It's the same voice, but since she or "he's" a guy, he doesn't always get the voice exactly the same every time. That's very hard to do, no matter how talented you are. Scott Hardy was just in the finals of the Funniest Person In Austin (FPIA) contest, but he didn't win first place. He should have done his Gladys character. Maybe he'd have won. :) He probably tries to keep "her" under wraps these days, though. He should appear on Ellen's show someday.
She probably does know by now. On the very first one, Ellen seems like she doesn't know, but remember, she's an actor. Guy, but Scott, who actually IS Gladys, has worked on an album with him.Both Scott and "Gladys" are credited as "voices" on Larry's "Christmas in Larryland".The humor on that CD is much cruder than the mild stuff that "Gladys" does on Ellen and her own CD. I was just thinking listening to Gladys that she sounded like Larry the Cable Guy's impersonations of older women. It sounds like one of his voices.

I read an article by some news program that checked Gladys out pretty extensively and it seems she really is fake, as a lot of people had suspected beforehand. It's the voice of a guy who lives in Austin.

It's the same voice, but since she or "he's" a guy, he doesn't always get the voice exactly the same every time. That's very hard to do, no matter how talented you are. Scott Hardy was just in the finals of the Funniest Person In Austin (FPIA) contest, but he didn't win first place. He should have done his Gladys character. Maybe he'd have won. :) He probably tries to keep "her" under wraps these days, though. He should appear on Ellen's show someday.

She probably does know by now. On the very first one, Ellen seems like she doesn't know, but remember, she's an actor. I read that the Gladys CDs they sell benefit an animal group, so maybe t hat's why Ellen thinks it's okay to play a little joke on the audience. I don't know for sure why she does it, though. Gladys, whoever he is ;), is kind of funny anyway.

No, it's not Larry the C. Guy, but Scott, who actually IS Gladys, has worked on an album with him.Both Scott and "Gladys" are credited as "voices" on Larry's "Christmas in Larryland".The humor on that CD is much cruder than the mild stuff that "Gladys" does on Ellen and her own CD. You can see Gladys' bio on ArtistDirect, where they say "Gladys may or may not be real", then they go on to explain that many people suspect Scott is Gladys. Some know for sure. LOL. I think he's funnier than Larry.

Yes, Scott Hardy, as Gladys, called KLBJ before Ellen, & now calls other stations in the area & other states, too. I'm not sure about the "what's his face's mother" thing you're talking about, though. "Gladys" talks about her grandson "Dennis/Denny" quite a bit. Is that who you are thinking of? There is another guy in Austin, Russel Miles, who does old lady radio pranks, too. He goes by "Melba Jackson". I think Scott's old lady bit is pretty funny. He does commercials, too. Talented guy.
