  • i have this already at age 17 I was told at the age of 16 that I had it, I have already lost my Gla Bladder due to this, is there any more organs that I can lose, and it seems that any food upset's my stomach even a little simple bite of a piece of food makes me sick no matter what type of food it is, if anyone can help me out with this problem it would be great, it's very embrassing that I get sick all the time around my gf and have to rush home due to this stupid disease.

  • I've had Crohn's for 26 years. This doctor is 100% right. There are some patients like me where Azathioprine fails and remicaid becomes less and less effective. BUt in my case, the old old salazopyrine is the only med that works. That mixed with entocort and methotrixate. However, I really look forward to the next Mabs available in the coming years. And he's right, having this since the mid 80s, I have seen the slow ride to a better future.

  • Crohn's disease causes ulcers and inflamation in the digestive system, It is caused by your own immune system attacking your digestive system. How do you think eating is going to change that? Diet can help crohn's, saying diet can cure crohn's is as ignorant as saying diet can cure cancer, it's just not true. Educate yourself, talk to others with crohn's, try different things, figure out what works best for you, and take care.

  • @Greenspun76 Well I personally think that Crohn's Disease is caused by Candida fungus and if you starve the Candida fungus by changing your diet, then theoretically you should get cured. Though the diet is almost impossible to follow, I have heard of one instance where they did cure Crohn's Disease with the diet over a course of 2+ years but because it wasn't done in an experimental environment, they can't confirm it. However, it is confirmed that the diet does relieve problems with Crohn's.

  • @Greenspun76 I've heard stories about people curing cancer and Crohn's through diet and I've tried their diets and it has alleviated my Crohn symptoms. So how can you call me ignorant if I speak from experience? I've educated myself, I know what Crohn's Disease, and am much healthier now than I was injecting toxic drugs that can cause death, serious infections and/or make you go insane. Though I did it not through diet alone. I also used the herb: Cat's Claw cause the diet is very hard to do.

  • Everyone saying to eat "Gods way". Yes we should avoid processed sugars as much as possible. But seriously -eating nuts and seeds! Are you crazy! This will cause a blockage! Dont preach about something you dont have. Eating natural does not work for everyone. Making a suggestion is one thing-trying to get people off their meds is just wrong.

  • CROHNS IS CURABLE...Why do we coninue to eat litterly CRAP Did God intend for us to eat this modified fake CRAP WE CALL FOOD?? Take what God has givin us to eat! Fruits Vedgetables Fresh Meat! I Have Crohns Im only 14 and i encourage the book THE MAKERS DIET please please read it!!!!!!!!!

  • @hiddenacrescamp I agree! Crohn's can be cured. I have gotten so much better by changing my diet to organic foods including raw milk! Any amount of pasteurized milk will instantly give me problems but raw milk, I can drink all day! One of the things that has saved me a lot is a herb called Cat's Claw. Works a million times better than any medication out there! Good work doing research yourself! Doctor's don't know everything.

  • @CyborgNinja7 gastroenterologist whom plainly told me that she did not have any nutritional-based training, but only knew that these new drugs for intestinal problems worked to suppress the immune system. Coming to the realization of being uninsured, sick and spending $500/month on prescriptions I decided to do a little research of my own... I found a man named Paul Nison who has healed himself of Crohn's Disease through dieting. He also spoke of a great resource: Hippocrates Health Institute

  • @CyborgNinja7 Let me start off by saying that I HAVE Crohn's Disease...I was diagnosed 4 years ago with "severe Crohn's" and was told to go onto 10 pills a day and eat a bland, nutrient-less diet and MAYBE I would cope. After about 2.5 months of being on these miracle pills i saw no improvement but worsening. I was eating my bland diet of white, processed breads and crackers, overly steamed vegetables and absolutely flavorless foods. Of course, I did all of this by recommendation by my

  • seems very good to focus on brain-related complications in the context of Crohn's Disease studies, etc., tho, so far, specific remedies for the suffering do remain elusive, etc.

  • Susan, maybe you should look into a dietary route of healing...use what God made to heal our bodies, and not a man-made drug that can cause serious problems later down the road. We as Americans are exposed to cheap, mass-produced, genetically modified foods that are breaking down our immune systems and making us susceptible to disease. Eating pure, fresh, and organic fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds is a way that can HEAL the body...our bodies were not derived from drugs.

  • @ironcladhero Please stop trying to sell nonsense to people. Crohn's disease is a serious illness - and just because it affects the digestive system, doesn't mean that a person is either responsible or can change the disease's course through diet alone. Please stop with this crap - it's very offensive to people who are ill and in this case, potentially damaging. Nuts and seeds are the LAST thing someone with Crohn's should be eating.

  • @CyborgNinja7 Ironcladhero is not selling nonsense. He speaks the truth. I agree 100% with him. Crohn's Disease can be cured by diet alone. I have gotten so much better eating only meats, vegetables, and fruits. I would not recommend nuts and seeds until the inflammation is gone though. I understand your concern but the truth of the matter is drugs aren't the solution. Diet is. I would also recommend a herb called Cat's Claw. Cat's Claw is a powerful anti inflammatory herb and relaxes muscles.

  • @socceric17 You say all that and yet you recommend an anti-inflammatory medication. The simple fact of the matter is all you have to go on are selective anecdotes and no backed up research. If I'm going to recommend something for people who are severely ill, I'm going to be intelligent and responsible enough to make sure that there is _solid_ evidence that it works. A few selective testimonials isn't evidence.

  • @CyborgNinja7 I recommend Cat's Claw because people with severe Crohn's usually can't get better by diet alone(though some can). There is lots of research on Cat's Claw. It's been used for centuries to treat gastrointestinal inflammation and digestive problems. It is also 100% safe unlike conventional medicine. So why would I not recommend something that is 100% safe and has worked amazing for me? If it worked for me then it's bound to work for someone else too.

  • @socceric17 no it cant be cured with diet alone. my mother has had it her whole life 4 operations, one perferated bowl, and cronic pain and diarehia. she has tried diet, she has also tired every medication including remacaid. some times it is worse for other people to the point were diet can not cure them

  • When you say "the natural history" of Crohn's is having surgery...sure, people have to have surgery...but, do you not understand the CAUSE of Crohn's...it's poor diet and eating mass produced, genetically modified food! How about we work on a dietary way of healing the body as to not have so many complications with drugs. Just because someone has symptoms does not mean they need a man-made drug. We need to use what the Creator himself designed for us to heal... nutrients and fresh food.
