@peanutapt Tip: Buy a really cheap video camera, attach it to a homemade s.t.e.dica.m. out on a long boom, then just practice, practice, practice. For the first 10 runs, you might wrap the camera well in cushion material, at least it can prevent some breakage & major dents in the camera. Oh, and choose a funky, cheap used car to film. Good lick!
@elibaba7 They look at playback(if shooting film, then they refine the shooting for the next runs/takes. If you're shooting a car commercial, the editors can work around a camera reflection, after all, some running-footage for TV spots may have 40 to 50 cuts in 30 seconds.
When I watch a car commercial TV, and see reflection of the camera or a crew member. Given what high budgets they have, I find that unacceptable.
@DramaKidStudioz When driving to the shooting location, the boom has to be secured and often times have a red flag on it(or a follow car). When you're shooting on the road, you need to hire two highway patrol to hold traffic at each end of a shooting zone. A few PA's at each end do flagging to slow traffic before the road block. After each take(or two) the camera car pulls to the side and the regular traffic is released.
