It's just an historical thing whereby the classics will always be more popular & although newer ones are generally better, that doesn't seem to come into the equation!
If the nickname "T-Rex" never actually existed, and it was simply just known as "Tyranosaurus", then I'm pretty sure that the biggest and ferocious dinosaur of all 'would' be the most popular!
An easy way around it would be to call the other ones something like "G-Rex", "C-Rex" and "S-Rex", all for short, although none of the above seems to have the same tone about them!
Another theory for T-Rex being so popular, is because it was the first one...
Its quite fun that they have found so many preserved t-rexes. It suggests that T-rex was never challenged and died by natural causes or was never killed by any bigger predator. Spino on the other hand they havnt found a single spinosaur that the whole or most parts of the skeletons are included. Are they simply lost? OR does it have some other solution, like that the spino did infact get killed by bigger or greater numbers.
The T-Rex is basically just jaws and leggs. It didn't really need the arms. however some scientists mean that it probably would have evolved into something simmaler to a large raptor as the herbivores also grew larger.
Most people should check their sources seriously before talk. We have direct evidences of T. Rex being an active predator: bite-marks which fit with T.rex teeth in edmontosaurus and triceratops which healed, which means that they escaped from T.rex attacks. He was the apex predator there.
T. rex was also, a coelurosaur, and kept the leg configuration of his ancestors, who were meant to run. You just need a fast look to its skeleton to convince yourself, unless you´re a blinded fanatic.
T.rex is hated because some people -mosly foreigners- see it as a symbol of yankee imperialism. Pretty stupid if you ask me, hate an animal who died so many million years ago.
Btw, arms were useless in all the big theropods. In tyranosarids, carcharodontosauridae, abelisaurids, spinos and allosaurids. They can´t move it in an angle to hurt something, or even touch the ground with palms, because they were positioned like bird wings. Arms in big theropods were just vestigial features.

Its quite fun that they have found so many preserved t-rexes. It suggests that T-rex was never challenged and died by natural causes or was never killed by any bigger predator. Spino on the other hand they havnt found a single spinosaur that the whole or most parts of the skeletons are included. Are they simply lost? OR does it have some other solution, like that the spino did infact get killed by bigger or greater numbers.

The T-Rex is basically just jaws and leggs. It didn't really need the arms. however some scientists mean that it probably would have evolved into something simmaler to a large raptor as the herbivores also grew larger.

Most people should check their sources seriously before talk. We have direct evidences of T. Rex being an active predator: bite-marks which fit with T.rex teeth in edmontosaurus and triceratops which healed, which means that they escaped from T.rex attacks. He was the apex predator there.
T. rex was also, a coelurosaur, and kept the leg configuration of his ancestors, who were meant to run. You just need a fast look to its skeleton to convince yourself, unless you´re a blinded fanatic.

T.rex is hated because some people -mosly foreigners- see it as a symbol of yankee imperialism. Pretty stupid if you ask me, hate an animal who died so many million years ago.
Btw, arms were useless in all the big theropods. In tyranosarids, carcharodontosauridae, abelisaurids, spinos and allosaurids. They can´t move it in an angle to hurt something, or even touch the ground with palms, because they were positioned like bird wings. Arms in big theropods were just vestigial features.

Do you have eyes? a tyrannosaurus' head is triangular from above, because its eyes are pointed forward to give it binocular vision, so it could find prey just fine...arms were shortened because the powerful jaws of a tyrannosaurus were more than enough to dispatch prey, the brain did have large olfactory bulbs(smell) but the brain is also larger than that of carcharodontosaurus and giganotosaurus, so why would it have a larger brain of all it did was scavenge. if arms were so important, why did they get smaller as meat eating theropods evolved? Please explain your logic. Also, you probably don't even know which bone in the leg is the femur or tibia, because if you did you would realize that tyrannosurids have legs developed for speed, so stop using that argument(You are wrong anyway). Arms for predator dinosaurs weren't as important. the reason dinosaurs didn't need them to get up is because they hardly ever fell, their tails helped them balance so they wouldn't fall.
