@zkueker88, thanks for challenging this guy. He came to my school back in September doing basically the same thing, and I talked to him after, objecting to his methods. Interesting to find too that he's got some very weird hermeneutics going on with his ministry. Too bad he didn't really address your arguments as much as shout you down.
Thats it? You call him a few names and then show the video of you getting owned? Great job proving that your complete lack of understanding and common sense.
Luke 6:37 "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven." If this man wants to believe these things, let him. It's not your place to decide what is right and wrong.
@dukeeshamcgee Where is he judging or condemning by his own law? he is pointing out what his wrong is according to bible. When paul rebuked peter in Galatians for heretical teaching are you claiming paul under the influence of the holy spirit was wrong? you sir don't read your bible.
@dukeeshamcgee Where is he judging or condemning by his own law? he is pointing out what his wrong is according to bible. When paul rebuked peter in Galatians for heretical teaching are you claiming paul under the influence of the holy spirit was wrong? you sir don't read your bible.
@phaxad how long is long? Is it 3 in, 9, inches, or 3 ft?? What's your standard? I know in that culture, women's hair reach down to the small of their back or further and that is what the apostle Paul is referring to. Please, stop the legalism!
I dont see the point in arguing with your christian brother regarding what came first the chicken or the egg,,,or did GOD draw you first or did you chose to come,,,there are people standing there who are dying unsaved,,,they dont know Jesus YOU DO AND YET ALL YOU CARE AB IS SHOWING OFF FOR THE CAMERA INSTEAD OF SAVING SOULS,,,Work out yr deal with Calvin later,,,have an in house argument later,,,SAVE SOULS ON THAT WICKED CAMPUS NOW
This is another perfect example of how calvinism RUINS evangelism. I am NOT a calvinist but good soul winning calvinist are fine by me. There are some good calvinist soul winners like Charles Spurgeon but then in his day too there were people like this long haired hippie trying to douse evangelism. THE BIBLE SAYS FOR MEN TO CUT THEIR HAIR BUT OF COURSE YOU WILL NOT DO THAT BECAUSE JUST LIKE WITH CALVINISM YOU TWIST SCRIPTURE AND TRY TO JUSTIFY YOUR LONG HAIR.
Morrell is bascially saying that Jesus tried but you save yourself......Salvation by willpower not by grace....there is NO Gospel in his message - just fuel for massive self condemnation!
No wonder your generation is lost and on their way to hell. You believe mindless theories like "Calvinism" because it is easier than living a holy life before God. I do not agree with all the Jesse is saying but you my friend have been deceived! Remember Satan got his plan for his kingdom in heaven and he is trusting in the fact that many will be deceived into man-made thinking while believing they are saved! Just identifying yourself as a Calvinist is idolatry! We are to identify with Christ!
@lifepastor "Thy word is truth." His word teaches election, adoption, chosen in Him and predestination without a doubt. Can the object (believer) influence the action of any of these words. No, no more than a president can elect himself or an orphan adopt a mother and father. Now those who think they can "go about to establish their own righteousness," do not think that they need God to choose them. They can handle it themselves. Do you know that the puritans were, what u call Calvinists?
@Ebeneezerable But they just called it what Primitive Baptist,Jim Brown of Grace and Truth etc, call it: Doctrine of Election,Grace, predestination etc. Before the advent of "Freewill Theology"in the early to mid 1800's,it wasn't even called Calvinism. All that came from, well, the Armenians. So for those who accuse proprietors of the doctrines of Grace of being Calvinists, they are by the same token Armenians. So just identifying yourself as Armenian you are an idolater.Right neither am I an idolater
@Ebeneezerable I agree with you about the word being truth and the word does teach those things. It is too bad that you can see those teaching but miss the obvious complete teaching of the word to live righteously as a Christian. Jesus said to remain in him. My problem is that people use these teachings as an excuse to live sinful filthy lives. They also use them as and excuse not to go to church and to ignore fundemental biblical structure and order. You guys always quote men not the word!
@lifepastor Not true. How sir do you know what kind of life I or anyone lives having never even met them? How is it that you know I dont go to church? What men have I quoted? Just because I agree with the reformers doesnt mean that I worship them or believe everything that they believe. For instance I dont agree with infant Baptism. There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. Rm.3:11. So did the puritans use it as an excuse to live "sinful filthy lives? Neither do I
@Ebeneezerable I am not speaking directly to you but generally speaking about this doctrine. I do not know your habits but I can speak of those I know who believe this same doctrine and they my friend are deceived and do not know God!
@lifepastor Not true. "It is too bad that YOU can see those teaching but miss the obvious complete teaching." People are either of the elect or they are not and "by their fruits you shall know them." Someone may believe in infant baptism which I strongly oppose but if they bear fruit I am inclined to see them as a brother. Even at that:"By the deeds of the law shall no flesh be saved." My security is in Christ and His work not my own but "faith without works is dead." The two go hand in hand
@Ebeneezerable The word of God says to put on Christ it also says to put on righteousnesss. Now all you predestination excuse makers need to remember that man has no redeeming qualities in and of themselves, but when Christ comes in to live and dwell in man then the old man is dead and a new creation in Christ exists. Romans- we are no longer slaves to sin but slaves to righteousness. This means we are to live our new lives as Christ victorious over the sinful nature. no longer bound to sin!
Jessie needs to read Romans 5:12 for starters: "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" If he doesnt understand being born into sin he doesnt need to be preaching.
Calvinism is a nonessential but yet ALL YOU EVER TALK ABOUT IS CALVINISM. You should be like Charles Spurgeon and just preach the gospel. You talk about calvinism more than the gospel itself. Charles Spurgeon called people to repent and believe the gospel. You need to do the same. I do NOT agree with jesse morrell either. The guy teaches moral government theology but looking at your videos it is ridiculous how you spend so much time on calvinism.
I thought the criticisms took away much credibility to any if there was, an argument. Such as telling Jesse he is speaking out of 2 sides of his mouth. Not really an argument. And then accusing Jesse of ad hominems. And I know for a fact that Jesse doesn't preach salvation by works. A common misunderstanding. Jesse is simpl;y adhering to God's high standard.
It is truly sad how so many Christian's argue in favour of sin and that their theology is built upon taking certain scriptures in isolation. Jesus clearly taught to repent, turn from sin and to sin so more. He taught the narrow way and that there would be few who would find it. Count the cost pick up your cross. Paul taught to crucify the flesh, the old man must be put to death and we are to put on the new man. Jesus came to save us from our sins not to save us in our sins.
