I get the feeling that they put cup of tea in there on purpose. It's not poor - it shows the singer living their normal life, drinking her tea and whatnot, and then introduces the soul of the song afterwards. When that part of the song repeats is says "bend reality". That's maybe relating to it too. Or maybe I'm P.E.Eing unnecessarily. I'unno ;)
