  • i got windows xp and im playing video games on it , hahaha ..hah... OH FUCK IT!

  • OR! Put a dual boot menu, On your computer. On my HP a6313W and HP n3200s. I have Windows XP and Windows 7 on them. There are tons of tutorials on YouTube. To show you, how to partition your hard drive. So you can put, 2 operating systems or more. On one hard drive.

So, you can run old programs and new programs, on one computer. Just stay away from the VISTA....JUNK! From personal experience

  • bull vista is junk if your going to use vista go with the 32 bit with a high end video card for a smooth frame rate vista it self is not stable 64 bit would crash

  • The best OS would be none. They need to create a gaming OS for PC hardware so game developers can directly access the hardware instead of all the software layers they have to go thru. You would have simple menu system like the old Xbox and thats it; Games would really if they could dump slow crappy windows. You could create another partition on your computer and boot windows or boot your game console. I really miss when we could reboot out of windows 95 and boot games in Dos

  • xp is the best to go with

  • hmm, dunno if anyone else thought the same, but some of the still shots for '3DGAMEMAN"s videos make him look like Les Stroud (Survivorman)

  • i would like, and would definitely buy, an OS that was specifically made for PC gaming, maybe some permutation of Win7 that has been modified, streamlined and well thought out to offer the maximum performance and smoothest experience for it's specialized task.

  • Yeah but on some level every microsoft operating system is unstable

  • Solaris would be the best, except... you can't install anything on it (quake is really the only one that does work, but it's old.)

Like a game console, Solaris as an OS actually "gets out of the way" when you game. It's incredibly stable. It's a pity it isn't even considered by folks who simply want to surf or type documents. If all my programs installed on it, I'd use it for sure. I've benched the hell out of it and tried to crash it on purpose with bit changers.. ya can't crash it xD

  • Well, if you're looking for the best os for gaming you should take a look here: goo(dot)gl/Jtkgm

  • @Tzeapa12345 forgot to say it includes Windows XP, Windows 7 and the upcoming Windows 8 and all architectures (x32/x64)

  • Apple is working on the gaming part... Apparently...I hope they take over the rights of OpenGL, now that would be awesome.

For me personally, I have NEVER liked windows- That's why I want to create my own operating system- an operating system of gamers! an operating system that doesn't have a wardrobe of pointless processes running in the background!! using up all my expensive GHz which I paid good money for!!

  • ... vista is good for gaming ok guess were all on crack now

  • linux may be free but most laptop and computeres come with windows or make already so...

  • You didn't even mention any aspects of what makes Microsoft the better operating system other than developer support which Microsoft probably paid for. Although, reality hurts I guess...

I'm still in shock that Linux support has dropped EVEN FURTHER while the Linux user-base is actually going up.

  • Was this video made before Windows 7, Ive heard alot about windows 7 being bad, but then i get told that its good for gaming. Whats your thoughts gameman

  • I don't think there is a "best OS for gaming ",I think is more about which system video game developers create their games and they develop more for Windows because is more widely used.

  • @magnetoazulhuevon It doesn't really matter what you have once you're in the game, but with Linux and Mac computers, there are tons of games that won't even run on them. Therefore, out of these three Windows is the "Best"

  • @Ruflcopta Windows is the "best" for gaming and I wont argue about that .As I said in my comment

if video game developers were to create their games for different OS (Linux ) things would be way different

because Linux is FREE and you know, Windows is not . :p

  • @magnetoazulhuevon True, but this likely will never happen.

  • @Ruflcopta It is likely it won't happen now ,but lets wait and see .I can run some Windows games

in Linux using a program called Wine(Windows program emulator) so, It might be that developer turn to Linux once Linux is more widely used

or that some programmers find their way around .

  • @magnetoazulhuevon

So something is faster and more productive if it's more expensive? - right...whatever...

Linux can run OpenGL- also the same with Macintosh- OpenGL is Easier to learn then DirectX...Trust me I know...

  • vista is garbage... haha i hate it so much

  • @oblivion9122 check the date of the video. Vista was the newest OS at the time and as gamer you want the newest drivers and OS plus with the added support of DX10 most gamers will take the hit on their system.

  • I would have to say Windows. Currently Mac does have a handful of games on Steam, and some more independent games. Linux is capable, but does not have very many intense games. Windows emulators can be used on both systems, but they're costly.