@quondras Yes it was and not only that it is clear in the Bible. The problem is that we want to be in control of everything. God said he would take out the stoney heart period not if you will allow Me I will. Try searching a concordance for election and free will. Did Obama elect himself? That's right and neither did we. His word says we are God's elect. Translation: God elected us.
@Ebeneezerable Give me a break, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."
If any hears and opens the door THEY hear and THEY open the door!
Jesse Morrell is an awesome preacher - you should listen to what he's saying because it lines up with the bible - he is preaching repentance - the same thing John the baptist - Jesus - and all the disciples preached - there is no use fighting with the repentance message its repeated all through the bible in both the old and new testaments - it repeats to turn from evil and love one another - that is definitely not a heresy.
@fernieboy100 Jessie needs to read Romans 5:12 for starters: "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" If he doesnt understand being born into sin he doesnt need to be preaching.
@Ebeneezerable Where do you see me saying "Christian rabbis?" I am saying that Christianity was considered heretical by Judaism, the faith that Jesus espoused, because of its doctrine of the Trinity, its doctrine of the Second Coming, and its misinterpretation of what the Messiah is supposed to be. Take a look at judaismDOTaboutDOTcom, Ask Rabbi Simmons, and look for the topic: Jesus as the Messiah.
@Ebeneezerable I agree. But Christians claim that the OT is also the word of God. According to the rabbi, that means, in a paraphrase, that Christians do "lip service" to the god of the OT, but their "hearts are far from him," since they believe in "heresies" such as the doctrine of the Trinity.
Historically, Christianity has not said that it is a different religion from Judaism, but the logical conclusion of it.
@Xenophile665 Precisely. For example the OT says you can't eat pork and dozens of other dietary laws, you can't touch a menstruating woman etc.Jesus said He was the fulfillment of the law and that loving the lord your God and your neighbor as yourself are what all of the law are contained in.Since keeping all of these laws was impossible (even for self righteous Jews)a more perfect sacrifice was needed, one prepared by God. That is why Jesus is called the lamb of God. By his stripes we are healed
@Xenophile665 I think I just gave a few examples and if you look it up you will find that the Law was our schoolmaster. If you want er if you think you can follow the Law go ahead. The Pharisees failed miserably according to the One who gave it and they were extremely devout. Paul said he counted it as dung. As for me I'll stick with loving the Lord my God and my neighbor with all my heart as Christ said.
@Xenophile665 I have to take the whole of the scripture my friend. Should I be circumcised according to the law? Did Jesus come to the gentiles or the "LOST SHEEP OF ISRAEL?" "...a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. ," - Gal. 2:16 Again apples to oranges.
@Ebeneezerable No, you're taking Paul's interpretation. Jesus said otherwise.
Not that it matters to me. The great number of contradictions in the Bible suffice for me. It makes me realize that people will believe anything, if you repeat it enough times. (And don't tell me, "Those contradictions are only apparently so. You have to read it in context, and interpret it correctly." I've read and understood the contexts. As for "interpretation," that's the apologists' word for "spin.")
@Xenophile665 Jesus came to the Jews Paul brought His Gospel to the gentiles. This is all covered in the book of Acts and Romans mainly but also Hebrews and others such as Galatians 2:16 which I've already quoted. John and Paul had a debate over this and God showed him in a vision that the elect gentiles were Christians not Jews under the Law. Therefore they did not have to be circumcised. How is it that people think they can judge someone by the very religion which they reject? It's impossible
@Ebeneezerable Yes, I've heard it all before. I've also heard from a sincere friend that orthodox Christianity is heretical, and that it will lead its followers to Hell. And he is devout and concerned about you, me, and anyone who doesn't believe his faith. Why shouldn't I listen to him?
@Xenophile665 Then why do you keep getting involved in conversations in which you keep hearing the same thing over and over. Does it fill a void in your life? I don't know, maybe you should listen to him.
@Ebeneezerable Repitition does not bore me. Hearing the same thing over and over helps me to keep my reasoning capabilities sharper. And, on occassion, I have found an honest truth-seeker on YouTube.
You stated, "I don't know, maybe you should listen to him." Does that mean that you aren't certain about the validity of your faith?
@Xenophile665 Wow! You sure know how to turn things around rather than addressing the matter. I obviously said that for your benefit not mine. I'm done.
@Ebeneezerable Odd that you should say that, I addressed the current matter at hand (I.e., answering your question, "Why do you keep getting involved in conversations in which you keep hearing the same thing over and over.")
ur silly dude ur calvinism is leading u to hell!ofcourse we can lose our salvation.do u know ur bible?what bible says about man with long hair!?u call ur self a christian!?with long hair!?calvinism is one more lie of the devil,u just cant see it.
Sin is a total choice. It's possible to not sin daily. U r able to do all things through Christ who strengthens u. Paul said I DIE daily to sin. Also a person can loose salvation even after a personal relationship with Christ. Proof: Judas.
Heretic? Your choice of language assures me that you have not closely interpreted the true issue in Jesse's gospel. Both Jesse and Zkueker are attempting to argue a "correct" interpretation of a book which has been totally, undeniably manipulated by a sect of Christianity to which neither subscribe (Zkuker, Calvinist; Jesse, some kind of Evangelical) Pull out the dead sea scrolls, throw in James, Mary Magdalen, and other gospels, maybe you'll be close to "God's" words. Think for yourself.
first of all your really ugly second of all your not jesus third of all you look like an idiot and you are the heretic... if you dont like jesse morrel or have respect for what he does, your just jealous cuz you wouldnt have enough balls to do the same... so zkueker your just a scared little christian grow up dude.
Here's an idea "god" doesn't exist if he did I don't think he would let all of his followers be child molesters, money grubbers, and convicts. Here's an interesting fact 97% of scientists (yes the ones trying to make your life better even though most of you hate them) are Atheist and 99.75% of convicts are religious.
@grahamgeons So by your logic God only exits is he conforms to OUR standards.Really? . ... And God wouldn't need to save the perfect, they would already be righteous, duh. But people like you and me, imperfect, depraved, selfish by nature. When you where a just a young piss ant your mama taught you every thing. I bet she didn't have to teach you how to do wrong, how to behave selfishly, how to hate, how to generally act stupid. Guess what, where both imperfect. And Guess who died for us? ;)
@martin10921 I'd normally respond with some witty statement but your comment is just plain silly. Only selfish people think that people are selfish by nature in terms of improving humanity as some act of trying to convince themselves its ok if they sit on their asses all their lives, their only contribution being a small space in a cemetery. If you actually want to apply yourself you can do what Salk did and cure polio then give it to the world for free, science is what changes lives.
