I think you could fully automate you record farmer by having a snow golem as bait, Doc. Put a Snow Golem on the spot where you stand and the skeleton should aim for it, hitting creepers instead!!

I have created a FULLY operational EATS road and so, I'll give you some tips for your own. You can fix your EATS by adding a row of solid water blocks before each boat stop/drop/elevator. If your boat is traveling at maximum speed, you'll need at least 10 water blocks to slow your boat down, also, a boat CANNOT be underwater when it hits a door/wall or it will explode. To start travelling in an eats system from a surface position, use pistons to push your boat underwater. I hope this can help :P

@GerMinecrafter if you cover the source block with something, halfslab, dirt, glass, or something else, it wont freeze. Also placing a bright light source near the water source block will prevent it from freezing.
