  • This song was played at my nephew's funeral 7 days ago. This will always be Richard's song now. Man, I miss you Kid! He would have been at Massey Hall in February for sure.

  • @Calicalico May he rest in peace.... Im sad for you!

  • quite a catchy song

  • This is really impressive, the lyrics are smart and moving and it sounds wonderful. Great job :)

  • i heard him play this at the vic on the 23 it was great!!!!

  • It should be known that this is the voice that the people in the bible heard.

  • They played this at my dads funeral i cant stop listening to it

  • Does anyone know who's supporting him at the Roundhouse next week?!

  • I really want this played at my funeral. not sure why exactly

  • Dallas Green also was or still is in a screamo/hardcore band called alexisonfire. He kills it in both genres

  • @etack1245 This is false information, AOF has been broken up for almost 2 months now.

  • @TCon902 if you would read my comment correctly i put "was or still is" in AOF. I didnt know whether or not they broke up, so i left it open for suggestion. Not false information, simply stating what i knew.

  • hahh i came here cuz of this vid i saw of a dude smokin pot :D

  • what a great song

  • what a great song

  • Art. Nuff said!

  • Knock the God talk off please... We all just came to enjoy Dallas's voice.

  • Love it!!! <3

  • dallas, I am LITERALLY in love with you.

you are a poet. you are a god.

  • On a Dallas Green song...really? How did it even get started? Just listen to the wonders of his voice please.

  • god doesn't exist and the big bang is the most retarded thing i have ever heard of the universe was never created it always was and always will be so everyone arguing about religion suck on that

  • @cannibalslayer13 i agree

  • @cannibalslayer13 ok mr. know it all, how did the human race come about to be?

  • I always this is a Neil Young song at the start until he starts singing lol

  • Dallas Green has made I think 2 anti-religious songs now, I highly doubt there's an angel in him anywhere. :3

  • @Dabigcheezeable what are you talking about...

  • @Dabigcheezeable last time i recall "soul's searching for the light" has to do with finding heaven...Stop being so simple minded

  • @Enstromfromthepoint I'm not being simple minded, have you heard the bonus track on Little Hell? And 'I don't need to know' from Bring Me Your Love? Kinda anti religious....

  • @Dabigcheezeable no you are being simple minded lol...all he is saying is that he does not know his own fate and he does not know what to believe because the world is full of lies...isn't this how we all feel some times DO you know if there is actually a heaven and a hell and God and Satan? no you do not..but thats not what matters its what you have faith in..

  • @Dabigcheezeable did you notice in both of those songs that he left the question open? hints the name "I dont need to know" meaning he does not need to know the truth or lies to change what he believes

  • @Enstromfromthepoint Now you are being simple minded not being able to accept the fact that he may not be religious...You do have a point though, I'm not going to continue to argue on a video of my favourite artist.

  • @Enstromfromthepointin "make believe" he states:

But I tend to believe that it's all for not,

And when the sun does set, all our souls will rot.

Along with our flesh and our bones and our blood,

Will seep into the earth reconnecting with the mud.

And I think to myself, what a beautiful lie.

  • @Enstromfromthepoint this means that he does not believe in becoming one with the earth...what does he believe? i dont know...its not what he thinks right or wrong...its what the listener thinks....i know what i believe...do you? STOP BEING SO SIMPLE MINDED

  • Saw this in Ancaster, Ontario. Loved it, keep on killing it Dallas.

  • i saw City and Colour play yesterday at the festival of friends, in ancaster ontario. they played this song so nicely. keep on rocking dallas.

  • I want this played at my funeral :D

  • Follow Colin Buckingham art on Facebook. I am doing lots of paintings based on City and Colour. Like my page to follow my art

  • =]

  • as i have always said god put an angel in his throat

  • as i have always said god put an angel in his throat

  • The very first band where I haven't found a single song I don't like.

  • Only started listening to Dallas about a week ago? so glad i did! Amazing <3

  • city and colour is the fuckin best.

  • Material world makes material music. Great music is from the soul, not from the bottom of a bottle of "crunk juice".

  • 9 people don't know shit!

  • Why he isnt SUPER famous unlike some of these stupid people that are, is beyond me!!

  • @CanadianChick131 the sad part is that him along with many other great artist are not super famous because they are not commercial and they are to deep for the stupid masses to understand. true music can change a person and dallas def has that touch.

  • @montest23 indeed. he is a maestro.

  • the greatest song ever written

  • It's like I wrote this song.... Dallas Green I love all of your lyrics/songs/melody... I wanna start playing guitar just to play your songs.

  • i love this song. it kind of reminds me of wagon wheel by old crow medicine show :)

  • @JacquelineAnneMorgan i thought u were going to say wagon wheel by against me. i got excited there for a second...

  • Absolutely beautiful

  • 5 people don't know good music

  • The dedication of this song in halifax last night was touching on such a surreal level. Thank you Dallas.

  • So good... I mean.. this is what real music is about.

  • seen him in halifax tonight , thumbs up if you did too!

it was so cute when he dedicated it to that father <3

  • [insert number of dislikes] don't know what real music is.

    (:

  • @BoyzDoingSexyThings haha ya i was trying so hard to think of something, and that was all i could think of(:

  • 5 people have never found a body in a box

  • @crossmyheart1996 haha that was kinda funny butttt the song is about him not wanting to be burried when he dies.. so it would be more like 5 people found a body in a box.

  • best.song.ever.

  • for you harmonica players out there, play with an A harmonica. notes used with the harmonica part are around holes 6 through 9. i'm better at improvising myself, so i could play along with the entire song if i wanted to.

  • @themediocrenontheist clearly you didnt pay attention. he was getting through all that to hang with his close friends instead of all the nonsense. so nice try and good job you watched his most "famous" song which isnt his best video. also its about the song not the video. im not mad im just saying i dont see why you even replied with no validity.