@grahamgeons "Only selfish people think that people are selfish by nature in terms of improving humanity as some act of trying to convince themselves its ok if they sit on their asses all their lives" Im trying to convince my self its ok to sit on my ass my hole life? really? That would in fact be silly. And if I wanted to change lives I can cure something thats already been cured? And trying to account for science through circular argumentation. come on.
@martin10921 Yes I was suggesting you cure polio again that makes perfect sense. I can see I've stumbled upon another arts student who think they can make a do something with their flaky degree that teaches them absolutely no solid empirical data about everything except for their high unemployment rate due to the market being flooded with them, and having no real practical skills. Enjoy your degree that anyone who isn't mentally deficient could get in their sleep.
@grahamgeons Now your making an argument based of your fascination with arts students whom you dislike? And - "who think they can make a do something" ... what is that suppose to mean?
@martin10921 What fascination? Think I want to secretly lick your face? That's pretty fucked up. I am glad you keep quoting me, I also think my words are more important then yours.
I don't necessarily agree with Jesse Morrell on all things but I rejoice like the Apostle Paul did in Philippians when Christ was preach in contention.
I witness regularly and occasionally preach on the campuses near me and find the most offended folks are folks who called themselves Christians but never witness.
Sounds to me like Jesse won the argument. BS Christianity that zkueker88 participates in is stupid. Now I don't completely agree with Jesse, but between zkueker88 and Jesse, Jesse is a lot closer to understanding God. Especially with the unbelief argument, there are many people who have not heard of Christ, if they die without hearing his word, they are not going to hell.
Also, if the others there are 'christians", shame on them, rude F**kers
You had absolutely no answer for what Jesse was saying to you. You need to repent of your sins and STOP sinning as though it is what God wants you to do.read Grace, Faith & Freewill by Robert Picirilli
At 8:08 he said, "Your 'free will' doesn't have to obey your nature." But, didn't he say sin wasn't in our nature? Ugh, of all the heretical doctrines, open theists are the worst.
The guys is nuts and thats a understatement. He is blinded by his BS. He wouldn't even let people talk. And if he new he was right, which is wrong btw, why didnt he let others talk?
This actually reminds me a bit of my university days. For all the normal people watching this, take heart that these types of fuckers are hanging out in university campuses all over the world, staying out of the real world.
I don't believe ANY ONE can live sin free...to think of it is the same as doing it. NO MAN can do that but one...our Lord and Saviour: Jesus Christ. I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, but because one man sinned the whole human race inherited sin. Even the ground was cursed because of it. Believe me here, I unlike the kids on campus, am not trying to be belittling or argumentative.
@angelcitydarkroom Your HUMBLE HEART will be honored by God and you WILL receive your sight, as I did. Believe me, I totally understand your position. What you must do is to let the Word of God speak to you for exactly what it says...the Word is LIVING and IS LIFE. Christ laid salvation out very simply in His gospel and we, for the most part, have LOST it by reason of complex theology. The Reformed Theology (Calvinism) of today is a prime example of what happens when we follow MEN. (cont)
@angelcitydarkroom At this point, without any other details, you have already professed Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Your statement about one man sinning causing the whole human race to "inherit sin" is a theological fallacy and I will prove it with scripture. What IS SIN? The bible says in 1Jn 3:4 that sin is transgression of God's law. James 4:17 also says "to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." False teachers will tell you that sin is some sort of ...
@angelcitydarkroom ....some sort of "substance" that is passed down by genetics or heredity. This is completely unbiblical and if it were TRUE, then God would be at FAULT for OUR SIN. Sin is ALWAYS a moral choice to either OBEY or TRANSGRESS God's Laws. It is never anything else. Genesis 8:21 says "for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his YOUTH". The Hebrew "nâ‛ûr" means "young man" or "youth". The Jewish term "Bar Mitzvah" for their "coming of age" ceremony literally means...
@angelcitydarkroom "Bar Mitzvah" means "he who is subject to the commandments". Also, Christ says in Mat 19:14 ...Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Children are morally innocent and have no knowledge of God's laws...they only have natural desires of fleshly urges which are NOT inherently sinful. SIN is conceived in the heart when we CHOOSE to fulfill our fleshly desires in an unlawful manner against God's laws.
@angelcitydarkroom Finally, we must consider that Christ had the very same flesh that we did. He was not conceived by natural union of man/woman, but he was still IN THE FLESH that we have with all the same lusts and desires. This is how he was able to be TEMPTED in all points like as we are (Hebrews 4:15). Temptation is NOT SIN, but giving IN to temptation IS SIN. So, I have given you irrefutable proof in scripture that SIN is NOT INHERITED. I could go on with more, but this should suffice.
@angelcitydarkroom Now, how to live SIN FREE? Well, it's a choice, just like anything else God wants for us, we must first believe and have faith. If you do not believe it is possible, then you will not do it. Secondly, you must know that we are COMMANDED to live without sin. But are we ABLE to do this? Yes, but we must rely on the power of the Holy Spirit and for that we MUST ABIDE IN CHRIST. God is JUST and He will not command us to do something without giving us the MEANS and POWER to do it.
@angelcitydarkroom So where does God command us to live without SIN or desire us not to SIN? Several places: Leviticus 20:7, 1 Peter 1:15-16, 1 Cor 15:34, Psalm 4:4, Psalm 39:1, Ezekiel 3:21, Ephesians Ch 4, 1 John 2:1, Romans 8:1-10.
Christ Himself said these: John 5:14 and John 8:11 which are very to the point, especially 5:14 where he indicates that WORSE things are possible if we return to sin. Rev 12:11 says we will overcome Satan by the blood of Christ and the word of our testimony!
@angelcitydarkroom Now, I will warn you in advance, there are many who will try to deceive you. Take NO MAN'S word for any doctrine, including mine. Check everything against scripture and by earnest prayer and fasting in the Spirit! The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth of scripture and it is by the Spirit that you WILL receive truth and power to do ALL the Lord commands you to do to HIS glory. The Holy Spirit is given to them that repent, believe, and obey. Jn 7:39, Acts 2:38, & 5:32
Did I get this guy right? Did he say that sin wasn't inherent ? That's total unbiblical. We are by no means without sin and can not be total sin free. We can turn from our sins and ask for them do be forgiven. Repenting is a daily and ongoing process. And this once saved, always saved is bull. It does away with freewill if it's so. This guy on the most part is correct, but dealing with a college group, he's got his hands full. They are very liberal on campus these days.
