First of all, they seem to use a little bit of "scientific racism" saying that there are "genetic" differences between the rich and the poor. BUt also when it comes to environmental stability issues, the problem is usually that under developed nations usually have too big of a population, while the west has less. BUt at the say time, westerners are just as big of a problem for the environment because they buy too many products and consume a lot, creating pollutants and trash. So that's just another take. It says HIV comes from the monkeys of Africa and if this is true, then they would be no africans alive by now because africans have lived side by side with these animals for century! HIV/Aids has reached epidemic proportion and not just in Africa. Eastern Europe is heavily hit, in countries like Russia (1.5 million), Romania, Bulgaria etc. Of course the western world don't want to make it public, you can find these information on written health research led by doctors. It was also spread by a group of Belgieum scientist in the 1970's who were looking for a vaccine for polio and vaccinated over a million africans in the span of 3 years

I have no sympathy for orphaned children whose parents died from AIDS. Reason: Because their parents - or at least one of their parents - were being promiscuous. They shouldn't have been promiscuous. Everyone only needs to have one sexual partner their entire lives - that's all. Otherwise they're slutty. Moreover, if a man has sex while married, he definitely derserves to get HIV and, because he was an adulterer, deserves no sympathy.

1) we (Europe/US) do give them money, because we (Europe/US) colonized Africa which led to killed them, stole their money/gold/resources, took their people, enslaved the ones that didn't die on the way, etc.
2)It's more complicated than get a job, but if they had the assets/access they will work for it.
3)If there was a cure for AIDs, the rich nations would get it first, they have the gold, so don't worry about that.

well, first, there have been a lot of disputes on the "IQ and Wealth of Nations" book you mention. First of all, they seem to use a little bit of "scientific racism" saying that there are "genetic" differences between the rich and the poor. But the authors also say the ethical responsibility of rich, high-IQ nations to financially assist poor, low-IQ nations.
so i'm thinking that this book is not the answer, true there is a correlation. but "correlation is not causation".

Well, since i had to take a class about The African Culture/Diaspora where a good week was spent on the AIDS epidemic, plus reseach on my own, i probably would say that you are being too general and not looking at the socio-cultural aspects that exist in many african nations. I didn't touch on them in this, too long, but if you were to research into it, you'd see it's much more than just using a condom. That would help, yes! but it's harder than that.
