great camera. I have mine since 2008 and it's great... the only thing that sucks is the night shooting... the flash is kind of bad :/
And i had a problem... i thought maybe some humidity reach it and now when i make a video i have an awful noise. I send it to the guys from warranty servide and two months later the send me it back.... but the noise is still there.
@spiucita I have the R6 and have the same problem, quite loud background noise in the videos, I have no idea what is the problem, mine did not get any humidity,
I am thinking to get it serviced, but it is no longer under warranty, did the noise get any better after the repair?
@lavivona ... sometimes i can hear something behind all the noise (before that just noise) but there was no much improvement after they returned it to me and took a long time (like a month and a half, in madrid.. they have to send it to france to get repair)
@lavivona for a while i could listen what i record plus the noise, But at the end (sadly it falls awfully like 3 times and died, RIP best camera i could ever had) it was just noise! But anyway, the pictures where great, i've been searching a camera with that kind of optical zoom and macro (1 cm) under the category of compact cameras, and i just got the new line of ricoh, but there is no distribuitors in my country.

The good - Great picture quality
Negative - Flash at night is a hit & miss
My overall score 9/10 but would have been 10 but the flash at night has a mind of its own.

ich habe das Problem mit meiner Caplio-R7 das die Videos von Youtube zerhackt werden.
Warum auch immer ?
Bei meiner R7 ist im gegenzug zur R5 wenigstens jetzt der Ton zu hören wenn auch die Qalität sehr lame von Ricoh ist; ohne Bass.
Hat jemand eine Löhsung ?
