It annoys me now a days, everybody looks up to lady gaga or some stupid rapper singing about having sex. So many people have forgotten why they can live their lives as they can today. That is a good question and it deserves a good answer. First of all I lived in CA under Reagan's rule and I saw the raw destructive force that it was first hand. He destroyed the very best higher education system in the country. Second I am a Vietnam Veteran and I have seen first hand the evil that Reagan did to disabled vets. Many of whom died horribly because his stupidity and greed. Third, I also worked in Texas for a couple of banks that were destroyed by the Reagan deregulation of banks.

I worked on a project with James Banker, Reagan's Sec. of State. It was Baker who promised the Saudis ANYTHING to get them to pump all the oil they could. They did and put a MILLION oil workers on the street in OK, TX and LA and drove the region into a depression. There were five hundred thousand families that lost their homes because of Reagan. I don't worship Reagan. I admire the men who scaled those cliffs and wanted some history on my son's regiment. You're right, the Saudis are not our allies and we should stop pretending that they are. But think about WHY we must go elsewhere for oil. The tree-huggers here have all but SHUT DOWN American industry, not conservatives. We can't drill in our own backyard because we might displace the one-eared snaildarter or reroute the migration path of lady bugs.

But what about Reagan trading missiles to the Iranian ayatollahs or selling chemical and biological weapons to Saddam Hussein? It should be done now as well! The VA helps too many who don't deserve or need it. There are able bodied vets living on VA campuses all over this country, able bodied. They don't work, they get paid and they don't even volunteer. Most are drug and alcohol abusers. They volunteered to serve our country? Crap, sounds like they joined to serve themselves.

WWI raged for three years before the U.S. became involved, largely due to German attacks on our Neutral shipping.
WWII was started by Germany in September of 1939. Japan attacked American naval forces at Pearl Harbor.
The Korean was begun by North Korea.
The Vietnam war raged long before the U.S. was involved.

I served on the USS Turner Joy which was ALLEGEDLY fired upon by the North Vietnamese "Navy" which LBJ used as the excuse to officially start the war in Vietnam. Even the Navy now admits it NEVER HAPPENED. Like Iraq, Vietnam was started with a LIE to the American people for PROFIT of Wall Street. Nixon was elected with the promise to "END THE WAR" but instead he expanded, extended and prolonged it. It ONLY ended with the fall of Saigon in 1975 AFTER Nixon resigned in disgrace. It was the Maddox, DD731 that was fired on. I don't recall ever hearing that the Turner Joy was involved.
Altho .. when I served on the Watts and we had to tie up along side the Joy, I think our ship hit the TJoy instead. Very embarrassing to say the least.

WRONG! That is NOT what the Tonkin Gulf Resolution was about. The war in Vietnam or at least the official US involvement in it was started with the Tonkin Gulf Resolution which was a direct result of the Tonkin Gulf Incident used by LBJ to get Congress to pass it and inflame the American people.
