  • Beautyful! Better than oryginal. Congratulations ;)

  • Would have like to see more of your ride and a little bit more on the interior. Good job though. Spot on. Lambo did not have a problem with you calling it a Lambo?

  • Determination. Can create miracles. Holy crap. I'm fucking amazed.

  • You just brought a tear to me eye I tell ya LOL Damn sweet ride you have skills and after everyone sees this video. I`m sure you will land a job where you can buy one with no prob. Talent like that is hard to find your AMAZING!

  • sweet space ship

  • respect

  • Nice!!!

  • beautifull, but why don´t u go for a V12

  • Comment removed

  • @Ammageddon89 hehehee don´t get me wrong... sounds amazing and my full respect to the builder... I would love to build my owen, but in germany its not that easy... but I think its a question of what u personaly want in that car... and there are not much options for a powerfull V12 ?? The V8´s are easy´er to tune I think....

    w.b.r. Arne

  • @FireballGER yeah i know that its hard to build your own. der tüv in deutschland hat ja auch einen an der waffel :P well you can take a BMW M70 fo instance, 5 Liter of V12 goodness, relatively easy to tune and even without tuning it got enough power (300hp) (Schreibe übrigens in englisch damit das alle verstehen ;) )

  • Looks better than an original. Now thats saying something! Astounding car!!!

  • Good for this guy...he actually built something on his own that he wanted...it's better than those shitty replicas built on shitty Fieros...at least he knows what he has...so what if it's not real...HE BUILT IT HIMSELF! How many of you haters have built anything except calluses on your hands from jerking off at the keyboard?

  • Respect for this man and his selfmade machine.

  • 95% right is still wrong. If you're going to build your own "creation", make it totally original.

  • this is awesome!

  • to all who complain about the body lines and how it isnt "perfect". The guy was making the car with the idea of his own perfect version in his mind. Not exact replica. The original cars were jalopies anyway. Poor fitment of panels and terribly unreliable motors. So go smoke some weed and play video games on your moms couch while others lead the way. ALot of talkers out there.

  • @baxterscientific Looks perfectly fine to me :D

  • very neat story

  • pretty cool...the body style is very nice...good pick for the vehicle to build...and you left the Lambo motor to the real Lambos...but the motor Lambo put into their production countach sucked and was a snail with a lambo emblem

  • stock countach is a garbage car... body is still etched in my mind from childhood... ill build one thank you very much

  • A true masterpiece of engineering, motivation and imagination, amazing! I personally would rather have this than the real thing but I am sure opinions vary.

  • That guy is my uncle

  • What an amazing car.

  • Too bad most kids today only know how to turn up the volume on the stereo and whine about Man Made Global Warming, which is a hoax.

  • With the resources available to him, it is as good a job as anyone could have done. So, I mean him no disrespect by saying this: It is not 100 % body correct. The forward wheel wells ( haunches) are overly pronounced. The real thing has more elegant lines in that respect and blend in more smoothly with the other panels!

  • @MORCOPOLO0817 I thought the same thing about the forward wheel wells. But that's really the only error I can find with the car. Of course, other than the liberties he took with the velocity stacks coming up out of the rear deck, but those were obviously not errors, as he clearly meant to depart from the design there.

  • @tpaladino The door windowline is completely wrong.

  • Is it just me, or have I gone deaf.

  • I'm not a fan of Countach replicas cos I love the car too much. But this is different. It looks amazing and those rims are gorgeous!1 Very very nice work bro!!

  • i will trade you a 1986 countach that has been in storage for 5 years, runs and drives but needs restoration, I own and love panteras and your car would be a nice addition to my collection let me know

  • Dude, I love your car

  • Looks to much like a fiero. Not streched enough and front end looks really wierd!

  • oh shit it sounds more like a big truck than a lambo....nice job anyway

  • is u work for 17 years u can buy a original 1 :P i'm just saying :))

  • this is from Ripleys belevei it or not:

Ken Imhoff took 17 years to build his own lamborgini sports car in the cellar of his Wisconsin home, only to find out that he had no way of getting it out. so he hired an ecxavater to gouge a slope out in his garden and then dig down into the foundations of the house so that the newly built car could be pulled out.

id say that 17 years of building that countach payed off lol nice car man nice car. ^_^

  • So this is a kit car right? It looks amazing!

  • not a kit car, made from scratch, each panel meticulously measured from a real countach, all the panels are hand formed and true to the real thing. this, sir is no kit car.

  • Oh I see, its one hell of a project anyways and mad props to the builder for devotion and consistancy!

  • @ ieatyooz

definately its the SSC Ultimat aero TT.

its the Veyron killer, and its looks great.

or the Chapparell 2J. check that out

  • 17 years spent for this? lol

  • Thats a sweet vehicle :)

  • What car do you believe has the best aerodynamic shape?

    I'd say Pagani Zonda R?

  • I say pontiac fiero

  • i like it..... especially since it has such a nice powerful V8

  • sweet!

  • V8's should never be put into a replica

  • @supranick666 ...You should be commenting about turbo's or something.....shhhhhh

  • Sweet ride!

  • the funny thing is that this is my uncles lambo its a 1985 lamborghing countach 5000s is got a 351 small block bored running a little over 515 in horsepower and about the same in torque

  • Wheels are so old skool....but god do they look good!!!

  • Why does this have more views on it than the original one?

  • Countach ?

  • how dedicated can u be?

  • it sounds great

  • boils down to italian looks american muscle.

    great combo.car would be asve.

