  • It's a magazine not a clip. They are not the same thing.

Was there a target down range, or just possibly hitting innocent people in the distance?

  • Mine works much more smoothly with the Remington factory 30 rd magazines and CCI Stinger Ammo.

  • I switched out my extractor for the Volquartsen one. I never jam any longer and I shoot cheap ammo.

  • @TrackerMedic how did you get the factory extended mag?

  • @HammyChigger - Cabelas sells them.

  • It's a magazine.

  • Nothing better than a bunch of rednecks playing with a kids rifle

  • @myslash09 how is it a kids rifle?

  • guy at 0,35....need to learn how to hold a weapon

  • @Ozarmate

hes a lefty, it looks weard on the left sholder, dont it?

  • u guys canadian are assume...u guys r useing the guns my 12 year old brother shoots...how are the laws on guns up there...im haveing an anti-gun debate with my friend

  • @tonythedemocrat1 Gun laws in Canada are not as draconian as most Americans think they are. As far as the .22 being a "kid's gun" I totally disagree, I don't like spending the money shooting my Siaga or 30-06 and I hate shooting corrosive ammunition through my SKS because I don't always have time to clean it every time I shoot.

  • Buy .22 Yellow Jacket remingtons, they will feed fine in the 30 round clip, no bent cartridges or anything like that either. 100 for like 6 or 7 bucks isnt too bad for high velocity rounds that havent jammed on me yet.

  • never call it a clip it is a magazine a clip is an internal part to a magazine

  • @mrexample99 You're half-right. Magazines hold the cartridges until they are fired. Clips are used to load magazines. Every firearm that has more than two rounds capacity uses a magazine, it just depends if it is internal or external. Example: M1 Garand = internal magazine which is loaded by a clip, M14 = external magazine which CAN be loaded by a clip but it is not necessary.

  • @bjpw1234 The M1 garand is not actually loaded by a clip but retains the clip which the cartridges are attached to ejecting it upon completion. So your only half right too. lol

  • @bjpw1234 Oh and I forgot to add many machine guns/firearms that have way more than 2 round capacity use belts as a feeding system so dont have magazines either, Guess that makes you almost entirely wrong.

  • @triplemurray 1) The M1 is loaded by a clip. Whether it is retained or not, it's a clip.

    2) All I have to do is replace "Every firearm that has more than two rounds capacity uses a magazine" with "ALMOST every firearm that has more than two rounds capacity uses a magazine" And then I'm right, at least to you.

But if you want to get technical, all those belt-fed firearms only have 1-round capacity, they're just constantly being reloaded very quickly by the belt. So I'm still right.

  • MAGAZINE!!! clip is internal to the gun.

  • I really don't like the fire rate on the remington. It's a nice rifle and I've put about 300 shots through mine without cleaning and it has never jamed once. Here's the problem, you can actually release the hammer before the bolt closes, so if you fire too fast you'll release the hammer while the bolt is still open forcing you to charge it again to reset the hammer. This gun is not much for fire rate, but it is accurate, reliable, and has a nice over all feel to it.

  • Whats up with that eye relief on that scope?

  • @mini14gb I was wondering the same thing too.

  • where can i get the clip that holds 30 rounds?

  • @NEWpoet405 I just bought a black one at Cabela's website. They have black or clear there. I just used mine the first time today and it works pretty good.

  • these mags are quite reliable, however there are a few bad seeds out there whose spring seems to become disengaged and breaks off inside. i usually don't have feeding problems when loading these mags with 30 rounds and i will usually fill them right up, however the last 5 are a bit harder to get in then the previous 25. there is a great video out there on youtube showing how to paint the clear ones black with a nifty little viewing window to see how many rounds left.

  • Great Vid but what did guy say at the 12sec mark LOL

  • what's better 597 or 10-22?

  • @filmcostar 10/22 by far the 597 has horrible feeding problems and the extractor always tends to fuck up no matter how many different guns you buy. The 10/22 is better in almost every way possible.

  • haha i have this same set up on my 597, good fun but the magazine is absolute rubbish, jams far too much and doesnt even really fit into the loading port, but when you get it up and running smoothly it's good plinking. happy shooting

  • 0:35 put that chicken wing down who taught you to shoot

  • what kind of ammo brand do you suggest?

  • CCI "blazer" ammo shoots great for me.

  • I have a 597 with the Remington brand 30 round clip. I have yet to have any problems with feeding thru the clip, so far so good. the clip is a very tight fit, but it makes sense seeing as it hangs down far it needs to be tighter than the 10 round clip so it doesn't jiggle around. 1 piece of advise.....DO NOT use Remington golden .22 bullets, they are junk... Use cci .22 LR mini mag. A little more money but they shoot perfect. And cci stinger wont group for shit because they shoot to fast.

  • I did'nt know there was a 30 round clip available for the 597

where did you get it? i want one most definately,

  • @whisperingdeath308 I got mine @ bass pro shops

  • That is the first 597 that I have ever seen that doesn't have iron sights on it. Also, if would would clean your rifle it wouldn't jam. I clean my every time I use it, and I can load 30 round magazines full, and shoot every round as fast as I possibly can and it never jams.

  • @KevinWirt non of the bull barrels have iron sights have them. its not a dirty gun causing the jamming its just from the weak spring in the mag

  • I found this website that seems to carry them for the cheapest price.

    Sportsmansguide . com

  • thats is bad ass sir

  • How does it shoot left handed, the shells don't hit you too much do they?

  • Use CCI ammunition. i have put 500 rounds through my .597 and not 1 misfire on hangup

  • haha nice touch with the vietnamese there son ... given me flashbacks :P

  • I agree... cheap ammo, low grain rounds cause mis-feeds and jams... CCI works great...

loves that 44 grain stuff.. 36 not so much,

  • any mag feeding problems.

  • I find that the first five rounds (rounds 25-30) don't always feed smothly into the gun. It seems that the magazine spring doesn't always have enough force to push the bullets in.

If I only load about 25 bullets, it seems to always feed smothly.

  • @Ironringbound where do u get the clip

  • @Ironringbound thats what i do with mine, 25 always works great but 30 rounds for some reason would throw multiple rounds into the chamber the first few shots for me

  • @Ironringbound really i find that that last five rounds jam in my rifle

  • @Ironringbound i herd some other ppl say that aswell, i have no prob with my 30 round clip for my vtr. i have a all black plastic remington mag. im thinking it might be the clear ones that are problemmatic. or maby i just lucked out il get another one and see how it works

  • @BoomStickSgt maybe just needs to be broke in. mine gave me trouble at first. same rifle, same magazine (looks like). after cycling enough rounds, the operation seemed to be a lot more fluid, and i had no trouble. sometimes you gotta break things in like a new pair of shoes...

  • Same here with my sons 597 on those CCI mini-mags. Got tons of jams with the Federal 550 round bulk packs from Wally World. You need to get you an activator though... Greatest thing since sliced bread...

  • shes a nice rifle for the price. it took mine a 1000 rounds to break in good. it loves the cci stingers.

for bulk ammo the federal auto match works ok but it hates cheap ammo. cci mini mags are very consistent also. not as accurate as my thompson center but thats a 500 dollar .22.

if you buy the remington make sure the sights are tightened well. many are not tight enough from the factory and have been lost the first day out. im glad i learned this in my research. i almost lost my front
