The ones who don't get you sir are the ones who fear the release of their tightly clenched teeth free from the tit of a broken 2 party system. Bob Barr simply makes sense. This is why he rules. This is why he is not a spoiler. This is why the other guys suck. Bob Barr 2008 for certain
I find it fasinating that the Libertains are generally seen as to the "right" of repubilcans. As I listen more and more, it seems to me to be a perfect balance between liberal and conservitive positions. It's a shame the hoops (pitition signitures)that any "third party" has to go through to just get on a states' ballot.
Wrong. The fundamental premise, such as it is, of libertarianism has nothing in common with either of the contemporary liberal or conservative political theories.
Hmmmmmm.......... * Worked for the CIA * Former drug war prosecutor * Member of the Speaker's Task Force for a Drug-Free America * Voted for the Patriot Act
look at what he is fighting for now. legalizing medicinal marijuana, ending the war on grugs, abolishing the patriot act, and repealing the majority of the defence of marriage act. He made mistakes in the past and even Barr has openly admitted in many interviews where this brought up that he made mistakes and is working hard to fix those mistakes. everyone makes them, he's the only politician I have ever seen admit to the mistake and works to fixing them. Who else can you say has done that?
It's pretty simple, the rule is, don't trust politicians by what they say, only, by what they do, if he proceeds down his supposed road and fights very hard and backs up his words with action, then I will support him. Quit getting pumped by what people say and pretend to do (fluff), that is a politicians master tool in their box.
If he is that great and has really seen his mistakes, plus really fights at fixing them, then I will have plenty of time to support him.... with fervor.
People "trust" the U.S. Post Office?...Oh, Jesus on a skate board, gimme a fucking break...on the average, one out of every 9.1 letters mailed to an address in Hogwashington never gets to the addressee and has to be returned...if you are into shipping and mailing, remember this as an empirical rule:
If you want it to get there, send it UPS, FedEx or RPS...Don't give a damn if it gets there? Send it USPS 1st class.
Want to make DAMNED DEAD CERTAIN it never gets there? Send it CERTIFIED by USPS.
The Fall of Rome, that is exactly what happen once a country loses it's liberty, The collapse is imminent, our country is bankrupt from the barons, they have been doing this since the beginning of time. Our justice system, our bankers, insurance companies, our doctors, our lawyers and our accounting firms
and our tombstone government agencies have been diverting money and rigging the stock market, just like all the employees at Enron. They are incahoots with one another and we need more organizations like Ralph Nader to help stop the crooks from destroying us all!
Yes, and that is just the problem...Barr and too many others in the scatosphere of American politics are well expressed...they are most eloquent in speech...but talk is cheap. He praises and quotes Louis Dembitz Brandeis and that is the zinger...he might just as well have favorably quoted Felix Frankfurter who stuffed a hundred of his "hotdogs" into the FDR reptilian regime. Pay NO attention to what a U.S. politician says...only to what they DO...and then make sure it wasn't an illusion.
I had my doubts about Bob Barr when he first announced, but he has alleviated those concerns very thoroughly. I think he will honor the Libertarian view and apply it to his presidency if he wins. Since Ron Paul will sadly not be the Republican nominee and I can see not much difference between Obama and McCain.. I will be voting Barr / Root this year.
The postal service or the dept of justice? Which do I place my trust in? Hand me the pistol for a nice little game of Russian roulette... And for those of you who are government workers, I'd like the revolver, not the semiautomatic... (are you listening, Lee Paige? ...LOL)
He sounds like Thurgood Marshall and it's going to take more than a red bull to raise him from the dead...as far as impeaching Bush, Conyers appears to be a charter member of the I've-got-my-thumb-up-my-butt Club. Someone who is so anti-dynamic sitting on the House Judiciary Committee spells kiss-of-death to our Constitutional rights and bring on the Noahide "Laws".

Conyers sucks. Bob Barr voted FOR the Patriot Act. Check his voting record. Down with the two party system for sure, but this guy is NOT the answer.
