@Bullets4Teeth I'd be wary of believing anything you see these days tbh. I think it is far more important to choose carefully who you believe. Reliable witnesses (verifiable) hold far more weight. However, videos from people who just got lucky, I'd be more inclined to trust... but nothing is guarenteed.

Just for the record, even though this is computer graphics, I have had at least 4 sightings in my life that defy normal explanation. We are not alone, and I honestly believe we are being visited

Nice job on the model. I have never used Lightwave but I know it is a really good program that has been around for a long time. It started out on the Commodore Amiga computer and was used for the show Babalon 5.

I use Carrara. It's not high end but it is simple to use. I also have Maya and I am just starting off but so far I love it.

Keep up the good work and try not to listen to the haters.

Nicely done! If I understand the comments, this is a class project in Lightwave? They still teach Lightwave? I assumed that 3DS Max and Maya have pretty much taken over the mainstream 3D production world. (Max of course has always been strong).

@alterego227 Not a class project. Just created in a little spare time. I work using Lightwave full time. Max and Maya are big, but Lightwave is far from out of the ring. It is just much bigger in the US than in the UK. You'll see Lightwave on a large proportion of TV shows with any effects. For speed and features, it just can't be beat. Max is just plain awful, and shouldn't be as dominant as it is. It is merely because of the games industry that it has such a hold. Thanks for the comment : )

@saladfingers123456 I used Lightwave up until 2002 (I think it was 4?) when our department was convinced to buy Max 3.0 and character studio, by someone who didn't even do 3D work. I HATED Max! I think it's the most un-intuitive program I have tried. I made the switch to Maya 5 on my own since it was gaining such popularity. I am now in Maya 2011 and really love it.
