He is quite simply, a stunning entertainer/singer. I would predict that 10 yrs from now he will be up there w/the likes of Frank Sinatra, Elvis, and a very select group of others. A true musical shaman who can heal with his awesome talent. I can understand fans wanting him to be a Jersey Boy 4-ever, but he has lots more to give. He will be at Michael Feinstein's in NYC Monday. I encourage all his fans to go!
There really are no words to speak when you see Jarrod Spector perform live. I saw him on June 27 had front row center seats and through out the whole performance I could literally reach out and touch him, of course i wouldnt do it, but I was very very tempted. Infact when the show was over I got this crazy idea to just jump on the stage and follow him back there, of course i didnt because I would have probably been arrested and looked like an idiot in front of him but again it was tempting. <3
I agree with you. Dominic is the greatest! I met him after the show in Chicago and he could not have been more gracious not to mention that he was amazing in the show.
Dominic IS fantastic!!!!!!! i have seen both jarrod and dominic perfrom and i honestly find Dominic better.yes jarrod is phenomonenal.but dominic is beyond.he sounds more like Frankie Valli, and his acting has more expression.and he is actually italian and from NJ!!!! so it adds something special. :)
@JerseyBoysforever Excuse me for asking, but I'm losing track of The Frankies; who is Dominic ? You say he's actually Italian & from NJ ?" Truthfully--& I can say this, being 64 y/o, a Lifetime Fan of The 4 Seasons & Italian --Sicilian--but to me, it's makes no difference at all, whether or not anyone playiing ANY of The Group, is actually Italian-- or not. The quality of the music, the acting, & those signature vocals are all that matter to me. That said, who is he? Wolfsky9
@Wolfsky9 The "Dominic" in question is Dominic Scaglione, who has performed in 3 of the US companies and is returning to Broadway as the alternate Frankie shortly.
The alternate performs twice a week on a regular schedule. Understudies do not have a regular schedule. All productions of Jersey Boys have or have had a Frankie alternate (Las Vegas did until recently; there the two Frankies alternate 4 and 4 instead of 6 and 2.)
Have you heard anything about jarrod leaving the show? I know he was contracted through Sept, but didn't know if he had renewed.
Don't know if you have seen JLB - but I have to say singing wise he is a close second to Jarrod. Saw him last night opening in DC and was very impressed with the singing and dancing. The acting seemed to lack energy - but maybe he was tired.
Yep, I have seen JLB, but that was back when he was an alternate and he had only been in the show about 3 weeks, so I'm sure whatever I saw then (it was good -- not great) isn't quite the same now.
when i saw it in july, jarrod was frankie but he isnt anymore. i just saw it this past weekend and ryan quinn west played bob instead of shonn wiley but i'm not sure how long that's for. but as of right now in chicago,
and in my opinion dominic scaglione jr isnt the best. he's a fine singer but you dont get the sense that frankie's young and gullible like you do with jarrod.
John Llyod Young and Jarrod Spector are my FAVORITE Frankie Valli's.........well i haven't seent Jersey Boys at all im going to see in on da 25 in NYC..........its gonna be an AMAZING night:)
jarrod spector is great as Franki Valli, I just saw Jersey Boys in NYC last friday, awesome performance. Love how all the actors are also world class singers as well. Also Dominic nolfi (nick devito) is great! 5 stars from me.
this guy is brilliant in NY. an elegant poised understated performance from start to finish, and the singing is superb. and the other guys, including matt bogart, are also incredible. but this actor is just marvelous. you feel like you are watching the real FV, unlike the other actors who played this role. people need to accept that "original" cast does not always mean the best. this has been proven many times. the original people always get the attention and the awards, but that means little.
thanks for the report. I have been wondering how he has been received on Broadway. I never saw JLY, certainly love the CD, but I agree that Jarrod, and the original Chicago cast, were really special. I've seen the show 4 times, twice with Jarrod, and he makes the experience.
Jarrod is perfect in this role. Sad to hear the play is closing in Chicago in 1/09. Does anyone know if the Chicago case will go elsewhere? I would hate to think I won't have another opportunity to see Jarrod play Frankie.
I've seen 4 Frankie's now and Jarrod is the best I've seen (overall, I thought the Chicago cast was underwhelming, but Jarrod was fantastic). Joseph Leo Bwarie was a close second.
which also makes you wonder how they found a guy this perfect to play frankie valli, who is his height, has his voice, and looks like a "jersey boy". AMAZING!!!
i just saw the play tonight, and all i can say is OH MY GOD. people tell you how amazing it is, but you can't fully imagine it until you see it up close and personal
OMGSH I saw him in chicago too. absolute best Frankie. he should be the only one. hes that good. if u see anyone else play frankie its a rip off. he is the real deal!
