  • What is that fast, high pitched squeaking noise? I just completed my swap and noticed that noise on idle and same as the blacktop on my friends car.

  • I an alternate universe, an alteranate Mt. Akina, there drives and evil Takumi Fujiwara, in an 86 powered by an Satan's Panda.

  • what mods are you running thing sounds evil?

  • Hi mate, Very nice sounding AE86 you have there. How long did it take for those springs to quieten down? Ive just done a 20V swap and mine make the same high pitched noise, its so annoying! Did it take a while for the noise to stop? Thanks

  • i <3 this sound.....

  • what kind of tranny did you use ?

are you using T50 transmission from 12t,13t ???

  • nice sound ur trumpet n exzos

  • With your distributor in front was there anything wrong with the firing order cause i heard that the distributor spins backwards??

  • @R1kid07

haha obviously the engine is running right? yeah, you are right, since the dizzy is up front now and still being driven by the exhaust cam, it is turning backward. But that was an easy fix

  • is it worth gettin a single turbo on to a 4AGE 16v ?... luv ur car mst have cost a lot

  • this is a 20 Valve Blacktop how did you get your distributor to the front of the engine??? All these engine came FWD with the distributor on the other side what set up did you use for that conversion.

Also where did you get your Velocity Stacks from they are hot

  • oi bro wht mods do u have let me know

  • Backfire.....backfire.....backfire......backfire

    Awesome.

  • is the 5 valve per cylinder really useful?

  • @TransAmDrifter yeeaa

  • @pakkiaman2 I think it would've been often used in motorsport if it would be so useful.

  • @TransAmDrifter sometimes in motorsport ....there arent turbonetics turbocharger that produce 1500 hp.....but its usefull :) bye bro. ps . 3 valves are better that 2

  • whats the CR?

  • Someone told me that the 20v 4age is for FR only is that true?

Also what did this cost you?

  • @EToastE

not true, in fact, the 20V 4AGE is only come from the FWD AE101 and AE111 chassis.

but you can bolt it right up with the regular RWD transmission, and the motor mounts line right up.

  • @gunluvS14

are you using T50 tranny without mods ?

  • @maxnanabas09

same transmission from the blue top 4AG whatever that one is. No additional modification for the transmission since the bellhousing line up

  • @gunluvS14

thanks, im about to build one too hehe good thing i have

    a tranny that fits with 16v 4age :D

  • damn sounds like a group A AE111 engine

  • @csgtfaught Sounds like a relatively stock AE111 with breathing mods to me hehe.

  • @ToreDL87 well the group A engines started life as the 20V AE111

  • @csgtfaught are you sure?

The 4A-GE`s life in Group A started with the 4A-GE 16v, AE86 was a worldwide Group A 1600cc N/A class winner in Rally, Sprint, Touring etc, before the end of the 80`s, TRD built AE86-AE92 1600cc hybrid Gr.A engines (AE86 head on AE92 block with all the sick parts) for the AE86`s, I should know, my ae86 is a surviving Group A example.. TRD even made ae86/ae92 hybrids and stroked them, put them in AE86`s, which won Australian 2000cc N/A Gr.A class back in the days :)

  • @csgtfaught And I`m not saying you are wrong or anything, not looking for a fight at all, if you have any valid reference points to the opposite I`m just as interested in seeing :)

  • @ToreDL87 oh im not trying to start a fight either jut putting in mt .02

  • cleen tbi & 20 valve

  • my first choice of car was this kind of car (AE86) back then when i was in high save up his money doing summer job..... it's hard to find and it's rare. spent my senior year and found none and so i end up wit 240sx witch is a good car....i have passion for FR RWD cars.

  • <3....

  • BLACK TOP SIOT.. GILA LAH!! AWESOME..!!! HOW DO GET THAT EXAUST TO SOUND LIKE THAT?? what do you use??

  • @acat46 20v ftw

  • hi!i just want to ask if you know how and what should i buy to convert my 4ageBT to COP(coil on plugs)?b'coz i dont like to cut the wall to make room for the distributor cup.thanks!

