  • IDK about DJ Scratch, he is in love with that computer.....staring at it

  • Dizzam! You had a LEGEND across from you, and you flee'd him with the time management!

  • what's the song name @ 6:22?

  • Jazzy Jeff is a legend... Scratch sucks, too lazy to even manually turn the vinyl back by hand

  • Damn it was just cool to hear some breakbeats... ya'll whose critcizing probably dont know shit about hip hop...you MF's is taking this way too serious. I grew listening to AM Stereo 1580 KDAY....most of you probably could'nt even listen to hip hop or R&B growing up cause your parents wouldnt let you, thats why you cant appreciate just hearing some old school breakbeats.

  • DJSFS is the BEST

  • Jazzy gets nasty on SWAT!!!!! I love it.

  • wow..that crowd is wack

  • I was there that night and Scratch def had some technical difficulties. As for the energy. Thats just Toronto sometimes....tough crowd!!!

  • Keep Rising To The Top by Keni Burke.

  • Gooood!!!!

  • Don't hate on people for using the technology that's available. Jazzy Jeff can rock turntables just with vinyl, but laptops mean you don't have to carry a ton of records. It's all about the love for the music and wanting people to have a good time. That's what matters at the end of the day.

  • whats the song at the begginng!!!

  • cool

  • Theme from SWAT is one of my favorite breaks

  • @grish76 dude! finally! thank you for helping me with the name of that one.

  • I'm jamming in my basement and confused as to why the crowd is not going ape shit and losing their mind!? This crowd a bunch of posers or something? wicked performance. Respect to Scratch and Jeff.

  • I'm jamming in my basement and confused as to why the crowd is not going ape shit and losing their mind!? wicked performance. These crowds a bunch of posers or something?

  • I'm jamming in my basement and confused as to why the crowd is not going ape shit and losing their mind!? wicked performance.

  • Fuckin guy totally dependent on his laptop...wow

  • you can SEE and HEAR that DJ Starting is really just a beginner. WWHHYYY is he not spinning the record back to the beginning of the song? Instead he's just pressing on his laptop! Plus he's looking constant to his laptop to his wavelengte of the track. He's definitely NOT listening to his songs. That's what you get if you use Serato or Traktor Scratch. You are too reliable to your laptop

  • @aap321 not necessarily true with your last comment. i use serato and i still do more listening to the song than lookin at the laptop

  • I love this video....

  • This shit was hella boring. Slam mixing is not hard. might as well be a fucking Ipod. Now I know Jazz is dope and this was not his best performance. Be ppl really need to get off his dick. He's not the best, he never has been, and never will be. Just saying

  • @glict , when another DJ does a math problem in a song, then you can say he's not the best! I'm just saying! Peace to those that know and all those just finding out, LGKids here, it's good to finally meet you all............

  • @LGKids Dude I've seen ppl light the table on fire, break dance on it, use a rubber band to make bass sounds, knock a coin against the tonearm to make a sound. So doing a math problem with words from a record, is sick don't get me wrong, but by no means aww inspiring. So once again, I'm not hating on Jeff. Ppl just need to get off his dick

  • @glict , why don't you just say GrandMaster Dee! Who by the way don't get the props he should get! I'm not his anything, I just love hip hop, the MCee and the DJ and I am sure that most of us love to see the DJ go buckwild on the tables and make the crowd go wild! I think Jeff was holding back here and he surely held back on the Jam Master Jay tribute! Peace and real hip hop heads in effect(did I just say in effect)lol!

  • He did a ok job but no show men ship but on beat!!!! I DJ TOO.... AND I KNOW it's more THAN having some old records JEFF WOWS PEOPLE WITH HIS ALSOME SHOW MAN SHIP.... GO DJ'S.... THE WORLD FAMOUS DJ SHABLAST........

  • whats that break that Jeff drops at 5:00? Been looking for that one...

  • @feedyourspeakers brick house - commodores lol sorry saw it in the comments

  • @feedyourspeakers wait its not brick house....

  • now i've seen this for the second time...ok nobody beets jazz but scratz zzz..like that style...and jazz..unf..ckingbelie4beble...big up for life..george benson pffffffffffff

  • OK I have read enuff!! I have been spinnin since 1981 right here in philly.

I was @ the hotel philadelphia the first time jeff won a city wide battle in 83.

Im talkin wayyyy b4 will was even out of jr high lol. when his mcs were rockwell n mc spicy tee.

  • what's the song at 5:00 ? No, it isn't Jackson 5 "Dancing Machine" like rocktopolis stated previously

  • @westcoastthang The commodores Brick House

  • The kid did the right thing he kept it basic , no mistakes allowed but he's solid . he got a lot of crazy Breaks his crates is deep. at the 4:18 mark thats the sample used for bust the move Young Mc.

  • Whats the song 4:18

  • jazz is a legend, i`d like to see what sfs can do with just turntables and vinyl.

  • Song at 3:46 is also in BDP's "I'm Still No. 1"

  • Song at 5:00 is the break from the Jackson 5 "Dancin Machine". Song at 7:12 is "She's Got Betty Davis Eyes". I forget who sang it.