  • Trollface 0:58

  • intel core i7 extrme 990x nVidia quadro 6gb 18 gb of ram and 1000w i cant install iwindows help me my godfather spend money to give this to me :(

  • hi there i need some advice to select os for my gaming.....my config id

    2gb ram ddr2

    nvidia gforce 9400gt 1 gb

amd phenom 2 processor 3.17ghz dual core

and 500 gb hard disk space please advice which operating system i should use...

  • @Manjunathbhovi

    1: windows 7

2: 2gb ram is not enough for most games nowadays, you should upgrade to a ddr3 motherboard and 4 gb of ddr3 ram, do not buy 4gb ddr2 ram because its actually cheaper to buy a new mobo and ddr3 ram because ddr2 is outdated and costs more, also be sure to get a motherboard that has the correct socket for your processor

  • i hav geforce 210 1gb n core i3 4gb ram n windows xp sp2 converted to sp3 it runs da game prety smoth when its morning on 800x600 resulotion but high but at night it lags when da car's head lights r onn n all dat i dnt knw may b its sumthing wrong with da game or may b with windows but it must no hav to slow down on core i 3 wid 1gb 210geforce HELP ME i gues its sumthing with its VERSION TOO ?

  • what bout windows 7 with dircetx11

  • @hejmeddig713 check the date on this video July 08 man... 08!

  • @hejmeddig713 The video here is old, but yes that would be the best os for gaming.

  • Why does everyone hate vista? I dont get it? I had 2 XP computers which (not through viruses or me) just literally destroyed themselfs but slowly destroying all of its inside equipment lol? Then i got a Vista which was brilliant. Never failed me once, only prob is that it was a single core which is extremely outdated for gaming so ive ordered a quad core i-5 2.80Ghz 8GB RAM computer with windows 7 ( so im gonna see how windows 7 performs)

  • Windows 7

  • wow so thats how microsoft builds a stable system, just add a dash of linux WHOOPS i droped the whole bottle in!! "LETS PATENT THAT"

  • @kubuxx1551 IDK!!!! You tell us :S

  • As a mac user i clearly say: Windows. The support for this OS hardware- and software wise is better than any other OS, pretty much everything is being perfected for windows and with windows 7 you've got a very stable and secure system that doesn't drain your resources like vista did.

  • windows XP sp3 is best, vista & Win 7 is all visualization Plus they are heavy ,XP is lighter i.e, Best for playing games

  • @mandarmahadik1 No, vista does suck, Windows 7 manage memory 100x times better than windows XP, in most gaming case Windows 7 will give you more fps in games, Windows 7 closes useless prossess, it only open them when needed, multiple core manage is much better as the memory management. Windows 7 is not heavy, it may seem like it but it manage it in a wonderful way and when you need performance you has it.

@crissxxx Linux is stable for servers, not so stable for desktops if you ask me :).

  • Comment removed

  • DOS!!!!

  • Windows is great for gaming. As for Safe isnt the best since you can surf safely and stil be attacked. If someone wants to break into your pc to prove it then he will do it.

  • Windows 7 for entertainment such as games or movies being user frendly .However as the best Os is Linux since its the most stable and efficient.Ask any company why they use linux servers instead of Windows servers or from attacks why they use Linux to back up their operation. The only problem is that Linux wasnt made for avarage users.

  • I would have never recommended Vista for ANY pc, even back in 2008.

  • Win 7, but I guess this was done a while ago...

  • Windows XP sp3 is the best

  • @Gorowara тщщи

  • @Gorowara тщщи

  • vista sucks

  • @kubuxx1551 Windows 7

  • fuck 7 if your willing to do a little work linux is better os all around but you pc noobs dont want to bother so you suck bill gates dick there i said it i went there oh hell dont get me started on this shit

  • @FALLOUT3bitch

So your saying, that even without native gaming support, Linux (Ubuntu) would be a better option right out of the box? Since I have just installed it, and it took me nearly 2 hours of finding software just to run Warcraft 3... but yhea, overall it seems like a better OS, just not for pure gaming performance :)

  • @dennyaaa

i'm an extensive linux user and even i don't think its a good choice for gaming. i'm not surprised it took you that long to find out how to play warcraft 3 - one of the issues with linux is theres no good or official documentation to help start you out, typically you have to fend for yourself. btw i'd switch to something different - ubuntu is really starting to suck lately. if you want something easy, use mint. thats heading is a good direction

  • @dennyaaa i meant was a better ALL AROUND os i would have to agree that win 7 has a better game support but that shitty win live and all that agravating shit but i practically live on computers so i know windows 7 inside and out so and yes to answer your question if ubuntu fedora wtf ever is a better gaming choice IF IT HAD THE SUPPORT but thats my opinion and yes i was rather flared up at windows at the time

  • @FALLOUT3bitch UMADBRO?