@angelcitydarkroom What he's saying is that "sin" is not a substance that we inherit from Adam, that is a lie told and supported by those who seek to justify continuing in their sin. These are the very people Jude warned us about who turn the grace of God into a license to sin. Sin is transgression of God's law (1Jn 3:4). There is no "sin nature" that magically forces us to sin against our will. We are slaves to sin, but it is voluntary servitude. We CAN live free of sin by the Holy Spirit.
Regarding the issue of eternal security, to the general YT community, I submit that IF....IF.... our typical disposition as believers in Christ is to openly concede DEFEAT IN ADVANCE to a life of inevitable SIN in our lives as the STATUS QUO, then perhaps we should re-write 1 John 2:1 to read:
My little children, these things write I unto you, even though you're CERTAINLY going to sin anyway. And WHEN you do, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: SO JUST GO FOR IT!!
That is just an ABSURD position to take as a believer in Christ. Here's what 1John 2:1 REALLY says:
My little children, these things write I unto you, THAT YE SIN NOT. And IF any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
People seem to read 1Jn 1:8 and then just STOP there once they have enough to justify their FAILURE to put the deeds of the body to death by the Spirit. God does NOT command us and then FAIL to EMPOWER us to complete it! Repent of this!
Like wise my friend , and it was all God for it was he who foreknew me, called me, predestined me, justified me , and will glorify me, all praise belongs to the sovreing God of the bible
So again if you have no pride then stop, I know your ego is hurt because I said you cannot divide the scriptures proper, and that your teaching is dangerous and comes from heretics , do not respond to me, work on your salvation
I simply hold to the teaching of the bible, if you would like to label me fine, but I hold to the doctrines of grace, the true gospel which goes all the way back , not a new teaching from man sinless perfection
Why do you falsely accuse people of being a Calvinist or holding to all his teachings, do you not know it was called the doctrines of grace or the Gospel, that's a nick name to the five points.
But your post show non other than pride, but yet you are sinless perfectionist
Repent brother repent, I Would take a guess and say you never watched the video did ya
@greatestgiftis I don't recall saying you were a Calvinist directly, but your statements sound very much like that form of doctrine. If I did, I certainly apologize.
I assure you, I am not prideful, on the contrary, I have chastened my heart MUCH in the last month after 10+ years of living exactly as you profess to live. I have now found grace in God's eyes, having repented of my past sins and restored my relationship with my Saviour! He mercifully spared me from death so I could repent!
so what i say to you is, don't bother responding to me as you did before to start this conversation, i will not give scriptures back and forth with you for a debate, you want answers then go to
vekl channel, and yes its VEKL who hosted the video below, i spelled it wrong the first time down below. his got the video "BE YE PERFECT"
YOU WANNA debate someone then go to him, he is a True christian who rightly divides the word of God
@greatestgiftis I'm not interested in "debate" for the sake of debate. I am interested in speaking the truth in love, whether for your benefit or another person who may read this.
Jas 5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
I haven't watched your video yet, but I will do so shortly.
@KingdomChristian thank you but as I have stated I have the truth, and I'm not interested in a new gospel, I believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ who did for sin, and he who believes and is a true Christian now has a new nature, and that new nature comes from god, that man will strive to be obedient to god, and please god, he will fall after he has become a new Christian , he will fall and battle sin he will repent, but only when he is in heaven will be sinless, an sin no more
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres." (1 Cor. 13:4–7, NIV)
love with a human only allows for flaws such as “jealousy, suspicion, fear, anger, and contention.” According to Saint Augustine,
@greatestgiftis I do love my neighbor, that is why I am contending for the faith with him. I have no ill feelings toward you at all. I pray that you will find the truth, but I know you will be offended at my insistence that you do not have it yet. I have faith that God's Word is ALIVE and will yield much fruit, not returning void. If not for you, then perhaps for someone else reading this. I mean you no harm, but I care not if you are offended by the truth I put forth from the gospel of Christ.
Galatians 5:17 For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.
as i said a True christian battles sin, they repent of there sins, they don't justify them or say its ok, they Repent, and God chastises his children.
@greatestgiftis Well, the "sinful nature" is an NIV fallacy. We're talking about "sarx" which is just flesh and bones. Sin is not inherited from Adam. Yes, the desires of the flesh are contrary to the Spirit, but we MORTIFY the deeds of the flesh BY the Spirit.
1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
Calvinists would argue this verse is proof of a "sinful nature" inherited from Adam by which death comes to all men. But this is metaphysical hogwash...(cont)
@greatestgiftis (cont) But 1Co 15:22 is only saying that "For as in Adam (if we walk after the flesh like HE did) all die, even so (those who by FAITH walk NOT after the flesh, but after the Spirit) in Christ shall be made alive."
Instead of understanding this passage and living in the Spirit, Calvinists use the scriptures to justify continuing to live in SIN DAILY, in utter DEFEAT TO SIN. Eventually, there is no more "battle" as the Holy Spirit DEPARTS the defiled temple.
Romans 7:15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do
Romans 7:18 I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
Romans 7:23 but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members.
@greatestgiftis For you or anyone else who wants to see what consistent Calvinism relying on the wresting of Romans 7 to justify continuing in SIN leads to, please watch this video:
Php 3:10-12 To attain this perfection Paul is saying that had would have to die and be raised from the dead. And he's not speaking metaphorically. In this lifetime we inhabit bodies of "flesh", a word which in Greek is "sarx". This same word the NIV often translates "sinful nature". We cannot attain perfection while in this lifetime.
If one is not sure what or how dangerous and unbiblical sinless perfection is just google it, you should know it's a new teaching, study church history. Repent!
Brother Skelly's exegesis of this topic (and others) is irrefutable and will bring you into an understanding of the whole counsel of God on how to live morally and biblically "perfect" in holiness before God.
@KingdomChristian as your own words show you are mixed up and prideful, i say get a commentary because you cannot rightly divid the word of God, but then you said Sorry, I prefer the Holy Spirit.
but then what comes out of your mouth next is, go watch a MAN= Brother Kerrigan Skelly , thats pride right there you will listen to one man but will not go read anothers, then you lie because you say you prefer only to be taught by holy spirit , but listen to the teachings of MAN = Kerrigan Skelly
@greatestgiftis I do not need a commentary or "Google" to comprehend clear scripture. Neither do I rely upon Brother Skelly to do so on my behalf either. I have reviewed and checked this brother's doctrines and find them to be soundly scriptural and in line with the true gospel of Christ. Any time we read or listen to the words of another man, we are under obligation to verify and test what they say against the Word of God by the Spirit. God bless you for your attempt to slur me.
