  • Hi, having a bit of trouble, wondered if you can help. When I run this it assumes vmware is in C:\Program Files\VMWare\VMWare Workstation but I've actually got it in K:\Program Files(x86)\VMWare\VMware Workstation - any way to make it work?

  • Comment removed

  • OSX on VMware is a scam. It doesn't work. You get "Too few match sites" error. It is a scam steer clear.

  • Hey it gives me an error when i run the command window. It says system error 5 access denied. What should i do?

  • @Experiencedashell You should read the comments :D Disable User Account Control in Control Panel

  • OK! for people who have problems with the 5 error or somthin like that or the too few mach sites, do this:

    1. just run the bat file as admin, it will load.

    2. you are probably usin vmware 6.5.xxx or lower, so use vmware 7.1.xxx or higher to load the unlocker.

  • i cannot open windows.bat, in the command windows it shows service name is not valid

  • pleas respond

    when type in windows.bat its says that error 5 has occured

  • i cannot run windows.bat.when i extract the zip file and in " VMware Workstation Unlocker - Windows" folder the file is names as only windows, not windows.bat

    please help

  • @jayeshsmith It's only because you don't have file types on, just do it the same way I did anyway

  • @ZackehhSoul dear friend, when i right click on VMware Workstation Unlocker - Windows, i cannot see an option to run in cmd prompt.So now what to do?please reply.I even tried to go directly from command prompt.When i give command windows.bat, it give an error that the files are not there.

  • Hello! Look inside the bat file: "%~dpn0_32.exe" %*

    Anyone know what this is actually doing?

    Thanks

  • @gepisar Agreed -- what changes are being made by this file?

  • @westdccs @gepisar It basically runs through a couple of processes which change the files in the VMware directory. Since VMware is the same across all systems, it just disables the features that aren't to be used (in other words they still exist just aren't accessible), all it does is rework VMware to re-enable them.

  • @gepisar Bump - Anyone>?

  • @gepisar Im guessing that it executed the windows_32.exe in the same folder...whatever that does!

  • @gepisar Hello gepisar to help you calm down about what appears to be a sketchy command line let me assure you that i is not. Let me explain %0 is parameter zero or the name of the batch file (Windows.bat)

    d = drive

    p = path

    n = name

    when put together dnp_32 is = windows_32.exe (drive letter:\file_path\file name with suffix _32.exe) looks super sketchy but its not im more concerned about the sketchy file name windows_32 hope im not infected with a virus guess some one should decomp it.

  • Hey dude, great tutorial, well done!

    One question, can the windows.bat file be run when my VMware install is not on the default C drive. I have it installed on G drive and the batch file only looks at a C drive path. Can I edit it so it runs on G drive?

  • my main problem seems to be "too few match sites" shows up in cmd about four times then cmd closes itself, i had a problem with system error 5 even though i turned off UAC until i ran windows.bat as an administrator, and yes i turned on virtualization in BIOS, i can do everything except for unlocking this damned thing, does it have to do with a 64-bit or different versions of VMware? and is it preferred to use the .iso file or .vmdk file? This is turning into a massive headache

  • how do you disable UAC?

  • @zackehhsoul i get this error:

  • @TheFallenDesigns I run 64-bit, should work.

  • @ZackehhSoul Do you know who made the program? I tried changing the directory myself but it gave me a error when I tried to run it.

  • It says it worked and all but when i open vmware Mac osx isnt an option and when i boot the file from your other vid it says it cant run Mac osx software i ran the bat in command prompt and everything wat went wrong? Do i have the wrong version of vmware(7.0.0)?

  • where's the link?

  • @roysal007 Right there in the description :P

  • It tells me Acsses denied

  • @TheFingerBoardinguy

    Try just right-clicking the windows.bat file and choose "Run as Administrator"

  • Mine says "the parameter is incorrect"

  • there should be a way to specify where you have installed VMware, since the programs folder name may be different depending on the system language (my path is C:\Arquivos de Programas, and since the script tries to find VMware in C:\Program Files, I'm not able to use it). Is there a workaround?

  • do I have to enable Hardware Virtualization before I do this?

  • The guest operating system won't come up ! I tried doing it so many times and no use !! VMware workstation - e.x.p build -434829

  • @DragonShield21 beta isn't supported. Read the README next time.

  • Doesn't help. Fuck it, two days of me doing NOTHING but trying to get Lion to work. I have Snow Leopard running just smoothly, but Lion, FUCK NO.

  • The version does not matter Just turn off UAC then restart and follow the instruction again Now it works!

  • I have 5 errors as well and seem everyone else is having the same problem I'm currently using vmware station version 6.5

    I guess the version does it since it says version 7.1 in Readme Plz let me know if I'm wrong but trying version 7.1.3

  • When I type windows.bat in command prompt it says me: ' windows.bat ' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

    Than show me C:\Users... etc. (like at the beginning) to type windows.bat again.

    What can I do?

  • If you get an error that says:

    * File C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmwarebase.dll:

    * Error opening file.

    Try stopping the VmWare Tray process

  • @Kordakus thanks man worked perfectly!!!

  • What is UAC?

  • I get an error saying "Too few match sites" help me plz

  • @ZackehhSoul

    its giving me system error 5 how would i go about fixing this thanks.

  • @heyheyboi22

    Just right-click the windows.bat file and Run as Administrator

  • This should work on 32-bit versions of Windows; however, it won't work on 64-bit versions due to VMware installing to %PROGRAMFILES(x86)%\VMware\VMware Workstation (by default) instead. Thus, there should be files for both 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows in order for this to work. I believe that this is the reason why I and some others receive that error message, since we are running a 64-bit version of Windows.

    ZackehhSoul, can you do something about this, if you don't mind? =)

  • @youandretube25 i have tried moving the files then it say cannot locate vmware something.exe and three

  • I too receive an error of being unable to change directory. However, I think I know where the issue is.

    First of all, you shouldn't need to disable UAC. Just run a command prompt with administrator privileges and manually go to where the files are.

    Secondly, it's attempting to change the directory in %PROGRAMFILES%\VMware\VMware Workstation. (more on my follow-up comment - damn you, character limits!)

  • when i try to this on windows i get access is denied

  • I followed this guide but got stuck when I loaded the image on VMware, the error message is:

    "Mac OS X is not supported with software virtualization. To run Mac OS X you need a host on which VMware Player supports hardware virtualization."

    I have seen this before, and I can confirm that my processor does not have Intel Virtualization Technology (E7200), so am I out of luck here, and in need of a new processor to get this running?

  • @Drake5195 I got the same message. Maybe if we try the iso instead of the image file it will work?

  • @Robbsaber02 i tried the image the iso

    to

  • @56walid It means our processors don't support Virtualization (VT). That's why I plan on buying a new processor.

  • pls help i keep on getting"too few match sites"

  • Can u give me a download link which has an already unlocked mac VMware?? Plz tell me what to do.. Because i'm very desperate to use Lion!! :p

    Thanks!!

  • Is there any other way to unlock Mac OS X in VMware?? Plz tell me..

  • the shift key won t happen vi don t now what to do?