  • what the compression ratio?

  • How to do a 20v 4age swap on AE86..?? What should I take NOTE of when I do a swap..??

  • @projectD32 dont try it unless you know a lot about cars. if u want this engine in a US car get a first generation mr2, much easier to put this engine in one of those

  • Wow best sounding 20v ever! i think you've convinced me to get trumpets & a buddy club exhaust... or should I just go beams :)

  • epicness sound ur hachi rocks good work :D

  • how did you move the engine staight because mine is like to the side and i dont really know how to put mine like that?

  • Was thinkin abotu just savin up for a gts and DD'ing my SR5 but fuck it, every video I watch makes me want the BT 20v even more...

  • Hey Dudes i need some help, my silvertop is having an idling problem, when the engine is cold its idle is flactuating real bad, and even if i'm running at high speed my engine would die. But when my engine is warm its idling is fine as if nothing is wrong,, i already changed my spark plug, oil and still nothing happened,, need help guys

  • @SoL21jeanne tell me... do you have a check engine light? if so what code is it?

  • exhaust is nice but WTF is that slapping noise?

  • @r2hMisTaKeN slapping noise? it's the camshafts springs and the slapping noise is the exhaust backfire

  • @ruelrreyes kk thnx

  • cool

  • gggggrrrrreeeeeaaaaattttt sssoouunnnddd mmmaaaaannnn!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice, that different throttle system is the main reason for the noise :)

  • Buddy Club Spec ll is one of the fucking loudest exhaust..... its made for tracks only. In other states it might be ok but in Cali you will get and ticket all the time.....ha ha good luck on the exhaust if u live in cali....

  • @WORLDMOSTNOTORIOUS86

this is why u get a fujitsubo exhaust if u live in cali xD

  • Buddy Club Spec ll is one of the fucking loudest exhaust..... its made for tracks only. In other states it might be ok but in Cali you will get and ticket all the time.....ha ha good luck on the exhaust if u live in cali....

  • nice swap iam tryng to do the same on my 76 sr5 corolla te37 there selling me a motor for cheap silver top!!i was wondering about the wiring and ecu what will i need any help will be great so i know what iam doing i own a body shop so i know a bit.. thanks,.

  • nice ae86 exhaust sounds great

  • I love these cars. I love itb's!

  • deng thats so nice!

  • mmmm love the trumpet sound

  • what exhaust is this? it sounds absolutely incredible!

  • Buddy Club Racing Spec II

  • Do you still have the Corolla?

  • hehe, I can hear the breather whistling.

  • Did the distributor relocation kit come with the extended plug wires? I am looking for a set.

  • @singleboost i have some BT questions can u pm me iceanusn7777@yahoo.com

  • could I ask you how did you sort out the distributor? You have got it on other side than normaly??

  • Travis used Garage Annex distributor relocation kit

  • WOuld you be able to do a sketch with head dimensions and some pictures of it as I am going to do it myself... .. I can send you my e-mail.. If this is possible it would be great. Many thanks

  • @gunluvS14 Why? I don't know that car very well, but I like it. Why you would want to relocate the distributor??

  • @Vladamor

It's because the 20v 4AG is originally for front wheel drive Levin/Corolla, which have the distributor face towards the flywheel side. Now we turned the engine 90deg, the distributor will not clear the firewall. Some folks notched the firewall, but relocate it towards the back side of the exhaust cam(now front), and reverse the rotation order of the lead to match the firing order is a much cleaner solution.

  • @gunluvS14 you had to do to put the distributor in front

  • how long should the velocity stacks be?i am running stock camshafts

  • Hmm, youtube won't let me post a direct link; but go to velocity-of-sound(dot).com

then search for the wave length calculator.

It's all about your cam duration, engine speed, and power band.

    I hope that helps!

  • thanks, but ít is too expancive for me.. but thank you for answer..

    Petr

  • BC spec 2 = ridiculous...

  • Sounds sick!