@KingdomChristian Christ died on the cross for sinners, it was grace that God would even do such a thing for man, second even after being born again the christian will strive to be obedient to God, and please him, but man will still sin, he will Not live a life of sin, i life that is evident that the man is not born again.
and for you to honestly say before God you love him with ( ALL of your HEART, SOUL, Mind and Body is a lie).
that means EVERY MINUT OF EVERY DAY all Thought etc are on him
@greatestgiftis It is by faithful obedience to Christ that I am able to fulfill His commandments and by this I have assurance that I abide in Him, and He abides in me. How is it that "man will still sin" but "he will not live a life of sin"?? Just how is that oxymoron possible? I guess for Calvin and his followers, that IS possible. But for followers of CHRIST, we have ceased from sin and put to death the deeds of the body by the Spirit, which is also how we can LOVE HIM and know HE loves US.
@KingdomChristian you can honestly ask the question how is it that man can still Sin after being born again christian, vs the man who is not saved living a life of sin, really that was a honest question, if it was then what I said definitely was not out of line when I said you cannot divide the scriptures proper, any one who has read the bible has seen the believer the Christian sin in it, i would recommend stay away from who ever is teaching you, because it's not the spirit
I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me." Php 3:10-12
@greatestgiftis If you want to know Christ's resurrection power, then you must FIRST DIE TO SIN and be buried WITH Him before you can ARISE to new life! If you must SIN every day and use HOLY SCRIPTURE to justify it, then you have failed to put the deeds of the body to death and the truth is not in you. Pressing ON means enduring to the end to take hold of eternal life after the resurrection from the dead. It's not the after-life attainment of "sinless perfection"...we're called to that NOW.
You set scripture against scripture, a Christian has no problem with the fact that we Are to live a life holy, and that we are to obey his commandments, no problem with that. We are to repent daily for our short comings , but a True Christian understand the word of God, We know that it is impossible to love God with all your heart soul and mind, and what happens if we stumble at one point of the law we are guilty of it all. Repent !
@greatestgiftis So you are saying God commanded us to do something we are INCAPABLE of doing? That's HOGWASH. God is not a tyrant, a despot, or unreasonable. He says BE YE HOLY because, BY THE SPIIRT....we CAN be Holy and BLAMELESS, putting to death the deeds of the body. Apart from Christ, we can do NOTHING...but we can do ALL THINGS through Christ which strengtheneth us! If you want to make excuses for SIN, changing the grace of our God into a license to sin, then do so at your own peril.
@greatestgiftis Herein is the HEART of your problem, friend. You deny that we are ABLE to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. The Calvinists falsely argue that we have TOTAL INABILITY, but that is a LIE. No...we are fully ABLE and equipped to fulfill God's law. God's issue with us is that we choose NOT TO and then blame HIM for giving us some "faulty flesh". Christ DIED so that we can DO what God COMMANDS us....to LOVE one another. Pray about this and you will see your error.
Notice I give scripture and the other fellow gives his own opinion his interpretation of the scripture what He thinks it is, Go get a good commentary , not a liberal one, then take a look at some of the passages, and a good commentary will give other vs use from old to new to show that it has to agree with scripture not mans opinions or interpretation of it, they will give you the Greek and the words used and you can see how strong the language is being used to state something, Repent!
@greatestgiftis Amazing! You advise me to get ANOTHER man's interpretation of scripture? No thanks, I'll stick with the Holy Spirit and I would advise YOU to do the same and stop wresting scripture.
This is on of the many dangerous doctrines that get invented by devils, non Christians who isolate scriptures , and set scripture against scripture , Scripture must interpret scripture Not contradict scripture, biblical hermenutics .
Man when saved is been sanctified, it's not instantaneous, it's a process , man will only be sinless, that is the true Christian when he reaches heaven in his glorified new body,no more sinful nature, that's what the bible teaches,
@greatestgiftis So how long does CEASING FROM SIN take? It's not a process... Your errant theology doesn't allow you to do what God COMMANDS you to do. You would rather explain away your responsibility by wresting scripture. Sinless Perfection is merely fulfilling the law of LOVE. Tell me, which of the commandments of Christ are you "unable" to CHOOSE to perform?
1John 1:8 states simply, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us
Hebrews 12:7-8 says, "If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons."
Only gods real children get chastised , after we are saved we are being sanctified , we are sinless only when we are glorified, Repent
@greatestgiftis You are wresting HOLY SCRIPTURE written by HOLY MEN OF OLD inspired of the HOLY SPIRIT to support your UNHOLY lifestyle. The whole reason John wrote these things is so that we MAY NOT SIN (Jn 2:1). John 1:8 is stating that we DO have sin on our record in the PAST. This distinguishes us from Christ who NEVER had ANY sin. But at our regeneration, we are CLEANSED by the blood of the LAMB! From this point, we are to CEASE from sin, but if we DO sin, we have an advocate.
@greatestgiftis Yes, we are chastened as sons, but if we refuse to hear that chastisement, what THEN? We risk DYING IN OUR SIN which CAN happen. It is a foolish thing to give place to sin or to underestimate its power to KILL US and send us to HELL.To believe we cannot ever be CUT OFF and BURNED as withered branches, instead falsely calling it a "loss of reward", constitutes self-deception and a restatement of Satan's original LIE...."Ye shall NOT surely die!" Believe that at your own PERIL.
@greatestgiftis 1Jn 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1Jn 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1Jn 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God PERFECTED: hereby know we that we are in him.
Those who like to use 1Jn 1:8 to justify the presence of SIN in their lives always conveniently FAIL to acknowledge the REST of 1Jn, especially the above passage.
The second thing to note is that James is using the example of a man being perfect as a ridiculous impossibility in his writing. He is stating that all men stumble in their words, and he says anyone who claims otherwise is claiming something as ridiculous as personal sinless perfection. Advocates of sinless perfection actually believe the very thing that James cites as a ridiculous, impossible example.
There are two things about sinless perfection to be drawn from James’ First off, James is stating that no man can tame even the tongue to the point of perfection, let alone his whole body. Advocates of sinless perfection are calling James a liar and are calling the Scripture a lie in this instance.
@greatestgiftis "Sinless Perfection" is just a straw-man term to avoid the REAL ISSUE...which is HOLINESS. Sadly, many people DO sin after being regenerated, but that isn't what Christ expects us to do. We are commanded to CEASE from sin and when we fail to hold up the standard of HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD, instead declaring "Once Saved, Always Saved!", then SIN is given a place to take root in the heart again and we DIE AGAIN. OSAS is false and wholly REFUTED by scripture and sound hermeneutics.