  • Windows 7 and XP is the best for gaming, just make sure to get 64-bit

    I repeat!!!!! 64-bit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Joshay25 To be safe.. maybe, but Windows 7 is commonly used on Netbooks that have 1Gb of RAM. Microsoft doesn't lie in the requirements. =P

Also, how can you call Windows 7 new.. I'd understand if that post was when he/she originally asked like 6 months ago or whatever.. but three weeks ago 7 was not new.. xD It's VERY stable and very secure now, I never have crashes or any virus/spy-ware problems. (I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 86x)

  • Windows 7 64bit SP1. Best choice for gaming.

  • @ps3pitos You're so stupid. I was obviously asking the dude who made the video.

  • This is GAY

  • i prefer xp to vist and 7 to xp,

  • I have no had any really bad errors with windows XP. Even when I build a new computer, I'll still be using windows xp.

  • @visionimagify Then you're really missing out..

Unless you're not into gaming and you don't care what your operating system looks like, and you don't mind having a user interface that's 3 generations old, and it really shows. =P

Vista sucks, Windows 7 is amazing.

  • @SilverJigProductions I was thinking about windows 7 next year when I build another computer.

  • @visionimagify I think that's a good idea. =] Haha. I don't know, I still love XP, it's just really starting to feel outdated, to me anyways.. I think we can all agree that almost anything is better than Vista though. xD

  • this is 2008 video, windows 7 wasn't released yet

for now, :) go windows 7 instead of vista

  • 3.1 works best

  • i used for windows xp pro edition -32 bit installed

  • Comment removed

  • wich windows version is best for games on a good and new laptop, is it vista home premium?

  • @lolyjoly123 No, I'd say Windows 7.. doesn't really matter what version of it as long as it's not "Starter" Haha. =P

  • why hasn't Microsoft made a "Windows Gaming". it could be like 7 only using ALOT less memory

  • Windows 7 wasn't out when this was recorded so stop complaining. I played a game in Windows 7 and in Windows XP. I noticed a significant increase in frame rate when using windows 7. Maybe because windows 7 has DirectX 10, but what I do know is that Windows 7 is the way to go. Also as of March 8 2010 Steam has been released for Mac OS X, making it now an official gaming platform.

  • what about window 7 ? u left out window 7!!! u MAKE window 7 feel left out lol jk

  • i saw this in keygenpawnage(dot)tk

  • Are you an idiot ?!

Vista takes like 1gig of ram and

Xp kinda takes 200mb or something ...

+ xp has lower system requirements ..

    no harm intended

  • Tiny XP Beast Edition is best. Only has the stuff you need, doesn't have IE (has Firefox instead, and I think that Browsar can do anything you normally would need IE for, and it doesn't need to be installed), and best of all it takes only around 40 MB of ram =D

I can actually play Megaten on a 1.8 ghz cpu (although maybe having over 1.6 MB ram and a 512 MB video card helps xD)

  • who the fuck asked that?

  • hay windows 7 is just like vista but anyway there is another os called windows xp gamers editon and it is really compact(102mb) and dose not have many processes running to save up ram and cpu + it has a DirectX10 capable

  • If you like arcade games go with Ubuntu 10.04, virus free then and there are many many games to play xD

  • put your money in your gpu and cpu, xp works find for gaming for now anyway

  • DOS. I recommend DOS for gaming. Unbelievable that he didn't even mention it.

  • @gibbousmoon100 lol, DOOM baby i mean seriously why do people sleep on DOS, it basically runs windows. There would be no windows if it DOS were to die.

    windows 3.11 ftw!! LOL

  • HI, Im getting a new PC for gameing. If I get the 64 bit, Im I going to have a problem playing any new games? Such as Modran warfare 2, Just cause 2, far Cry 2 etc. This is what Im buying..Intel i7 980x overclocked to 4.2 6Gb Kingston HyperX (2) Graphic card ATI Radeon HD 5970 PCI-E 16X 2GB GDDR5 Video Card. Please let me know thanx.

  • @uphill248 no, that depends on your OS i have win7 x64 and have no problems at all with those games you listed

  • @uphill248 hell no man i got one clocked @ 2.10 with 3gb of ram amd sempron SI-42 32-bit windows 7 soon to be downgraded to the windows xp gamers

  • @uphill248 o sorry i forgot to tell that i can play gta 4 fairly slow

  • look @ the date morons. this is summer 2008! there was no windows7

  • my O.S is window7 and cant support directx11 bcoz of my video card is only NVIDIA can i download or use directx9 for replacement?

