I thought it was okay. Not anything to brag home about, and certainly no FPS Creator. But it's good for the eight or nine year olds out there in the world. I liked how they made unique bosses and then made retextures to save themselves from actually making things diverse and unique. It's okay though. I give it a thumbs "meh".

The 3D Gamemaker was released in 2001/2002 as a game making tool for kids. See how old the graphics were then? This is awesome for 2001, but not for 2010. Kids do like this program though.

It's not worth it. It's incredibly user-friendly, but everything you make still looks incredibly shitty. Go take up modding. Might as well go pick up the Source engine or UDK. Hey, they both have a learning curve, and it's not simple drag and drop, but hey, if want results that don't look like shit, I suggest picking up one of those two. Isn't it better when you actually DESIGN something that looks great instead of dragging and dropping stuff made by someone else?

Wow, I can't believe they're actually making people pay for this piece of software! There should actually be a name for this sort of software, like shitware. The games look like something from nearly fifteen years ago on the first playstation. If you want to create some really nice 3D looking games, and don't want to learn a programming language but and are willing to go the extra mile with the modelling and animation, try Blender.

This program is a pretty big waste of money in my opinion. It pretty much has no versatility or multiple uses. Each game you make is basically the exact same thing with interchanged 3D models. That's about it. Basically, everything you'll make is either a racing game with faulty controls or some sort of shooter game. You can't implement any sort of story feature and on top of that, you can't save progress. So you pretty much start all over again when you play your game.

It gives you the option to use scripting...so its not really for kids...you could also change the textures , enemies, make your own maps, and post faces on the monsters...

After which you can go into learning advanced programming tactics, direct3d, opengl, and other gfx, modeling tools, sound synthesizing, encryption, compression, networking hierarchy and sql....and you can make a game all on your own from scratch. Or do what the world does and get involved in a team, plenty of opensource projects out there.

Believe me, this video is misleading...

The setup is incredibly simple, making for an extremely repetitive style of gameplay. You can customize almost anything, but it's at such a basic level, you end up just playing the same game over and over. Not to mention the enemy AI is just absurd, and the "boss fights" are beyond simple.

When 3d Game Maker first came out some years ago, I bought it and was disappointed and mad. Mad and disappointed that you had you to buy a hefty priced add-on licensce inorder to create and market commercial

games. A lot of us purchasers and users were up in arms because there was no mention of this at the initial beginning, advertising of information of this application. It was very misleading and shady on the gamecreators part. They have learned their lesson now with the FPS Creator.
