Glad that she gets with Pacey in the end. Looking back on the whole series there was just too much chemistry and unconditional love between them for her not to choose Pacey (All of season 3, the anti-prom scene, most of season 4, castaways and more)

I hate it when she gets cut off. Twice. It really messes up the whole episode. Its pretty obvious she's meant to be with Pacey. Typical if it isn't Dawson, then its his mum, someone related to him always has to mess things up between these two.

@LadyAngelz Throughout the whole series the writers gave the best lines to Pacey, probably because he was supposed to be the witty sidekick. And Josh, being the best actor there, delivered them perfectly. That combination made the Pacey character particularly endeering. Dawson on the other hand wasn't written that well and JVDB is no where near as talented as JJ, which is probably why Dawson sucked so much. So glad she ended up with Pacey in the end

@MyMovieLove To answer your post, even though it's sad that Jen died, she was not the only character on this show to make it what it was for 6 years which is why the writers decided to shift the focus towards the other characters afterwards because it was their way of saying ''keep living and love those who are still around'' and plus this show was mainly focused on Dawson and the people who impacted his life so it wouldn't had made sense to conclude the show mourning Jen or talking about her.

She chose Dawson over him,she chose Eddie over him and his love was unwavering.It just seems as though he was cheated.

They've been friends for so long, they've helped each other through the hardest times of their lives, they perfectly understand each other, they are part of each other, they belong to each other, and this makes them soulmates. But speaking of romantic love, Jack loves Doug. For Jack, Jen's like Dawson (even more) and Doug's like Pacey to Joey.

Honestly, though I was an avid Dawson-Joey fan, now that I've watched the series again, I realized that Joey and Pacey are a lot more compatible.

I don't get the idea of Dawson and Joey as "soulmates." From what I've seen Pacey and Joey are the better romantic love pairing and Jack and Jen are the better platonic love pairing. The overuse of the word "soulmate" between Dawson and Joey on this show rendered the term completely meaningless.

@luvsirpaul It was Kevin Williamson's intention, when he first wrote Dawson's Creek, that Dawson and Joey end up together. The problem was that the chemistry of the Pacey/Joey relationship usurped any chance that Dawson and Joey would evolve into a romantic couple. I think the abuse of the term "Soulmate" was an attempt to offer D/J fans a kind of consolation prize.

To be honest, although I'm an avid PJ fan myself, I'm really annoyed with other PJ fans who go on non stop about how annoying or selfish or egocentric Dawson is. Albeit that may be true the first 3 seasons (he was simply intolerable), but he grew up alot post-season 3 and he really wasn't as bad as people cut him to be. He turned out just fine.

Dawson ends up alone with his egocentric self. As for Joey, I think she and dawson deserve each other - and that's not a compliment. I used to want them together, but thinking back, they were a headache of drawn out angst that's led to nothing. Joey took way too long to figure out what she wanted and Dawson could never stop talking about himself the whole way. So they can be hot and cold together. But I think Pacey deserves better - maybe with Andy? She looked incredible and wiser than ever.

I stopped watching the show their senior year in high school but came back for the finale episode and it was like my whole childhood came back to me and at the end I was in floods of tears while laughing and jumping up and down because everyone I wanted to be together was, it was everything an ending should be. God I love that speech. I watched this show on a whim - I couldn't find Fringe online, and thought "Well hey, I know what else has Joshua Jackson" - and I didn't think I'd care all that much about it. But I love Jack and I love Jen, and I am continually frustrated by Dawson but I get all happy when his career takes off anyway because I love him a little bit too, and I love, love, love Joey and Pacey.

OMG, I love so much his voice and look when he says "So what exactly you say here". He's almost crying, you can see the load of these 10 years loving her and how much hurted she didn't answer back in the same amount. Because it was always her who hesitated and had doubts, even though he broke with her at that notorious prom.

It's so touching to see a man, a great guy like Pacey almost crying. Joshua Jackson is awesome actor.

In Arkansas a single person can't adopt (and seeing as gays cant get married there, they are all considered 'single') In Utah a single person can adopt, but not if they're in a co-habiting relationship that's not marriage (ie. if Jack and Doug were living together). etc.....

The only obvious way around this that i see would have been for Jack and Jen to marry :s