@KingdomChristian Actually, I mis-spoke here. Sinless Perfection is mis-USED as a straw-man. I think the best term is BIBLICAL PERFECTION or MORAL PERFECTION. It's not that we are physically, mentally, or fleshly perfect. It just means that we agree with God's laws and then CHOOSE to obey them ALWAYS, by the power of the resurrected Lord through the Spirit. The defenders of SIN, however, want us to believe that God's Word and our own FLESH is at fault for OUR disobedience. This is DEMONIC.
James writes, "For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body" (James 3:2). So, is James not saying here that a man can indeed be perfect? No, because only a few verses later, he comments, "But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison" (James 3:8).
@greatestgiftis James is speaking in HYPERBOLE, he's not setting forth some inexorable rule of nature. He's telling us how very difficult it is for MAN apart from the Holy Spirit to conquer the tongue and be in command of our conversation. You wrest this scripture to make it fit into your theological presuppositions, rather than take the CLEAR and WHOLE counsel of God on the matter. Instead of living HOLY, as we are COMMANDED, you prefer to manufacture EXCUSES FOR SIN. You need to repent.
One big flaw where Calvinism seems to get much power to deceive is in the misunderstanding of Imputed Righteousness. We do not RECEIVE the righteousness of Christ, we BECOME the righteousness of Christ by OUR FAITH. Consider that it was Abraham's faith that was credited to him (not TRANSFERRED from CHRIST) as righteousness. That is what happens with US after redemption...our PAST sins are forgiven, so we can then walk in newness of LIFE IN CHRIST unto good works. But those works...(cont)
@KingdomChristian (cont)...are not our own for we have been bought with a PRICE! Our good works are not the same as "works" of the Mosaic Law, but are good works meet for repentance according to the commandments of CHRIST IN LOVE. By no means do we ever EARN our salvation, it is FREE BY FAITH IN CHRIST BEFORE we can even DO any good works, but the good works we MUST DO thereafter bring God the glory for we are IN CHRIST and HE gets the glory for that righteousness...NOT US! We live FOR CHRIST!
@KingdomChristian Jesus wasn't born with a sinful nature my friend you were, And other thing you cannot tame your tongue it is Impossible and James says it's so ridicules to even think so let alone the whole body, James a Apostle of God would not have said that if it was possible, remember it was God who had him say it, so you do not believe the bible , and set scripture against scripture, that's why those who teach sinless perfection are non Christian
Actually both are kinda right, and both are kinda wrong, we are born with sin through Adam and EVe, but have a choice to follow Jesus and repent, and stop sinning, but the bible says we all fall short , we may not sin physically, but mentally we desire women, or have jealous hearts, or have hatred, therefore humans can not be perfect, but we must stop physical sin.
@Dudex58 Rom 3:23 says "For all HAVE SINNED and COME SHORT of the glory of God." SIN is not involuntary, it is a voluntary act of the free will of man, a voluntary CHOICE. That is why GUILT is present. The god of Calvin ordains "all things whatsoever comes to pass", which makes Calvin's god the author of SIN, empowering the false OSAS MYTHS which have RE-enslaved untold MILLIONS back into the slavery of SIN, of which I was one for 10+ years until just earlier this month! PRAISE HIS NAME!
You make it sound like Arminianism and Pelagianism are the same. I am a Calvinist, but Arminians are Christians, Pelagian's are not. This dude was not Arminian, but Pelagian.
keuker is going to hell for not knowing the True Holy God and what He says. Be ye perfect as your Father is in heaven! Otherwise throw the Bible away for lying, explain this scripture. Jesse is right, you are choosing to sin. When you say you have sin and then Jesus cleanses you from all unrighteousness and all sin not to go back to the mire!!! Keuker is rude and unbiblical and can't see the truth! Repent keuker or on that day you will be begging God for another chance and you will not get it.
Why do you lock your god up in a theological box? In Acts 10, Cornelius is told by an angel that God liked his prayers and gifts to the poor before he heard the gospel, got the Holy Spirit and was baptized. Being dogmatic about a theory, as you do, doesn't make it true. By they way, you can laugh and mock, but Jesse whooped your tail logically in person, you showed yourself dogmatic in your father's speculations (the murderous luther, calvin and catholics) on whom your theology and hope is set.
Man your claims are ridiculous... "Jesse doesn't know man's heart"? When you are re-born you're given a new heart and new desires---even in YOUR theology, you should realize the consistency you no longer have to sin.
You Calvinists liken your false god to a judge who would punish a baby who's born to a crack addict ---with eternal hell for being addicted to crack from birth. It's not "emotional"--you face the facts of bad theology.

Luke 6:37 "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven." If this man wants to believe these things, let him. It's not your place to decide what is right and wrong.

We are to identify with Christ!
lifepastor 5 months ago
@lifepastor "Thy word is truth." His word teaches election, adoption, chosen in Him and predestination without a doubt. Can the object (believer) influence the action of any of these words. No, no more than a president can elect himself or an orphan adopt a mother and father. Now those who think they can "go about to establish their own righteousness," do not think that they need God to choose them. They can handle it themselves. Do you know that the puritans were, what u call Calvinists?
Ebeneezerable 5 months ago
@Ebeneezerable But they just called it what Primitive Baptist,Jim Brown of Grace and Truth etc, call it: Doctrine of Election,Grace, predestination etc. Before the advent of "Freewill Theology"in the early to mid 1800's,it wasn't even called Calvinism. All that came from, well, the Armenians. So for those who accuse proprietors of the doctrines of Grace of being Calvinists, they are by the same token Armenians. So just identifying yourself as Armenian you are an idolater.Right neither am I an idolater
Ebeneezerable 5 months ago
@Ebeneezerable I agree with you about the word being truth and the word does teach those things. It is too bad that you can see those teaching but miss the obvious complete teaching of the word to live righteously as a Christian. Jesus said to remain in him. My problem is that people use these teachings as an excuse to live sinful filthy lives. They also use them as and excuse not to go to church and to ignore fundemental biblical structure and order. You guys always quote men not the word!
lifepastor 5 months ago
@lifepastor Not true. How sir do you know what kind of life I or anyone lives having never even met them? How is it that you know I dont go to church? What men have I quoted? Just because I agree with the reformers doesnt mean that I worship them or believe everything that they believe. For instance I dont agree with infant Baptism. There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. Rm.3:11. So did the puritans use it as an excuse to live "sinful filthy lives? Neither do I
Ebeneezerable 4 months ago
@Ebeneezerable I am not speaking directly to you but generally speaking about this doctrine. I do not know your habits but I can speak of those I know who believe this same doctrine and they my friend are deceived and do not know God!
lifepastor 4 months ago

Ebeneezerable 6 months ago

MayonR 6 months ago

His doctrines are heretical? But yours aren't?