When Jarrod sang this tonight in Chicago and fnised the song the crowd cheered for 2 minuted straight. He had to just stand there and thank us until we stopped!!
Honestly, if I could choose between Jarrod and John [OBC Frankie] I would have to choose Jarrod. He's the one who makes me think of Frankie more than John did. And, when I watched the Emmy's...I was simply blown away because I actually thought that he was BETTER than John. But, then I thought about it. They are most def. my fave Frankie's. Now, Micheal is doing good right now too, but it's def. Jarrod that's the one for me!
I've seen Jarrod play Frankie Valli more than is necessary to know that he is both an extremely talented singer and actor. The opening night performance in Chicago was nothing short of brilliant. Frankie Valli himself made the comment that Jarrod was the most vocally similar to himself.
And to whoever said Deven May was the best Tommy Devito, have you seen Jeremy Kushnier?
see i think out of all of them JLY had the best falsetto, and maybe the best acting, but Spector had the smoothest voice probably. Longoria is acutally surprisingly very good as Frankie. He sounds more like the real frankie than JLY, but i thought JLY was a bit more unique. Nevertheless, nice vid
Thanks, after posting you, I recalled that Phil's sons do look a bit different. It would have been more interesting had he been Phil & Ronnie's son! He is star material worth of wall of sound, tho!:)
i saw jersey boys yesterday in san fransisco, but it was the holiday cast. in my opinion, i thought they were really amazing! jared is also really good! it was an awesome show!
We've seen Jersey Boys 3 times in SF. The first time we got Jarrod S. and it was the best of the 3 by far. The 3rd time we got the "holiday cast" and it was nothing as good. The singing quality just wasn't there.
There were some pluses with the holiday show also. The crowd mood, the stars having a bit more fun. And I did like the holiday Bob Gaudio maybe a tad more than Bergen. But there will never be a better Tommy DeVito then Deven May in my opinion.
This crew line up is awesome. I'm so honered that I had the chance to see Jarrod play as Frankie. He was much better than this performance video. It's hard to have everything ballenced well with a cheesey video. If you hav not yet seen them, Go now I tell you! Go see the Jersey Boys
omg... i love him!!! and the rest of the cast! but this is one of the best songs in Jersey Boys... i sat in the orchestra my second time seeing them in San Francisco and it was one of the best times I've ever had! plus watching him on stage performing this song... he's so cute!!!
Jarrod Spector was absolutely fabulous as Frankie Valli in "The Jersey Boys" I saw this show in Chicago and thought it was the best damn show ever. Jarrod & the rest of guys who
play the four seasons were incredible. Go see this show if you live in Wisconsin (as I do) or if your from Indiana or Illinois.
I met Jarrod and the rest of the Chicago cast a little over a week ago at Borders in Chicago. I was just there to kill sometime before some friends' train came in and they made an announcement that the Chicago cast of Jersey Boys was on the third floor. I went up there and there was no line, they were all really sweet and gave me a few tips about how to get tickets well before April. And just so you know, Jarrod is just adorable in person.
wow it's so awesome. i saw SF casts' jersey boys on august 11th. sadly, my actual seat was on 4th row, but my ticket and someone else's had changed so, i had to seat on the 15th row!!! sh** :( after finding out that fact, i was sooo sad but still, i can't forget their perfect musics. I WISH i could have sitted on the right seat.:'( I could see them from really close seat!!! aww i'm still sad.. :( anyway, thanks for the post :)
Jarrod is amazing as Frankie. Does any one know who plays the role of Frankie at the Saturday matinee? In the playbill, it says that John Michael Dias plays Frank on Wed. and Sun. matinees. THANKS.
From the orchestra, go out the doors that are to stage left. If it's after a matinee, some actors stay inside and eat or sleep, but most actors come out that way. From experience, there is another door on the other side that some actors use, but most in JB go out the main way.
so if im sitting audience right i guess i can just exit straight into the alley. and if im going on a nite show, do u think its worth it to go? i just dont wanna be there waiting too long or have none of the actors show up?
Finally a video of Jarrod as Frankie to show the world! Everyone should understand how talented he is. I've seen him in JB twice and think he's AMAZING!!!
hes such a cutie!!! omg can he get any cuter?!

Michael Ingersoll is currently on a month's leave. Dominic Bogart is playing Nick until Michael returns.

Yep, the giant green doors open into the alley.
Oh, some of them always come out, no matter if it's a matinee or an evening. It just may not be everybody.
Honestly, though, if you're planning your entire day around going to the stage door, you might want to re-prioritize. ;-)

its not a priority, ive seen the show before and was just wondering where the stage door was and how it works. thanks for your help.
