They're usually so docile that they can be handled bare-handed (by professionals), but some Asian species are extremely aggressive. They also have the most potent venom of any snake.

When something is venomous it means that in order for its venom to have any effect on you it must enter your blood stream. Poison on the other hand will affect you just by entering your body anywhere. If you drink venom nothing will happen to you unless you have a wound where it can enter the blood stream. Poison on the other hand will affect you when you drink it.
