Gen1 and Gen2 immediately after the movie I think is what he's talking about, I didn't much care for the post movie series, after prime and prowl got killed (and scared the shit out my 9 year old mind) I lost interest.

Not all the toys were reprints plus it had a good comic book series to go with it, but yeah; the G2 series was just cheap.

I agree. G2 sorta sucked. THe only G1 transformers I only payed attention to was Soundwave and his lil cassette tape posse, bumblebee, blaster, Galvatron(Megatron was way better), and Prime.
