The video I refer to has him walking around a house during a party, with women making out, hitting on him, fights going on in the background, etc. It's obvious what kind of image he would like people to attribute to him, and it's so transparently ostentatious. Dallas Green seems so much more soulful, modest, contemplative, and above all, genuine/sincere.

If those artists were played on a daily basis on the radio, it simply wouldn't be the same. You must consider though that you're Canadian and he's mostly known in Canada, so Canada put apart, not that many know him, he's not a world star with Paparazzi chasing him everywhere. But they're still not nearly as hyped and overproduced as Britney Spears for instance.
