  • i wanna see it to! but for me is it far away!

    greetz from the netherlands.

we like the movie the exorcist.

  • Only the exterior shots were filmed here. If you check out the house you can see that it doesn't look the same. That is because a facade was built so that Regan's bedroom window was directly over the stairs. The real house is set back from the stairway.

The interiors were shot on a sound stage in New York City. Not in George Town, or the George town house.

  • Nice work pal. Long time since I've been around there nice to see it agian.

  • I feel bad for the poor people living there, living in a tourist trap, my that must suck.

  • Thanks - I used your video to find this spot yesterday. I notice your video postings are like mine. I travel a lot . Check out my KISS Loft video. From my NYC trip in May

  • I was there also!!! it´s amazing!!! haha :D

  • Good video. I want to sit on that arch that goes across them.. that looks high.

  • I wanna visit there!!

  • Can you go inside it?????????

  • You should visit the actual house in Bel-Nor, St. Louis Missouri that the real exorcism was based off of.

  • Yeah, I think so too. What is interesting about it though is that out of all the cheesy horror movies made back in the day, this movie can still hold its own with the horror movies of today. Not too many movies have the honor of being able to do that! :)

  • 37 years later and it is STILL the creepiest friggin movie ever made....

  • @MotorCityKitty79 I also think it's one of the scariest movies ever made, but I'll tell you, people who watch it for the first time in their lives aren't affected by it the way people were back then. I've now watched it with a couple people who were seeing it for the first time, and it hardly even phased them. But I know it scared the crap out of people when if first came out. Maybe our society is more accustomed to violence and horror now.

  • My dream place to visit!

  • Great Video, Thanks for sharing

  • pourquoi la maison n'est elle pas pareill que dans le film, on dirait qu'il manque un mur, celui ou il y a le rayon de lumiere qui sort de la fenetre sur l'affiche

quelqu'un peut il me répondre ?

  • Those people look like they have on exercise gear. Aren't they supposed to be going UP the steps?

  • Holy crap !!!! I walked down that staircase and by that house last time I was in Washington. I didn't even realise it. So now I have been to 112 ocean Ave in Amityville and in prospect street and the stairs for the exorcist.

  • awesome video! lol i have no idea how people are able to live there, i would be way too creeped out living there

  • The intersection is 36th and PROSPECT STREETS NOT AVENUE!!!! From someone who has lived there 29 years!

  • @theenforcr55576 you live in that house? or nearly? do you feel something weird while you walk close to the house? are true the stories people tell about that house?

  • @kornverfield20 I have been in Washington DC since March 1981 when I was born there. I went to elementary school on Prospect Street NW between 33rd and 34th Streets NW. I didn't live in that house but I went to elementary school near it from 1986-1993 and because it was used in that movie it will always have an omen behind it. One of the writers of the exorcist actually lived on Prospect Street. I apologize for the long delay in responding, I don't sign in often because I am busy with school.

  • Very nice. I never knew they added exteriors to the house. It's funny the people jogging up and down the stairs. They probably have no clue they were used in the movie. It was an amazing movie.

  • cool

  • correction... only the exteriors were shot at the house. none of the interiors. the inside of the house was a set built on a soundstage in NYC. it burned down during the filming of the movie and had to be rebuilt.

  • waw

  • cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nice!!!!!