Hmmm... I know a few rabbis who'd disagree with you.
Xenophile665 7 months ago
@Xenophile665 Christian rabbis? Or are you comparing apples to oranges?
Ebeneezerable 6 months ago
@Ebeneezerable Where do you see me saying "Christian rabbis?" I am saying that Christianity was considered heretical by Judaism, the faith that Jesus espoused, because of its doctrine of the Trinity, its doctrine of the Second Coming, and its misinterpretation of what the Messiah is supposed to be. Take a look at judaismDOTaboutDOTcom, Ask Rabbi Simmons, and look for the topic: Jesus as the Messiah.
Xenophile665 6 months ago
@Xenophile665 Exactly. Any religion is considered heresy to Judaism. You are comparing two different religions
Ebeneezerable 6 months ago
@Ebeneezerable I agree. But Christians claim that the OT is also the word of God. According to the rabbi, that means, in a paraphrase, that Christians do "lip service" to the god of the OT, but their "hearts are far from him," since they believe in "heresies" such as the doctrine of the Trinity.
Historically, Christianity has not said that it is a different religion from Judaism, but the logical conclusion of it.
Xenophile665 6 months ago
@Xenophile665 Precisely. For example the OT says you can't eat pork and dozens of other dietary laws, you can't touch a menstruating woman etc.Jesus said He was the fulfillment of the law and that loving the lord your God and your neighbor as yourself are what all of the law are contained in.Since keeping all of these laws was impossible (even for self righteous Jews)a more perfect sacrifice was needed, one prepared by God. That is why Jesus is called the lamb of God. By his stripes we are healed
Ebeneezerable 6 months ago
@Ebeneezerable Have you read Rabbi Simmons' article yet?
Xenophile665 6 months ago
@Ebeneezerable How does the "fulfillment of the law (i.e., the Torah)" come to mean the "end of the law?"
Xenophile665 6 months ago
@Xenophile665 I think I just gave a few examples and if you look it up you will find that the Law was our schoolmaster. If you want er if you think you can follow the Law go ahead. The Pharisees failed miserably according to the One who gave it and they were extremely devout. Paul said he counted it as dung. As for me I'll stick with loving the Lord my God and my neighbor with all my heart as Christ said.
Ebeneezerable 6 months ago
@Ebeneezerable Paul said he counted it as "dung." Jesus, however, said that not one jot of it would be abolished until all be fulfilled.
So which one should you listen to?
Xenophile665 6 months ago
@Xenophile665 I have to take the whole of the scripture my friend. Should I be circumcised according to the law? Did Jesus come to the gentiles or the "LOST SHEEP OF ISRAEL?" "...a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. ," - Gal. 2:16 Again apples to oranges.
Ebeneezerable 6 months ago
@Ebeneezerable No, you're taking Paul's interpretation. Jesus said otherwise.
Not that it matters to me. The great number of contradictions in the Bible suffice for me. It makes me realize that people will believe anything, if you repeat it enough times. (And don't tell me, "Those contradictions are only apparently so. You have to read it in context, and interpret it correctly." I've read and understood the contexts. As for "interpretation," that's the apologists' word for "spin.")
Xenophile665 6 months ago
@Xenophile665 Jesus came to the Jews Paul brought His Gospel to the gentiles. This is all covered in the book of Acts and Romans mainly but also Hebrews and others such as Galatians 2:16 which I've already quoted. John and Paul had a debate over this and God showed him in a vision that the elect gentiles were Christians not Jews under the Law. Therefore they did not have to be circumcised. How is it that people think they can judge someone by the very religion which they reject? It's impossible
Ebeneezerable 6 months ago
@Ebeneezerable Yes, I've heard it all before. I've also heard from a sincere friend that orthodox Christianity is heretical, and that it will lead its followers to Hell. And he is devout and concerned about you, me, and anyone who doesn't believe his faith. Why shouldn't I listen to him?
Xenophile665 6 months ago
@Xenophile665 Then why do you keep getting involved in conversations in which you keep hearing the same thing over and over. Does it fill a void in your life? I don't know, maybe you should listen to him.
Ebeneezerable 6 months ago
@Ebeneezerable Repitition does not bore me. Hearing the same thing over and over helps me to keep my reasoning capabilities sharper. And, on occassion, I have found an honest truth-seeker on YouTube.
You stated, "I don't know, maybe you should listen to him." Does that mean that you aren't certain about the validity of your faith?

That would in fact be silly. And if I wanted to change lives I can cure something thats already been cured? And trying to account for science through circular argumentation. come on.

@martin10921 Yes I was suggesting you cure polio again that makes perfect sense.

KingdomChristian 11 months ago
KingdomChristian 11 months ago
@angelcitydarkroom "Bar Mitzvah" means "he who is subject to the commandments". Also, Christ says in Mat 19:14 ...Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Children are morally innocent and have no knowledge of God's laws...they only have natural desires of fleshly urges which are NOT inherently sinful. SIN is conceived in the heart when we CHOOSE to fulfill our fleshly desires in an unlawful manner against God's laws.
KingdomChristian 11 months ago
@angelcitydarkroom Finally, we must consider that Christ had the very same flesh that we did. He was not conceived by natural union of man/woman, but he was still IN THE FLESH that we have with all the same lusts and desires. This is how he was able to be TEMPTED in all points like as we are (Hebrews 4:15). Temptation is NOT SIN, but giving IN to temptation IS SIN. So, I have given you irrefutable proof in scripture that SIN is NOT INHERITED. I could go on with more, but this should suffice.
KingdomChristian 11 months ago
@angelcitydarkroom Now, how to live SIN FREE? Well, it's a choice, just like anything else God wants for us, we must first believe and have faith. If you do not believe it is possible, then you will not do it. Secondly, you must know that we are COMMANDED to live without sin. But are we ABLE to do this? Yes, but we must rely on the power of the Holy Spirit and for that we MUST ABIDE IN CHRIST. God is JUST and He will not command us to do something without giving us the MEANS and POWER to do it.
