One wing would always develop the needed pressure to raise before the other wing. There is only one hydraulic circuit for the wings so that was why there were not perfectly synced in the Corsair. It didn't matter much anyway. The cool thing about Buz's device is you have the option to stagger them as you see fit.
On another note, i am holding the exact same screwdriver in my hand that you were using in the video, im watching and i see it and i look at my hand it was kind of like.. "whoa.."
great looking plane I Just bought 1 my self know I need to start putting it together I wished I could locate some still photos of the wooden wing frame I cant wait to see it done will share photos once I get started on it
I've always thought about building a Stuka (gullwinged like yours); if I build it to the exact demension, will still fly well like the real plane? Please response. Thank. I also love the Corsair.
Really cool. Very well done, indeed. Do you have a version for thr Grumman Wildcat and Hellcat? Those folded back along the fuselage. I can see where the mechanism should be adaptable for that.
Reply from Buz: JR PCM10 SXII 10 channels, but only using 9 on the Corsair; Throttle Elevator Ailerons Rudder Flaps Landing Gear Canopy Tail Hook Folding Wings Yeah, yeah, Flight footage, I have some somewhere, but it's not great. Just about have my P61 ARF ready.... Buz
Kit? What Kit?Scratch. Made my own fiberglass molds for the fuselage and cowl. Made molds for the canopy, instrument panel, outer wheel hubs and brake plates, the inside gear doors etc. . One my first plane, the center wing section was built-up. One the second one (Annie Mo), a friend made a mold for the center section and I used one of his fiberglass parts. Same friend made the Radome from a mold. Outer wings are all built-up from Aune/Holman plans. Made my own retracts except tail wheel.
Thank you very much for showing that. I cant wait to see more on this lovely scale plane. F4U-Corsair has been my favorite aircraft since as long as I can remember. Excellent Job

Do you cry when you crash a plane this nice?
MOJONIXION 1 year ago
@MOJONIXION I know I would! But luckily Buz is a better RC pilot and hasn't crashed this one.

It would be interesting to see this done on a TBM Avenger, or a Wildcat. The wings folding back. Nice touch, I like it. How does it fly?
tz138 1 year ago
It would be interesting to see this done on a Grumman product. The wings folding back parallel with the fusalage.
tz138 1 year ago
This is absolutely awesome. What did you use for the skin? It's beautiful in comparison to tissue or aluminum cans.

why do you want one wing to fold slower then the other
1airplane21 2 years ago
That is the nature of the hydraulics of the period. You'll notice the speed difference if you see any Full Scale Corsairs.
rwright142 2 years ago
arent they 2 seperate hydralics i dont really understand what is the nature of the hydralics of the period?.
does this plane fly?

How's the wing strength at the joint? With a Corsair or Stuka, we're talking G's here!
What a cool setup!
RcTwinsGuy 4 years ago
Buz flies his Corsair a lot so there must not be a problem there.
rwright142 4 years ago
Just out of curiousity, what's with the whole 'arming' routine--just to prevent you from accidentally folding them in flight?
VulpisFoxfire 4 years ago
You are correct.
