One of the original lead singers from the band has released a new choon with that 'Old Skool' vibe, & It's bloody wicked! Search 'Georgie B' on youtube & check it out! (It's called 'LET'S BREAK THE ICE') :o)
Great, you star! I've been trying to track this one down for ages; I didn't even know what it was or who it was by and humming it to people just drew blank stares and funny looks. Thanks for transporting me back to my late teens.
i was the agent for Second Image in 1983/4. I was a rocker at heart but loved the banc - always thoughts they'd crack but sadly never as big as they should have been.
@tinkywinkywoo : i dont know why they never crossed over - if you were in your late teens, working class and from London or the south east in 1983 there was a very good chance you or your friends listened to Second Image on the stereo in your car - underground but in a pretty big way but probably sold too many records i specialist shops or didnt replicate following outside a radius of about 40 miles from central london?
@ancientraver19881989 i think ity was little earlier than 1983 - 1980 -82 they did couple of live show ... i remember them doing a show in stevenage back in 1981 and band getting interest from one or two ladies
@SOULCRACKERS1979 yes but wasn't that wen they were still buildin their followin-I just remember that by 1982/83 they'd got so big that every1 seemd 2b in2 them-ive got loads of memories of the hot summer of 1983 with them bein played when we were on the way 2clubs/on jukeboxes etc by every1 from serious jazz-funk geezers 2the kind of girls who were just as likely 2b in2 things like Shakatak or that Sharon Redd/Sharon Brown sound.Think they were as big as Level42 were just b4 L42 went pop.
Yes my friend, I remember the Powerhouse well, have many fond memories till the changed it to the Ritzy...And got rid of the the top floor/balcony! was never quite the same again...mind you, Student night on a Monday(Ritzy) was ok...great place to pick up...!
Love this song, takes me back to the 80's. Back when I used to party at the paradise garage. We were young, crazy and free!