KingdomChristian 11 months ago
KingdomChristian 11 months ago
@angelcitydarkroom Now, I will warn you in advance, there are many who will try to deceive you. Take NO MAN'S word for any doctrine, including mine. Check everything against scripture and by earnest prayer and fasting in the Spirit! The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth of scripture and it is by the Spirit that you WILL receive truth and power to do ALL the Lord commands you to do to HIS glory. The Holy Spirit is given to them that repent, believe, and obey. Jn 7:39, Acts 2:38, & 5:32
KingdomChristian 11 months ago
Did I get this guy right? Did he say that sin wasn't inherent ? That's total unbiblical. We are by no means without sin and can not be total sin free. We can turn from our sins and ask for them do be forgiven. Repenting is a daily and ongoing process. And this once saved, always saved is bull. It does away with freewill if it's so. This guy on the most part is correct, but dealing with a college group, he's got his hands full. They are very liberal on campus these days.
angelcitydarkroom 11 months ago
@angelcitydarkroom What he's saying is that "sin" is not a substance that we inherit from Adam, that is a lie told and supported by those who seek to justify continuing in their sin. These are the very people Jude warned us about who turn the grace of God into a license to sin. Sin is transgression of God's law (1Jn 3:4). There is no "sin nature" that magically forces us to sin against our will. We are slaves to sin, but it is voluntary servitude. We CAN live free of sin by the Holy Spirit.
KingdomChristian 11 months ago
Regarding the issue of eternal security, to the general YT community, I submit that IF....IF.... our typical disposition as believers in Christ is to openly concede DEFEAT IN ADVANCE to a life of inevitable SIN in our lives as the STATUS QUO, then perhaps we should re-write 1 John 2:1 to read:
My little children, these things write I unto you, even though you're CERTAINLY going to sin anyway. And WHEN you do, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: SO JUST GO FOR IT!!
KingdomChristian 11 months ago
That is just an ABSURD position to take as a believer in Christ. Here's what 1John 2:1 REALLY says:
My little children, these things write I unto you, THAT YE SIN NOT. And IF any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
People seem to read 1Jn 1:8 and then just STOP there once they have enough to justify their FAILURE to put the deeds of the body to death by the Spirit. God does NOT command us and then FAIL to EMPOWER us to complete it! Repent of this!

Galatians 5:17 For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.
as i said a True christian battles sin, they repent of there sins, they don't justify them or say its ok, they Repent, and God chastises his children.
greatestgiftis 11 months ago
@greatestgiftis Well, the "sinful nature" is an NIV fallacy. We're talking about "sarx" which is just flesh and bones. Sin is not inherited from Adam. Yes, the desires of the flesh are contrary to the Spirit, but we MORTIFY the deeds of the flesh BY the Spirit.
1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
Calvinists would argue this verse is proof of a "sinful nature" inherited from Adam by which death comes to all men. But this is metaphysical hogwash...(cont)
KingdomChristian 11 months ago
@greatestgiftis (cont) But 1Co 15:22 is only saying that "For as in Adam (if we walk after the flesh like HE did) all die, even so (those who by FAITH walk NOT after the flesh, but after the Spirit) in Christ shall be made alive."
Instead of understanding this passage and living in the Spirit, Calvinists use the scriptures to justify continuing to live in SIN DAILY, in utter DEFEAT TO SIN. Eventually, there is no more "battle" as the Holy Spirit DEPARTS the defiled temple.

@KingdomChristian Christ died on the cross for sinners, it was grace that God would even do such a thing for man, second even after being born again the christian will strive to be obedient to God, and please him, but man will still sin, he will Not live a life of sin, i life that is evident that the man is not born again.
and for you to honestly say before God you love him with ( ALL of your HEART, SOUL, Mind and Body is a lie).
that means EVERY MINUT OF EVERY DAY all Thought etc are on him
greatestgiftis 11 months ago
@greatestgiftis It is by faithful obedience to Christ that I am able to fulfill His commandments and by this I have assurance that I abide in Him, and He abides in me. How is it that "man will still sin" but "he will not live a life of sin"?? Just how is that oxymoron possible? I guess for Calvin and his followers, that IS possible. But for followers of CHRIST, we have ceased from sin and put to death the deeds of the body by the Spirit, which is also how we can LOVE HIM and know HE loves US.
KingdomChristian 11 months ago

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me." Php 3:10-12
greatestgiftis 11 months ago
@greatestgiftis If you want to know Christ's resurrection power, then you must FIRST DIE TO SIN and be buried WITH Him before you can ARISE to new life! If you must SIN every day and use HOLY SCRIPTURE to justify it, then you have failed to put the deeds of the body to death and the truth is not in you. Pressing ON means enduring to the end to take hold of eternal life after the resurrection from the dead. It's not the after-life attainment of "sinless perfection"...we're called to that NOW.
KingdomChristian 11 months ago
You set scripture against scripture, a Christian has no problem with the fact that we Are to live a life holy, and that we are to obey his commandments, no problem with that. Repent !
greatestgiftis 11 months ago
@greatestgiftis So you are saying God commanded us to do something we are INCAPABLE of doing? That's HOGWASH. God is not a tyrant, a despot, or unreasonable. Only gods real children get chastised , after we are saved we are being sanctified , we are sinless only when we are glorified, Repent
greatestgiftis 11 months ago
KingdomChristian 11 months ago
@greatestgiftis Yes, we are chastened as sons, but if we refuse to hear that chastisement, what THEN? We risk DYING IN OUR SIN which CAN happen. It is a foolish thing to give place to sin or to underestimate its power to KILL US and send us to HELL.To believe we cannot ever be CUT OFF and BURNED as withered branches, instead falsely calling it a "loss of reward", constitutes self-deception and a restatement of Satan's original LIE...."Ye shall NOT surely die!" Believe that at your own PERIL.

The second thing to note is that James is using the example of a man being perfect as a ridiculous impossibility in his writing. He is stating that all men stumble in their words, and he says anyone who claims otherwise is claiming something as ridiculous as personal sinless perfection. Advocates of sinless perfection actually believe the very thing that James cites as a ridiculous, impossible example.
greatestgiftis 11 months ago
@greatestgiftis Again, James is using HYPERBOLE and you are using a STRAW-MAN. You wrest James against PETER:
1Pe 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
KingdomChristian 11 months ago
There are two things about sinless perfection to be drawn from James’ First off, James is stating that no man can tame even the tongue to the point of perfection, let alone his whole body. Advocates of sinless perfection are calling James a liar and are calling the Scripture a lie in this instance.
greatestgiftis 11 months ago

Dudex58 11 months ago

We are commanded to stop sinning.
