Publix bought half the Albertsons in Florida. Albertsons didn't take care of a lot of them. A/C units either needed freon or were shot, the roofs were in bad shape, and the plumbing was shot. Publix completely gutted the interiors out and started over on most of them. Some were in decent shape though, so Publix just kept the Albertsons interior and changed the paint color on those.

After arguing I told him to go home, he refused. Store director gets there at 7 am, writes him up for insubordination, and sends him home.

Because I don't see how the GM manager can be in charge of the store since they can't operate a register. There should be someone in grocery to assume the store operations.
if he was the only manager there, then yes he is in charge. i should know since i'm a supervisor at a Albertsons.but if you felt like you were treated unfairly you should have had a meeting with your SD or just called the hot line and reported the problem and let HR deal with it.
I work at this store and know Rito personally. He acted with professionalism in this entire episode. It does not matter if he is drug manager or not, if he is the only manager there, then yes he manages the entire store. I have learned the creator of this video baited Rito unfairly, but Rito acted with perfect class. Kudos to Rito and all of the Albertson's family.

no he isnt the assistant store director, when our main store director is not there the grocery managar becomes the acting store director not the drug manager at least not at this store
