haha thers one of these im my closet somewhere... glad i bought the piece of crap when Zellers dropped the price to $19.99 rather than at full price..
Yeah, I got mine for $15-20 CAD, they were so cheap I bought 2. They are pretty good for the price. It took a while to get mine to be accurate, but once I got it all set up, it worked fairly well.
Although this is useable still in this day and age, its pretty much obsolete. The homebrew VR crowd have created some really cool VR gloves with arduinos, accellerometer chips and technology similar to the Wii. Hell, the Wii uses technology licensed from Gyration for its controllers.
I haven't really had a problem with it. My problem is battery power. Alot of them are semi-affordable. The best ones though usually are the homebrew VR devices by hobbyists.
How do you turn around with it? Seriously? If I'm to believe you can play shooters with it, what happens when someone is trying to stab me in the spine?
The most recent open source drivers have improved accuracy significantly. Also, the things you can do with this glove for live music is simply incredible. I do agree this is hardly something for gamers but rather for creative people who'd experiment with music outside the box.
@iklintsov That's a false problem because you can modify the sensitivity so that, for example, an actual 90° rotation of your hand corresponds to a 360° rotation in the game.
I have one, got it for $20. Surprisingly accurate for that price, shockingly so even, wasn't expecting much for $20 but then I guess it used to sell for like $300. It makes a decent mouse and some games are more interesting with it but ultimately I went back to using my mouse. I get it out to use with Google Earth sometimes or Black and White (which has special support for it) but that's about it.
But how to do you fap with it on? D:

I wonder what happens if you need to turn 360 degrees...
iklintsov 3 years ago
you can momentarily pause the mouse movement by bending the pinky finger.
this is similar to lifting your mouse off the desk.

I thought of the Power Glove for NES, and how they were similar in how stupid of an idea they both were.

I bought one a couple years ago for about 20 bucks.
It was indeed tiring. And it was also didn't respond that well. Further, it was useless in games.
