I love Dick Cavett so much. I'm 26 and the interviewer's nowdays are usually so unempathetic and boring. Dick was very genuine in his questions and reactions. All of the interview's with Jimi, Janis, and Sly and many more are all proof at how cool Mr. Cavett was. Love that guy and his guests!
it was during this interview that during a commercial Dick asked her if she was using heroine and she replied..."Who would care if i did!!!"...Pretty sad...Love ya Pearl!!!
You know ...all of you who disses people after they have passed is pretty low...Janis was an awesome singer and entertainer. She is beautiful and sweet...i love everything about her...so all of you if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say it at all...Rip Janis...i love you!!!
I have always liked Janis. what;s wrong with being honest, and saying how you really feel? She was very talented, and wanted to entertain her audiance. .RIP Janis

Dick Cavett was highly respected by a lot of artists in show business. He did some of the finest interviews with John Lennon. He was just a gentleman who respected and loved his guests. So they simply felt comfortable and opened up to him. Respect to Dick Cavett. And of course Janis, she was awesome, who cares if she was high, it's sad indeed but who wasn't back then. she doesnt strike me as drunk AT ALL
There's a 20/20documentary that claims Joplin appeared on this show and was drunk which is why I wanted to see this clip but its clearly not true!
the legend has been twisted to suit a certain story and make it more dramatic
She's RAZOR sharp in her reactions very witty but thats a bit of a boring thing to put in a documentary - so let's just make stuff up
I dont care if she is drunk or sober but, Jeez, TELL THE TRUTH!
