An insightful interview. Uwe shows that he actually knows what he is doing unlike many people believe. He knows what he is doing, he understands what's happening around him, and he uses it to his own advantage. Maybe not a good filmmaker, but definitely not an idiot. His video game films aren't the best but his own films which are not based on video games are actually quite good in aspects, most of the video game films star well known actors but his films that are not star lesser known actors, but there more story driven.
@Ehmkehewlett thats because he doesnt have to cater to video game fans or base the work on any popular work..his own films can be just anything allowing more freedom to write the script. Some of his non video game films are still pretty bad...but are much more enjoyable than his video game adaptations.
In this video Uwe seems like a nice knowledgeable person. I'll admit most of his movies aren't good at all and are just plain painful to watch. But considering the fact that Hollywood shits out films every few weeks that are a remake of someone who made that before them a few decades ago he's alright in my book, because at least he's trying to turn video games into movies something that is very hard to do because video games are all action and no story, and movies are the opposite.

Bolls Filme sind eine Folter, aber als Mensch ist er mir sehr sympatisch. Und im Vergleich mit Ulli Lommel ist er ein Genie.
Allerdings fühlte ich mich nach dem "House of the dead" geistig vergewaltigt, und war kurz davor irgendjemandem weh zu tun (ein Idealfall wäre den Uwe selbst dazu zu zwingen diesen Film anzuschaun und zwar so lang bis er den Versand verliert)

His video game films aren't the best but his own films which are not based on video games are actually quite good in aspects, most of the video game films star well known actors but his films that are not star lesser known actors, but there more story driven.

@Ehmkehewlett thats because he doesnt have to cater to video game fans or base the work on any popular work..his own films can be just anything allowing more freedom to write the script. Some of his non video game films are still pretty bad...but are much more enjoyable than his video game adaptations.

In this video Uwe seems like a nice knowledgeable person. I'll admit most of his movies aren't good at all and are just plain painful to watch. But considering the fact that Hollywood shits out films every few weeks that are a remake of someone who made that before them a few decades ago he's alright in my book, because at least he's trying to turn video games into movies something that is very hard to do because video games are all action and no story, and movies are the opposite.

Honestly, he doesn't seem like such a bad guy in this video. He just doesn't make very good movies in my opinion. Although, I am rather curious to see how he would make Super Mario Brothers movie. It certainly couldn't be worse than the one that came out in 1993.

I mean how hard is it to write a dialogue that doesnt sound as if it was written by a bunch of 12y.o. retarded cavemen? This guy even has a degree in literature or smth. I think it'd be fairer for people to judge him off the back of his own creativity instead of trying to Frankenstein 'original' video game ideas, developed for play inside a video game environment with all the functionality that lends itself to the platform of distribution, and his own ideas and agendas? I'd like to see an Uwe Boll which is dreamt up from scratch. Completely, if possible.

@DumuRaL He's done plenty! Seed, Tunnel Rats, Stoic, Final Storm? Rampage is even getting great reviews on many sites. Most of these he wrote produced and directed.

@DumuRaL I believe those are just jobs for him. Studios see that he can crank out something in a few months and figure they can get in while the marketing of the game is still hot and so they throw money at him and probably don't care about the quality of what he makes.

his movie suck, bad, worse than bad, they give the word bad a bad name (XD). I've never wished death to the guy though. But after watching House of the Dead, I knew that any movie that has his name in it, I won't bother watching or renting it. Because House of the Dead almost made me stab my eyes out. I almost cracked up on how bad the special effects, acting, & action scenes were. And the plot & story? Don't get me started.

As a avid movie collector with a taste in all sorts of different movie genres I am always willing to see pretty much any new movie that is released.Apart from House of the Dead, his best due to the gore factor, I have to say all that I have seen are painfully bad. Either he is a bad communicator with both cast or crew or the never manages to get a good script. He ends up getting good character actors displaying bad work every time. I have put my name on the petition for him to stop making movies

I don't know what to say...I watched almost all of his movies because I thought the movies must show some progress at some point, but they didn't. I am not saying I hate him, I am just saying that his movies really suck. There are a lot of independednt movies that don't suck: Donnie Darko for example....this movie had a low budget and found its audience. House of the Dead was a piece of crap and Uwe Boll can't deny that...I wished I could help him in a way...if he wants it!

He's absolutely hilarious to me.I've followed his career ever since he pissed me off with Alone in the dark.He's a hack that couldnt cut it on his own work and decided it MUST be that noone is noticing his name, so he starts buying up well known intellectual property like nobodies business in order to build his reputation on and he still messed it up.Mildly positive reviews go nowhere when the highlight of your work is trash, just get over it and stop trying to counter your critics.

The reason your movies bomb is because they suck, the reason they suck is because you are purposefully making them that way.
Oh, and defending your movies in an unrelated matter such as a boxing match is moronic at best, If you hadn't tried sucking so much on purpose from the start you might have been able to reverse it but you have cemented your reputation now, nobody else. We all know your only reason for doing movies in the first place is the tax-alleviations you got from them failing.
