  • in philippines we get this things near the river and we dont clean it like this you just wash them with cold water and boil them or grill

  • Just one question. Are you viet?

  • That was very amusing to watch. Thank you very much.

  • Are you viet.?

  • @noitskelly Viet? Not sure what you're referring to.

  • @AK49BWL vietnamese*

  • @superultramegaman5 No, definitely not lol.

  • That's a very cool idea. Thank you for sharing. Now we know how to clean our razor clams.

  • He's not cooking them, he's blanching them to kill them before cleaning.

A few seconds in the hot water, then dunk them into cold water lest they get tough.

  • all you need to do is get some clean sea water and let it stay in there for three days.. so the sand can spit out .. then cook it..

  • impressive, i wish it showed you cook em up aswell they look so nice.

  • Can you cook them witout the fussy cleaning???

  • @heelrunner Not a great idea..... It'll be like eating sand, for one.. And I don't think it's a good idea to eat their organs either.

  • How can you tell the difference from a geoduck neck and a razor clam neck when they stick out of their hole?

  • @h3llom4te The most noticeable difference is the color of their necks.. Geoduck necks tend to be redder.

  • Look quite meaty and delicious, quite a bit of meat on them! Makes good eatin'

  • Honestly u can eat the food sack. ITs only filled with plankton.

  • they look nice :) could just eat some now

  • Wait is it Hot and Cold make shells Break Like Glass do ?

  • @SharpShots2 The heat forces them to try to escape out of the shell.

  • haha put them into alcohol firstly to make them drunk so that they die drunk babe hell yeah give em so fun lmao!

  • @x0Shadowar0x Haha!

  • dont some clams have sand inside thier systems that has to be purged by letting them stay in some kind of starch solution? or does this process eliminate that?

  • @iroc464 They all have sand as far as I know, but I've never heard of having to purge them... We just cleaned out the sand ourselves with the spoons, even before we started using this method. Occasionally we'll miss a tiny bit, but it's not a huge deal if that happens.

  • This was very helpful, thanks!

  • Can one eat them raw?

  • @amazingdany I wouldn't, but I don't know if you safely *can* or not.

  • This is cruel mate):

  • listen carefully, and you can hear the clams screaming in ain

  • @deathxtra Haha! It's not the water boiling you're hearing...

  • I take my entire clam net full of my limit of razor clams and dunk it in a boiling or near boiling pot all at once. This way I minimize the chance of burning my fingers and don't use as much fuel to heat the water for so long. Then I throw them all into a cool bowl of water and pull them all out of their shells.

  • I never knew bout razoe clams. Im from cali so i dont think we have th here

  • whats a razor clam i know razort fish same thing?

  • Think I would have used tongs for that boiling water dunk...

I've used that method for soft shell clams, works well :-)

  • Well, I think he would have too.. He did mention it sometime before we started, but as we weren't exactly planning to even go clamming, we didn't bring everything along, haha.

  • Wish I had seen this before shucking 100+ clams at Ninilchik over Memorial Day. With my hands. In the cold. We will be buying a camp stove for sure!
