Oh yeah...I follow longhairdontcare2011 religiously, which lead me to heat training. Heat training based on her method and brittanynic16 has been working for me and got me over a "growth" hump. I love this video...you are kind of awesome...I'm subbing!....lol!
I agree with everything you just said!!! I got heat damage back in 2010 and my hair is still doing fine. Has not fallen out & is not broken off. I have had a few trims since then but I get my hair straightened often so I still have some straight pieces. My hair feels great & is healthy. I do what I want with it and it works for me! AMEN Bowsweetie...preach miss lady!
@babyshuf2 Lol thanks girl! It's a common false belief that heat "damaged" hair is fragile, weak and breaks off -- so I'm glad you are also proof that this is not the case. Your hair is fab =]
I dont think there's anything wrong with wanting to keep ur heat damaged hair, ME on the other hand, rather not! its like having relaxed ends hanging around.....not good :)
Girrrllll, I laughed a couple of times throughout the video. TOTALLY feel you on pretty much every point. Have a similar video called "No BC for ME". I'm told at least once a day to cut my hair. I ended up triming, but definitely do what I want with my hair. Why not? It's mine.
"look at that dead person, thats corpse, but thats a healthy corpse" "im going to need you to take an extra seat because you dont know what you're talking about!!" lmaoooo I love you dawana!
Mk, I've decided NOT to take your advice regarding heat damage (HD). Here's the deal: you don't want to cut off your HD and that's you, but the reason other women tell you to cut it is because the unwanted outcomes of HD happen more often than not. The fact is you are telling women with natural hair NOT to cut off damaged(yes, damaged) hair which could (and usually does) result in dry, brittle hair that is more apt to breakage and split ends which travel up the shaft. Its misinformation period.
@gr8naynay1 Why so wired up? lol. It's not that serious, dear. I'm not "advising" anyone to do anything..unlike yourself, I'm not concerned with other people's hair, I worry about my own. This is just my opinion on the topic based on my experience. Thanks for watching =)
you just saved me a lot of stress! i was so scared to straighten my natural hair but the other naturals scared the crap out me not to do it but I wanted to!. I will straighten it as I please(not perm it, but some heat) just for some versatility! thank you!!
thanks for this vid! i have heat damage in the back , is there any chance that my hair texture will return to normal? or will i have to cut it? are there any treatments that have worked for you?
@ashjolene09 No, there is no magical product that will revert your heat damaged hair back to its original texture. There are products that will help moisturize your hair to lessen the occurance of heat damage and/or the progression of split ends traveling up the shaft of brittle damaged hair. Fact: The hair that is damaged from heat will remain so unless you cut it off. <3

Trying to take care of heat damaged hair is like trying to baptise a cat, it never works out well in the end.

@ashjolene09 Heat damage is permanent, so it wont curl back up. You would have to cut it if you want to get rid of the straight hairs