  • Comment removed

  • What's the song at 4:00? I know Boogie Down Productions used it in "I'm Still No. 1", but was it sampled from somewhere else?

  • what is da name of da song at 5:00

  • I HOPE THIS WAS NOT A BATTLE OF ANY KIND! STS IS A VERY GOOD DJ BUT THIS EVENT HE WAS DIFF TRYING TO HARD...JUST RELAX BRO! BUT I UNDERSTAND THE PRESSURE!

  • Just gay @ starting from scratch. lame fake ass dj that somehow got big from pre mixing tracks and finalizing them to one track!!!! Stop licking your fingers on fake vinyl let alone to do anything else. Jazzy Jeff is the shit...you want to learn something watch him!!!!

  • SFS is not a battle dj nor is he trying to out do Jazzy Jeff.4 turntables does not work with everyone no matter how good the djs may be. After the 6 minute mark you see the truth from both dj's... SFS at his best, using his ipod of a brain mashing tracks... and Jazzy Jeff is "partying" I hate to say it, but see how many times he reaches to itch his nose and look at him go to town on the gum he's chewing...

  • The other guy was trying to hard, it was like he was trying to out do Jazzy. Scratches flow is garbage.

  • whats the intro song?

  • whats the song at 7:12??

  • Its easy to be intimidated when your standing beside one the best all around pure Dj/turntablist to ever tough the decks! {sidebar} Is it me or does STS haver a louder set-up?

  • someone was hogging up the decks! Not letting someone else play long enough!! Disappointing!! sorry, no offence... just seems that way in the video

  • i notice how DJ scratch had everyone confused but dont get me wrong he was awesome at the beginning. but JAzzy jeff had everyone scream lol

  • TIGHT TA DEFF!

  • 2 OF THE WORLDS BEST!!! Check your hate at the door. Scratch wasnt nervous at all. I was standing right beside him (to the left beside the camera man....) and there were immense tracking issues with the left table due to a bad tonearm. While 4Korners were warming up the party, Kap'n Kirk was experiencing the same issues.

  • @DjFlatline1983 is the weight on the tone arm the wrong way round?

  • what is on 3:46?

  • I'm gonna tell the 100% truth cause I was there, the main problem with Scratch that night was while Jeff would bring the energy level up a notch, Scratch kept taking it back down. maybe he didn't want to stray from a planned set, or just poor song selection.

  • @moss3000 To be honest man, the enterity of the energy was a little low.

  • some strange comments here. I guess 99% of DJs would be intimidated by Jeff's presence. Plus, they played in a 4-TT set-up which is technically challenging. Plus, they kept holding a camera up both their noses.

Is it any wonder anyone(!) would seem nervous? Hardly! Perhaps Scratch is better than that, but where exactly did he "blow it"? Such comments are from ppl who don't know what a DJ does.

  • I was there that night, and not hating on Scratch cause he is a world class dj, I've seen him tear down clubs a million times, but he seemed very nervous and it must have affected his performance. I'm not buying the sound issues, at least 4 other djs played on the same set as Scratch including "4 Korners" who killed it.

  • To anyone who was there that night you can comment. Otherwise leave the negative Scratch comments alone. This is not the first time they played together and I will tell you there were some odd sound issues happening and a programming scenario that wasnt clear, Nuff Said, Ive seen Scratch destroy over 5000 parties in my life and trust me, my money is on him if you hatin. Jazzy Jeff and Scratch Palaise Royal July 2001 Ridiculous and no one can play a party better than Scratch in the world,

  • r u for real... wow that live

  • too many scratch haters...give respect where respect is due...imo...no hating

  • He look scared as shit!!!Then its almost like he trying too prove a point or sho jazzy jeff up.U cant tell Jeff like Player it that serious!!!

  • Wow...You guys have no clue what you're talkin' about? Plus being a DJ myself..It takes gr8 skill and an ear for music to become a DJ and Those dudes got that no doubt...and Scratch you did a nice job next to a Legendary DJ such as Jazzy Jeff...I want to see any of you go up there and pull it off...it's easier said than done!!!!!!!

    1ne

  • @Falesteenee I Salute all you DJ's and i agree with everything u said man

  • based on the talent between both I was expecting much more, maybe they didnt have a chance to work this out b4 hand

  • From looking @ this video about 3 times i c a couple of things. first thing is that scratch is way to nervous during the performance, second thing is that scratch looked like he didn't kno what to play next, he has a kinda question mark face on. 3rd thing scratch has to stop looking @ the laptop so much. But other then that he does have skills on the wheels of steel. After all is said nd done i would say scrach ur doin a job man 4 real. Just work on ur craft so more nd u will be tight yo fo real

  • @DJSilence4life I'd be nervous if I had jazzy jeff on the other side of me too

  • 3:46 Scratch blows it !!

Jazzy jeff was just laughing ..

thats what you get when you start of rude and dont deliver !! sorry Scratch

i hope you come back stronger the next time meanwhile take a few notes from Jazzy Jeff how you supossed to do it !!

  • Comment removed

  • In my opinion, Scratch is a WHOLE lot better than this! I was there that night. I was standing right beside Jazzy Jeff and I could see clearly that there were some technical difficulties that were affecting Scratches performance!

  • MOAR PLZ!