  • windows 7 i like but there is just 1 problem with it

its not compatible with my graphics card :(

  • i admit Xp was much better then Vista for along of thing

  • Windows 7 owns Xp xp was great but people have face reality 7 is proven faster then Xp

  • Go with XP

  • why doesnt microsoft build a pure stripped version of whatever system is best into a native gaming OS designed solely to play games, ahh XBOX is that what they call it hmmm - Forget i said that.

  • @cyanide2b

    -.-

  • Comment removed

  • @cyanide2b @cyanide2b Well about that....... Microsoft's XBOX doesn't run on windows......... It runs on Linux! Go figure lololololololol

  • i got a question hwo do i tell wat processor i have a 32 or 64 hum

  • linux is best for CPU, encoding. But xp and 7 is certainly best to go for gaming

  • lol dont go with windows vista XD

  • wtf vindows GlisTA??? are hi insane.????

for the same game what in win XP runds with 1 GB ram runs in vista wiht 1.5 Gb..... fukcing vista

  • na na na, you've got it all wrong

I think the MAC Os is the best for gaming - I really do cause at that price it must be good at something eh??

Well. What else would you pay that much more for AHH, I know now, its a little tiny piece of metal in the shape of an apple the logo.

Only kidding, Id say windows7 or XP all the way - probably XP for reliability but 7 for new games.

  • 3d game man gives the BEST answers.

  • windows 7:S

  • Windows Vista is the best for gaming.

Windows 7 lags too much in gaming

  • What about windows 7? I still use XP cause vista sucks but I'm thinking of trying out windows 7.

  • Microsoft is shit :p so it doesnt matter if u choose xp or windows7 :) it will always be crap

  • @1001000011 Vista stinks ever worse :P

  • Vista is a virus :p

  • What operating system would you suggest then..?

  • For gaming.. XP :p

    Else linux

  • yeah, XP is ok.

Linux is if you feel adventurous, and a Mac if you like throw a lot of money and have a very limited game catalog

Vista sucks, and 7 sucks 0,001% less :P

  • @garrythefish1 win7 rapes all other

  • no. your mother is raped by your grandpa

  • huh!!!!

how can you insult microsoft like that?

  • dude your retarded, microsoft isnt shit, whats your acomplishment? nothing? lets see your award winning os? come on! i wanna see what you got thats better than windows 7.

  • oh lol ur taking it rly serious xD

It is just a comment dude... lol

  • oh i take it really seriously. hahahahahahaha

  • @MissRLA The windows 7 is about 450% better than Vista and 250% better than xp.

  • @MissRLA Windows 7 is awesome vista is so buggy

  • @MissRLA I have both, and 7 is MUCH better, compared to vista it is like Heaven

  • @MissRLA Stick with XP, I just did the mistake of going to 7 and I have experienced lots and lots of frame drops, and lag. I'll go back to XP in a few days.

  • @MissRLA get w7, 64bit ultimate, it hella worth the upgrade from xp... assumeing of course you got a 64bit cpu, and dx10 or higher gpu.. other wise stick with xp

  • @MissRLA after i installed windows 7 all my lags at game dissapeared

  • @MissRLA

Go with Windows 7 if you are concerned about Direct X 10 and/or Direct X 11, i´ve found that it runs much better than XP because and is better optimized for your hardware. It also offers better problem solving and more useful tools.

I had Windows XP for over 3 years until i recently switched over to Win 7 and im very pleased! Of course it takes some time to get used to, but arent we all beginners some time in life. :D

  • @MissRLA 7 and XP are about the same on how well games run however 7 has DX11 but do not use vista as its a resource hog. 7 also has better security so ye get 7.

  • @MissRLA let me tell you that windows 7 is awesome vista and xp sucks but 7 is very good for gaming cuz it works with xp and vista games just run it in administrator and in compatibility for vista or xp upgrade custom to 7 windows 7 is the better windows for gaming!!

  • @MissRLA Look at post date... Windows 7 64 bit... cant go wrong with that runs butter smooth.

  • @MissRLA Windows 7 is a lot better for gaming. I played mirror's edge (it has motion blur and all of the other graphics intensive things and whatnot) on XP and Windows 7, but i found in Windows 7 I got noticeably higher frame rates. Maybe because I was playing on a laptop, but Windows 7 is definitely the way to go.