  • is that a MOD misfiring system dat u use...

  • very nice exhaust sound :D

  • what ecu ur car running ?

  • someone sent me a comment but accidently i delete it.if he want send it again

  • yes, straight throttle bodys,no velocity stacks.and no airbox because we can't put it,there is no room to put it,the throttle bodys are looking at the back of the car(at the back of the engine bay, near the co-driver)and we can't put the airbox.we wanted the air box because with the airbox it will suck cold air and it's better..so we need velocity stacks now..

  • hello, what is best for the intake?nothing or these trumpets i see on the video?my brother has one blacktop engine on his starlet and the factorys air filter doesn't fit cause there is no room for it..

  • I did not fully understand your question, but if you are asking about straight throttle body with no velocity stacks? that will hurt the flow tremendously, you NEED the stacks to smooth out the flow. The length of the trumpets is the key of your powerband characteristic, but it usually dictated by your intake cam profile, timing, and compression ratio.

  • I'm assuming your brother still has the intake plenums over the stock velocity stacks. If it is a street car, i wouldn't bother to eliminate the intake plenum. There's few horses there but clean and cold air is better for street anyway.

    good luck

  • i have ae86 coupe 85 gts. one problem is wont start. i use start fluid and wont last running. does work but wont last running if you know what i mean. my engine dont have weber.. i wish. im not sure what is that engine. im learning.

  • that would be a problem with fuel, it is not getting fuel.

  • really need 1 of ths..

  • I have looked every where but have not been able to find this engine! This engine will not fit the AE86 right? i recently bought one, a left handed one! but i need to re-do the whole thing.

  • Sick!!!

  • hello gunloves14 i have a question

i have one of those engines and would like to know what type of rear wheel drive transmision you guys have on that.

if not what transmision can i use on my rear wheel drive engine???

  • this blacktop is mate with the regular T-50 transmission coming out from a 16 valves 4AGE

  • MAN! i have a question, i think i know the answer but i wanna double check..

i have a 97 corolla (4afe), the Black and Silver will fit right? with tranny? ive been searching online, but nothing, ive seen pics and videos but, theyre like 95..

  • Nice swap dude, about to start this swap on my AE85, i see you have a front dizzy relocator, what brand is it and where from?

  • thanks man. This is not my car, I helped my buddy in this project. IIRC, that kid is made by Garage Annex, I think Techno Toy tuning is suppose to make their own front dizzy conversion kit

  • hey is this engine street legal in the us

  • as far as i know about the street legal speech.... you can have it in you car but make sure that your car is not TOO loud i.e. super low, roll cage. excessive decal on the car stating i love to drift, pull e brake to drift, loud asss muffler, ETC.... if you have a legit looking ae86 or any car WITH heavy engine modifications i suggest that you keep your car very descrete "almost a SLEEPER" look to it cuz some cops now a days keep up with information like this....

  • i have a question and i think it sound stupid to you... sorry for that.. but anyway what transmission did you use on it bec. blacktop came from a FWD how did you make it a straight 4? thanks! hehehe

  • nah, that's not a stupid question.

We used the stock 16v T50 transmission, the 20V 4age bell-housing is identical to the blue top one.

  • thanks bro now i know.. if i have a project car like that in the future.. some said that they prefer the 4agze(turbo charge) because the black top are hard to tuned is that true?

  • 4AGZE is supercharged, not turbo.

But IIRC, the reason claimed 4agze is easier to tune is because they use mass air flow sensor versus manifold absolute pressures sensor as the 20v blacktop uses. MAF response better to volumetric efficiency change and it compensate ign. timing and fuel pretty fast as load change

  • thanks for the info... if i have questions about engines now i know where to ask... hehehe good luck on project.. two thumbs up for you guys!!

