I'm very confused...The song starts out as You and I but then turns into the reprise? You and I is my favorite song in Chess especially Svetlana's part, Why would they cut that out!?! But Idina is as beautiful as ever!

@SweetLittleSong I think it is great, but I am sort of biassed since I am a huge Josh Groban fan :) But I've been to both evenings and I have to say the dvd is great, I have watched it more than a 100 times and still like it a lot!

As far as I know, the DVD/CD comes out on june 16th this year and the program itself should be playing on pbs stations nationally as a "Great Performances" special on the 17th

The dvd will release in December-the perfect christmas-gift!Josh was amazing!Idina too! I can´t understand that a lot of guys don´t like Idinas voice-she has the possibility to sing very high without head-voice but chest-voice. Incredible!

Okay, how can you say that Josh cannot sing? Have you heard him sing? Like on a video with good quality? And he is so not a fake. He has five albums. Trsh3r you do not know of what you speak, obviously you were not there. Menzel was totally miscast - missed cues, screeched with a babyish whine, and did not have the range necessary for Florence. Kerry Ellis should have been Florence.

Groban was dead-on and received the only individual standing ovation, a rarity at RAH.

Try reading the many reviews of this Chess production.

Kerry Ellis has a more limited range than Idina. (Showcased when I think it was in Endgame...She shouted her high belt) She was terrific as Svetlana but doesn't have the maturity yet. Give her a few years :)

Actually, looking back on the vids on youtube has made me realise just how good Idina was...

I agree Menzel is the "real thing," she was the reason I went to Chess in the first place and she is fantastic!

But Josh really impressed me too. His spoken lines are not brilliant, he's not the best actor, but his vocal ability is practically flawless apart from some breathing issues. He was immense! And together their voices RULED! LOVE Idina though!!!
