You didn't 'stop showing' this intro. If you had P & D advertising, this was the ONLY intro till they updated it - you didn't have a choice between the old and new.
This went out of fashion in July 1996. The opening was always the same, but the outro was altered towards the end with a diferent phone number and extended to feature 2 lines of the chorus instead of the original 1.
Happy memories, not of Kia Ora but there was a fantastic icecream lolly called I think Peach Melba that you could only get in cinemas. Have listened to a few of these YouTube versions and I'm afraid this one comes over a bit muffled.

Some of the smaller cinemas probably used it long after the Odeon & other big chains stopped showing it.

Yes, and the curry house in the film was never the one advertised & you won't see any of the staff in the advert there either!

Yes that's right, curry houses always had flock wallpaper, acting was hammy to say the least, ah memories are made of this!!

Lol! I love that! always seemed to advertise curry houses and carpet warehouses with a crackly soundtrack. I remember it well
