@jiujitsufighter123 Friend of mine has a 2011 GT, and used to have an 03 Cobra, can't remember what he did to that cobra but stock vs stock the cobra was faster, now he's got 4.10's BBK headers and Off road xpipe, Cold Air Intake and an SCT tuner and he says it would have demolished his cobra. Personally tho if you can find one I'd go for the cobra, Nothing beats that supercharger's whine...... sorry just drooled everywhere..

@jiujitsufighter123 Stock vs. stock a supercharged cobra might be a bit faster but you want the aerodynamics and naturally aspirated brute force of the DOHC 5.0 to build on. The new 5.0 revs more freely (and higher) than the 4.6, bolt-ons and power adders etc. make a bigger difference on the 5.0 than on the 4.6, and it also gets better fuel economy. The 5.0 also has a forged crank and forged steel connecting rods, that's most of the "high boost" build already done.

It's essentially a large compressor that sits on the engine block which is driven by the action of the motor spinning via a pulley in most cases. It forces more air in to your pistons than what is normally drawn, which in turn causes more fuel to be burned which increases power. Turbos do something similar but are powered by exhaust flow rather than directly pushing air in.