  • Cant wait to see you guys this year. I've been sooooo.... long!!! ;)~

  • I love this mans' lyrics. They're beautiful, and this song makes me happy actually lol. Well atleast bright spirited

  • well, i love the rhythm, but i think the song is a little bit TOO much emo... but its a beautiful song anyway.

  • One of my favourite songs EVER!!!! <3

  • It's safe to say that the 5 faggots that clicked the dislike button like Justin Bieber.

  • dallas green and anthony green should make aband

  • at first I was like =\

but then I was like =]

  • This will be played when I die.

  • @thesk8rgirlz Wrong jonny craig.

  • @NargelSauce Jonny Craig has some decent vocals, but I've seen a few of his lyrics, as well as one of his videos. The video I refer to has him walking around a house during a party, with women making out, hitting on him, fights going on in the background, etc. It's obvious what kind of image he would like people to attribute to him, and it's so transparently ostentatious. Dallas Green seems so much more soulful, modest, contemplative, and above all, genuine/sincere.

  • i saw this guy when i was in Hamilton lol.

  • Best Canadian artist EVER! :) <3

  • @TheSk8rgirlz correction... best CANADIAN ever.

  • @ kirsty4564 actually it is spelled not spelt. Spelled is the past and past participle of the word spell. Spelt is a word but it's a wheat like substance

  • @Ocelotsofus Nothing like a youtube grammar lesson.

  • @jorsak I had to respond to her. She was giving wrong info and that irks me dude haha

  • @Ocelotsofus LOL!. I'm an English major. I understand.

  • Wow. I'd never heard of City + colour but the lead singer's voice...wow. Seriously gave me goose bumps <3

  • @TheForgottenAcoustic city and colour is one guy. his name is Dallas Green. "he" is called city and colour because dallas=city and Green=colour. hope you keep listenin to him. he is unreal!

  • 5 people choke on man eggs for a living.

  • i actually like this song lol

  • lovelovelovelovelove<3

  • hah.. i just love this song.

  • 5 people are planning on not dying...

  • AMAZING!

  • does anyone know if Dallas uses a click track when he records his songs?

  • gives me shivers

  • 5 people are masturbating with chainsaw.

  • Love this uncontrollably.

  • is it twisted to want this played at my funeral?

  • @koigecko I was actually thinking the same thing. Haha.

  • @koigecko Totally thought about that too lol

  • @koigecko no i don't think so, I want it played at my funeral.. It's a sad thought but I think this song is about leaving the chaotic world we live in and going to a better place. As strange as it may seem, I feel personally that this song will be a celebration of my death some day.

  • @koigecko ha no, it's not.

  • such a sad song

  • is this an inappropriate funeral song?

  • @bradleythebear17 i hope so cause they are playing it at mine... i hope.. hah

  • I really love that synthesizer beat that comes in at like 2:02.

it just really starts to add to the song.

  • @Link5252 I't an organ not a synth :)

  • This man is an amazing musician. He deserves more credit than he gets.

  • a good song to play on the campfire :D

  • I dedicate this to Esther, the most courageous nerdfighter of all. Rest in peace.

  • <--------------- dont click here

  • Thank you Last.fm :')

  • Dallas Green is Jesus.

  • i hate new youtube

  • it seems like all the greatest artists have the last name green. anthony green, dalas green. amazing lyrics. amazing voices. and they are different in the best ways.

  • A man who understands the meaning of good music! He doesn't follow the mainstream and just writes his own songs. Simple, but fantastic.

  • dallas green doesnt try to be anybody. dallas green is himself. and with his lyrics and his singing voice, he creates beautiful, beautiful music. he doesnt realise it but the truth is he is the best thing to come out of modern music EVER.

  • @woohoo4mee and i dont see how y young child you ask today will have the answer "ive never heard of him" its just sad how someone with a voice as beautiful as Dallas' isnt appreciated by the amount of people he should be

  • @Samandkai Less known artists like Lisa Hannigan, Damien Rice, Xavier Rudd or Dallas Green probably wouldn't be the same if they were known as well. If those artists were played on a daily basis on the radio, it simply wouldn't be the same. I believe the fact that they aren't terribly rich and all over the news is something that makes those artists what they are as well, which in turn is shown in their music. Value them like rare diamonds. ;)

  • @NiklasWalendy well , i have one problem with your theory, i like dallas a lot , but right now, could you tell me who the lead singer is of alexisonfire ?

i love this music, i love dallas, but you cant reallly say dallas isnt well known, or rich, because im sure he's fairly wealthy, Hes no bill gates, but im positive hes living an above average life in an very above average home

  • @uberdeater I've been aware of that. You must consider though that you're Canadian and he's mostly known in Canada, so Canada put apart, not that many know him, he's not a world star with Paparazzi chasing him everywhere. So you happen to have a different perspective/perception than I do. I'm pretty sure all the other artists I've mentioned can live off their music as well. But they're still not nearly as hyped and overproduced as Britney Spears for instance.

  • @uberdeater not many people know him around here.

  • @uberdeater - George Pettit. (His middle name happens to be Logan...if you were wondering)

  • @woohoo4mee lol yat the fact you spent time to write this

  • sounds a bit like under the moonlight by travis. think i prefer this tho

  • Check out our cover of Body In A Box on our channel! Hope you dig it!

  • has this song been on any movies?

  • His songs always make me reconsider what I thought to be true. I love his voice, beard, and the meanings behind his songs, ( in no particular order)

  • im doin a cover of this song :D

  • I think Dallas Green is one of the most talented men on the earth.

    He's my favorite artist :)

he's absolutely amazing live as well!

    i love you dallas! <3
