I'm a prop and if you lift by shorts there is little room for the jumper to lean so if he does, there is a higher chance of him falling, and shorts means pre binding, which makes your lime predictable. Lift from the knees and waist, more secure and a better lift
If you look at the first part of the video it looks like the lifted player is over top the back lifter. Its more on the back lifter but its somewhat harder for the front lifter to help once the player is all the way up.
anyone know which is harder lifting from front or back cause im like its harder to lift from the front cause i have to get lower and i can never extend my arms fully
@WiremuH I know it's an old comment but why isn't that secure? As a lock and jumper I'm interested in practicing the safest way of jumping and being lifted.
@creativsis You should try not to lift by the shorts. It can lead to some nice hand injuries. I play on a women's team, both city and national. We support by holding onto the legs and butt. But I guess it's all in how your coached. I haven't seen short lifts since high school

@Tlawesome I don't actually know why that comment was on there, it's a very good way of lifting.

@Jrabbit1287 oh okay. We've tried lifting by the legs but I haven't got the hang of it yet so we just stick to the shorts.
I understand that by lifting by the legs, it gives more height or something like that.

@creativsis i always grab on the butt curve, lifting by the shorts will get your fingers sore

@TheBlitz666 mhmm. I wouldn't know since I am the one to get lifted, but recently we have been practicing to lift with the legs.