  • that would be cool

  • Attention Viewers this is NOT a KIT! This guy spent 17 years of his life to build his dream BY HAND! Who among the faithful today would put forth such an effort? Who would have the various skills required to form the aluminum, weld the steel, configure the angles, turn every nut : moreso in fact than those real Lambos being turned out production style in Italy. I just wish I had a wife who is that understanding to endure his dream throughout all the parenting years and stress. Two thumbs UP

  • imagine the satisfaction he feels, looking at the finished product, driving it.

    incredible. man and machine.

  • he's ALi G

  • Do your research before calling people an idiot, you idiot. This is Ken Imhoff. He made the Lamborghini himself from scratch. Google for Basement lamborghini, you arrogant fool and please stop being a know it all prick. It makes Canada look bad.

  • Idiot. Fieros do not have V-8 engines in it. This is not a kit Lamborghini based off a Fiero.

  • wow ever heard of an engine swap? idiot.

  • teedot: This guy built this car from the ground up. No kit. I have been racing for yrs and from what I have seen on this car, I bet it would beat a real one by a large margin. Not to mention it clearly has a better chassis. So what it's not made by Lamborghini. It is a better car. Do you know anything about the real ones? They are really kinda hunks. Beautifull but quality leaves a bit to be desired.

  • In a straight drag it might pull faster than a lambo, might.

But the rest of the performance? The lambo would eat it alive.

Why? Because it is an untested, single production prototype with GUARANTEED flaws.

Take that turn at 60mph and find out how good your weld really is.

Still, very impressive because of the passion invested. Thumbs up.

by the way, i know lambo. I own one. I hate replicas, except this one. because it is the essence of lamborghini.

  • Very true, it depends on how much he knows about cars. I kinda assumed he has the ability and knowledge of suspensiom geometry ect. The performance potential of a hand built car can vary wildly depending on the skill of the builder. A skilled builder can build a car that can out perform a mass produced car fairly easily but we don't really know how skilled he is. It looks great but there is more to it than looks.

  • Most auto makers like Lamborghini road test their chassis, suspension, drive train for thousands of hours before going to production. Things break, alignment adjustments, gremlins in the mechanics. To get it right on the first try is impossible, but at least this mans project actually drives!

He's no amateur, but if you ask him to post some vids of the car doing 190mph, he would rather sit in the electric chair.

I have vids of my real lambo doing 188. Check them out.

  • The thing is, it's not rocket science. A good chassis, weight balance and suspension. The hardest part really is suspension design and geometry.(caster camber through travel) You have to remember a factory car has build limitations you do not have with a fabricated car. They have to balance what will work best with the ability to make lots of them. Again, I don't know his skill level but I have been off roading for yrs and it's not that hard. There is no magic involved

  • Yes, there is magic involved. Superior design and engineering is a form of magic. Something built in the garage (or basement) is questionable. If he built formula 1 cars for 15 years, or NASCAR, then I would say 'wow, let me drive it'.

Go to the Lamborghini dealership in you closest town and drive one. You will feel the magic. I guarantee it.

  • That's why I say I don't know his skill level. It took me several attempts before I made a really good off road car.

I have never driven a Countach. I have ridden in one once and raced against them many times in a 512BBI. To be honest, the Ferrari is more refined but you can't beat the Lamborghini looks. It also kinda started the supercar thing. Can't speak on performance because when I was racing, none of the cars were stock. Looked at a few of your vids. Big project you got going. Nice!

  • cont. Where do you get parts here. LOL Yes, I recognized the mountain. I am just off of Paseo Del Norte on the east end.

  • that might be, but it could also be the other way around. maybe this guy built a car that would blow a real lambo away. on the other hand you might be able to find a pinto that drives better. but if this guy likes it than congratulations to him. one of the few people who can build their own car, even if they are replicating something.

  • What impresses me the most is his ability to do the sheet metal. From what I can tell, it looks nearly perfect.

  • Yes, that is his trade. And it is aluminum, even harder to work with.

    impressive

  • batmobile? XD

  • haha thats my uncle in the red shirt

  • beautiful car ,rims ,color just perfect

  • this car is 20 years old and look still looks awesome

  • Definitely a good video! I always see so many nonsense videos on you tube now. Most of them are pretty funny, but it's nice to see these kinds of videos once in a while.

  • 17 years of work for a fake lambo.

if he would have just saved $3K/year, he could have bought a real one at the end of 17 years.

  • I bet he is very proud of his achivement.? Building it is part of the fun ? I think created the car he loves, with his own hands.

  • $51000 isn't enough for a real Countach, BubblesTroubles :)

  • You forget compounding interest. Anyway, to Bubbles, this guy's garnered way more motorhead respect then your guy that goes out and buys a Countach. It's got a story behind it that you can't get by plopping money down on something. Any schmoe can save money (mostly) but it takes way more skill to build your own entire car.

  • It's the most beautiful ugly car in the world.

  • nice! ME LIKEEEE!!!

  • you really think so? you really, really believe that?

  • is this the lambo that they had to tunnel thru the front lawn to get out of the basement?

  • Honestly the car is ugly, but there is just something about it that makes you think, "WOW that is sweet!." I have never sat or driven that kind of car but I can imagine that 1) It would be a pain to drive around in any city 2) Hard to get in and out of 3) Hard to judge if you are going to hit anything with the nose of the car because it is so long and curves down.

But in any case I would love to have that car!

  • sick!!

    looks like an ant eater

  • no sound at the 20 second mark, car sounds so good though

  • Word.