  • incredible sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sounds like a standard motor with bolt on bits and a ridiculous 3in exhaust =/

  • nope.. Buddy Club Spec II is 65mm

  • wow ure incredibly stupid for saying that. Do you not notice the sound and way it idles? If it was a standard motor and he reved it, it would have twitched. Plus on the back of the AE85 it says sr5. I dont know what fucken sr5 has a standard blacktop engine in it. You dont deserve to look at this vid, go watch some shitty v-tecs. douche

  • i did notise the sound it makes at idle dickhead and thats why i said its got bolt on bits all the internals are prolly stock except for the cams i have a cosworth with quad throttle bodies koz i actually like to win when i go to the track ! who said anything about hondas anyway ?

  • ure still missing my point. u said it sounds like a standard motor with bolt on and shit. what sr5 sounds and looks like that?

  • im sorry i have an opinion you were totally right . although an sr5 in australia is a hilux tho =P

  • ha ha, i was thinking the same thing man, nice!!!

  • v-tec is not shitty, ill take my 86 over any honda any day but come on dude, give credit where credit is due. variable valve timing was the greatest thing to happen to the combustion engine since fuel injection. and honda invented it. you put a duel cam vtec in an eg and you got a mountain monster well capable of whopin an 86s ass. the desideing factor will come down to driver skill.

  • @pernellae86 Actually honda didn't invent variable valve timing. That's been around since at least the 1960's.

  • really, well there still getting royalties frome everybody that uses that technology. kinde like mazda holding the rotory patent when it was originally an improved wankle airplane motor, made bye some lady here in the u.s. in the 1920s. or something like that. just stuff ive read, could be wrong.

  • The first fuel powered rotary engine has been build by a german dude named Felix Wankel (as in "wankel engine") in 1932 but it ran only a few minutes.

He perfected his design until it was reliable in the 1960.

  • @pernellae86 honda didn't invent it you toy. they were the first company to actually use it in alot of their public cars

  • we've already established that tool, then we talked about wankles and rotorys, lets move on.

  • wat kinda gearbox on dat?

  • What header and ECU is he running? I have a Hatch with the same setup running Megasquirt... Nice sounding car..!

  • I'm not sure. I know Techo Toy Tuning modded the flange to have it fit onto the blacktop.

He's running the stock blacktop ECU with converted harness

  • nice blacktop you got there.

  • What clutch are you using i saw that in the desc you had a Exedy stage2

Isnt the most most extreme you can get a Stage 1 Ceramic

  • I don't quite understand your question.

The clutch is Exedy Stage 2; 3 pucks disc with sprung hub. What are you trying to ask?

  • in Aus the most extreme you can get is a Stage 1 Ceramic

but this clutch you cant get in Aus because they only sell up to stage 1 ceramic

  • How much did he put into the build? (might go with 20v as well)

  • I'm not comfortable to discuss his spending since that's his car, but since everything is brand new, let just say its above 10k, but not too crazy.

  • so around 16k - 20k?

  • 5 for me

    its good soud

  • That noise (if you are referring to the high pitched) is the ISCV sucking air when the ITBs are shut. All it does is bypasses the air. Put one of those breather filters and noise is gone.

  • nah, he was referring the rattling noise from the back. It was the springs on the slip-fit BuddyClub exhaust :)

  • Good looking swap. I am about to start my second 20v swap. This time I am going silvertop with blacktop ECU. I am dropping it on a kp61. Are you running a thermostat?

  • might want to let it warm up first and run it in

  • What changes between blacktop and silvertop? And all 4A-GE engines have that nice sounds, I dont asking about hp, just sound!

  • Silvertop came from AE101, it still uses MAF sensor. Blcktop came from AE111, and it uses MAP sensor instead. Of course, there are many misc. difference in detail too

  • I see, then sound of thats engines the same?

  • The AE111 has lighter internals than the AE101. Thats why you don't see people putting a turbo on a stock AE111. Plus the AE111 has an 11.1x1 Compression Ratio. If you turbo it u will blow the motor up.

  • nice sound!!!!

  • man i just love ur exhaust sound..hope my 20v can sound like urs too...

  • Did you originally have a hesitation problem with the engine?

  • Sounds mint! =)
