before : revenue 1000 tax 50 => pay 500

after : revenue 4000 tax 25 => pay 1000

If you want to tax the rich you got to promote studies for higher payment jobs (doctors, lawyers, scientists etc) with that extra tax. he intentionally fails to not mention the fact that this small portion of American's owns a very large portion of the wealth in America...

look up Warren Buffet... 3rd richest American... pays 17% of his income on taxes... out of 50 million dollars a year.

About 80% of US jobs are provided by businesses which would receive a tax cut under Obama's plan.

What's more, Democrats have a pretty stellar record when it comes to job growth.

I'll grant you one on the expansion of government under Bush 43. Not a fan.

However, it wasn't until within the last year or so that unemployment actually rose; with regards to job growth, it's hard for that to happen when most of the people already HAVE jobs (though, the type of jobs will change; hence, the fall in manufacturing jobs). Even so, it wasn't until 3Q 2008 that GDP decreased since Bush came into office.

Obama proposes to raise the top payroll tax rate by between 16%-32%. How is that a cut?

The entire federal income tax rates were reduced across the board for ALL incomes. When the 2003 tax cuts expire we all go back to the higher income tax rates of the year 2000. EVERYONE'S take home pay will decrease: low and middle income included. A household bringing in about $50K per year will lose $2500 - $3000 per year.

2) The earned income tax credit (EITC) was increased in both credit amounts and the yearly income up to $39K/yr. When Obama and the Dems expire the 2003 tax cuts, the EITC credit amount will shrink and only for those making in the high $20K/yr. This affects low income households severely.

3) The child credit of $1000/child will go back to $500/child when Obama and the Dems allow the 2003 tax cuts to expire. This affects all incomes: low, middle, high.

4) The marriage penalty was eliminated with the 2003 tax cuts. When Obama and the Dems go back to the year 2000 tax codes, married couples will be paying higher taxes for being married. This affects all incomes: low, middle, high.

Obama has promised slashing the deficit and lowering taxes...while promising a trillion dollars in NEW spending.

If he goes for government programs, out goes tax cuts...or if he keeps the cuts, up goes the deficit. Given that he's voted for raising taxes 94 times...

Hey goof ball, we never wanted McCain. The conservatives wanted Romney. Democrats voted on our ticket cause they were scared of Romney. If you don't believe my primary polls show a UNPRECEDENTED low turn out for democrats voting despite population going up, while the republicans had a UNPRECEDENTED turn out.

The rich are paying more taxes because they are making more money. Which last time I checked is a win/win for everyone. The rich get richer and hence pay more taxes which helps fund the government.

There's a limit to the size of tax rates.

For example, our capital gains taxes and corporate tax rates are among the HIGHEST in the industrialized world. Why do you think businesses are going overseas? Because we make it TOO EXPENSIVE TO WORK HERE, when they can get a greater profit overseas.