  • @MissRLA i use windows 7 ultimate and games fly on it. Try it out you will love it.

  • @MissRLA Defidently. I am using it right now on a 8 year old PC and the performance is great. Its almost the same speed as XP.

  • @MissRLA Windows 7 wasn't anywhere NEAR out when this was posted.

  • @DeltaPhi79 windows 7 is the best of windows os.. it runs smoothly (even on an old 2003 xp dell) and absolutly NO errors! currently im running windows 7 Ultimate, i love it :D

  • @TreeTopSky That wasn't my point you tard.... Someone said Windows 7. Windows 7 wasn't out when this video was posted. Nothing about 7 applies to this video.

  • @DeltaPhi79 hahahaha, you aparently thought i was insultin you or somthing... no i was just posting my opinion of win7 ;) but its cool, ppl make mistakes :D

  • @MissRLA its badass im using it right now!

  • @MissRLA i have both... i have to say 7 is a bit slow in my opinion.. but it kinda depends on your system : /

  • @MissRLA this was made in 08, there was no Win7 at this time

  • @KeskasidvarGaming Yeah I know it wasnt out yet. I was asking the guy who made the video if windows 7 is better than xp for gaming.

  • @MissRLA this video was uploaded before windows 7 was released. Because vista was such an embarrassment for microsoft (like the iphone 4 is for apple), windows 7 is everything vista should have been, go for windows 7.

  • @MissRLA Windows 7 is great, I highly reccomend you give it a try at your local best buy, or other electronic stores.

  • @JERB69s why do that when theres the piratebay

  • @MissRLA This video was released before Windows 7 was even mentioned >.>

  • I hope linux makes a distribution just for gaming

  • It doesn't matter if someone makes a linux for gaming. Game developers and gaming hardware and device manufacturers will have to support it. Otherwise, the distribution will be useless.

Microsoft certainly did not design Windows to be a gaming OS. But all the game developers and hardware makers support it. They make their products around Windows. That's why Windows become the default and best gaming OS.

  • windows is only the best game os because it has the most users. i use windows xp.

  • where on it^_^,.

  • I have had Vista on my rig for quite a while (specs in my Chanel) and the only BSOD or artifacts is when i was overclocking other than that Vista 64 bit is perfect for me.

  • however, windows xp cannot run msdos games that u need dosbox to run.i have windows xp and dosbox.

sry if my english is bad...

  • Thats bs.. my cousins 64-bit operating type always gets erors which made me get the 32-bit which is stable.

  • xp is cool in gaming but not supporting all games

  • windows xp pro 32 bit is the best for gaming 64 bit doesnt support everything.

  • I got windows 7 ultimate 32-bit. It is alright, not the best thing ever..

  • 32 bit sucks for serius gaming...

  • I think I knew that big guy.

  • naaa! :) depends on waht else u have . like graphics card or CPu even RAM.

im getting windows 7 32 bit ill get 64 bit then it develops even more . not much point to get it rite at this point .

  • WINDOWS 95 all day GAMING STYLE... LOL

  • lmfao

  • @TipCamStudio Windows 95 is good for gaming?

  • @TipCamStudio like dx5

  • I'm not gonna argue about the memory consumption by Win7. But yes, and that it pretty understanable since it's based on Vista. Otherwise with a 64 bits OS that shouldn't be any problem. For myself I use 6Gig of RAM which is already somewhat overkill.

  • WINDOWS 7 CRUSHES ALL

  • would a g force 9600 make my vista premuim faster ?

  • How much ram does XP use? Window 7 only uses 1gb of ram. Vista uses 2gb of ram.

  • 512 mb >= XP

  • Windows XP also was designed around 9 year old computers. comparing xp's resoruces to windows 7 is like comparing windows xp to windows 3.11. Windows XP had it's day in the sun and it's time to move on. Windows 7 has much better support for multi-cores then XP did and it has the latest graphic technology like support for DX 11 that windows xp doesn't have let alone support for DX 10.

  • Windows 7 def. Windows XP was better then Vista overall performance wist minue not having Direct X 10, but Windows XP is showing it's age now def after the relase of Windows 7. Windows XP doesn't support Direct X 11 let alone Direct X 10. So for a gamer you pretty much have to go with Windows 7 now to get the best of both worlds in perforamnce and the latest graphics technology.

  • everone tells me windows vista suck monkey balls even the people at the computer store tell me that I should get WindowsXP for my gaming P.C
