Surely within those scenes you mentioned there were/are lot of original groups. But for me, when there is a 100 bands from the same town, playing the exact same fucking music, it stops being original at some point.

@Mahalist Nirvana was following a scene, just so you know, and most people within that scene didn't really think Nirvana was the best or most original from it. If you want original, listen to The Locust. But seriously, original is the first, not the ONLY. The early Death Metal bands were original because they each had their own sound and basically knew nothing about the other bands - Death, Possessed, and Necrophagia are original bands. Thrash too - Exodus is an original band. There's plenty.

I am a published non-fiction author. In 1981 I wrote a poem within a self-published monograph called The Story of Mary Bell.

In the 4th stanza, I wrote the phrase: "Mary Bell, the child from hell" Though not formally published, it WAS copyrighted.

I will be seeking legal advice as to a lawsuit of those plagiarizing bastards!!
