  • Nicely done!

  • is it sad that i noticed the explosion where the daleks blow up was taken from rememberance of the daleks where the special weapons dalek destroys the 2 renergades?

  • Brilliant.

  • kinda amazing that where ever these Daleks troll..the land is flat. simply amazing.

  • If A Dalek Was A Transformer, It Would Become A Tank

  • Excellent, just like the enhanced 'Star Trek' series

    of the 60's. Great idea.

  • I see you took the Daleks Explosion from Rememberance & mixed it in! The Dalek Hover Pad was tacky.. But Oh my God.. The Graphics on the Jungle Sky & the Flying Beasts.. Was Just Pure Magic!

Everyone.. with affects like these be prepared to buy titles for a second time!

  • This would be an awesome story on dvd if they included some extra cgi added effects on to it.

Instead of toy daleks,as someone mentioned earlier in the caves, they could use some computer wizardry to make it even better.

It's one of my favourite Dalek stories too!!

  • if this story hag an cgi effects optoin injsted of the orignals id sat top marks

however replacing the orginal rffrcts without a choice is a travesty

  • This is a great video top marks! Nevermind the Restoration team.

  • This story had the best Dalek voices ever.

  • I couldn't agree more with that comment!!

    :)

  • Other good shots would be the Dalek army in the caves, and when the Thal bomb blows open that wall to let the liquid ice flow in, especially for the Dalek toys seen in that scene.

  • Nice work! I like how subtle your effects are, which is just how visual effects should be instead of screaming "look at me, I'm a special effect and I cost a fortune!"

  • Like it, a pity they couldn't have done it like that in the first place. I'd forgotten how battered looking and fragile the old Dalek props looked. From what I remember of this story they have several non-explosion scenes where the camera whites out and then a few dalek bits are scattered around. Good to see you've added some gushing flames. Love the Pterosaur. You'll have to tackle the night creatures represented by light bulbs next.

  • Thanks for this, i remember watching this otherwise reasonble story and feeling ripped off at the origional '0.58' boom

  • Wow, that's great. I hope this one gets an overhaul whenever it gets to dvd.

  • I've just read on the Restoration Team site that episode 3 of this story has been restored to colour for DVD and that the results are superb. An overhaul to its original state:)

  • Mindrobber...thanks for that much more satisfying explosion! And the Dactyls, great job! :D

  • Oh, marvelous! This is certainly a prime candidate for new FX when released to DVD. I hope you can work with the Restoration Team when the time comes!

  • Very good.

I think you should try and recreate the massed Dalek army out of this story as I think you could pull it off really well.

  • The old doctor who looked so Jokes.

  • Very nicely done!

  • I like the birds wheeling in another sky. Good job :)

  • I just love the bit where the DAlek flies on hat hover board-it's so slick and not to slacking it's not slow and boring or bad like in Rememberance! It's better than the part where an imperial Dalek was flying up the stairs in Rememberance-that Da.lek was slow and bad quality! Planet Of The Daleks has quality!

  • FANTASTIC!

  • Bloody brilliant

  • You've pepped it up good, nice n spicy!

  • That was really excellent! It lives up to Terry Nations imagination.

  • its good because its not over done, it ties perfetly with the orignal footage

  • some people say you shouldn't mess around and change the classics, but i love stuff like this! really makes the story more interesting

  • This is really good! Especially the birds at the stone circle.

  • absolutely astounding... very, very well done

  • i love the editing at the plain of stones with the things flying around at 1:24

  • This is brilliant stuff and really improves the story to what was originally written in the script. Keep it up mindrobber you're ACE!!

  • Very nice indeed.

  • Ok , i didint know , thou i had a feeling there was a connection .

  • Wait , are you telling me thats your website thats on Dalek Links ?

  • Yeah - notice my YouTube profile is "themindrobber"? :-)

  • Ive seen this on w w w . t h e m i n d r o b b e r . c o . u k along with Day of the Daleks as well .

  • Yep, I have indeed linked to them on my website.

  • Oh Wow, superbly done. PLanet Of The Daleks was one of my favourites. Brilliantly done, you should show some of this stuff to the BBC. You could make a career out of this.

  • Sorry if someone's already spotted this but: 0.36, Left top hand corner, there's a guy on one of this high-wire thingies!

  • Erm actually it's one of the pterodactyl monster things from the next scene circling round. At least you spotted that I put something in the sky...!

  • Oh yeah! LOL I'm such a dick! I thought you'd matted in some footage from a forest that you'd shot yourself!

  • Someone at the Dr Who restoration team should give you a job working on DVD releases!

  • Awesome job!

  • That is f*cking AMAZING! I loved the anti-gravitational disc and the flying creatures. Superb work! I couldnt quite make out (due to YouTube compression) what had been done in the shot of the Daleks in the jungle, but this is truly clever work. Well done, man. That is sensational.

  • Is that explosion from Remembrance? Lovely stuff- the matte shot is great!

  • Hehe yeah it is. You're not the first person to spot it! I love the fact that we fans can even recognise what episode a particular explosion is from!

  • How about replacing the ridiculous 'Button Moon' Dalek saucer in this story with something a bit tastier?

  • I was thinking that actually, plus also adding the Thal ship which we never see land.

  • Also, I only just noticed the matt shot for the jungle as the daleks pass thru! Well done again!

  • Best CGI Dr Who enhancemnts I've seen here! Truly amazing! You demonstrate both skill and restraint. The effects are awesome but disciplined. The anti-grav disk being the best example. However, the big stuff you do also rules! Do you take requests?

  • Very kind words from you and everyone else. Many thanks indeed. I can't guarantee I'll get round to it, but if you suggest a clip to improve upon I'll take it onboard!

  • fucking brill work!!

  • :O love this :D

  • Seriously, dude... have ou submitted any of this to the BBC? I know that it would probably be ignored like all good stuff but it's worth a shot. This is easily broadcast uality.

  • Great work as always! I'm constantly amazed at what a little time and effort (not to mention skill and imagination) can do for old Dr Who eps. Really brings the whole thing to life!! Keep up the good work.

  • Absolutely amazing!!! I agree... you should do 'new effects' versions for the DVD releases... I'd be very keen to pay for that! The matte shots were particularly cool and really added atmosphere and scale (which is, what I find, a lot of the old effects are lacking, good or bad). Fantastic work!!!

  • As with everything else you've done...superb!

  • Aboslutely amazing matey, the BBC really should allow you to do the SFX recons on the DVD's.

  • Excellent work.

  • id really like u cyberrob n peggymount produce the ultimate title sequence featurin all 10 doctors! i think u could come up with something fantastic!

  • that was excellent the only thing is the AGD (anti gravitational disc) i think the only thing that was meant to hover was the black disc on the top of the pad and the box under neath is meant to charge it up or somthing, nice work though

  • brilliant

  • amazing work

  • i think the levitating Dalek is new, i'll have to watch the ep again to make sure :)

  • No, there were levitating daleks in it, but I think he might have souped 'em up.

  • mmmmmmm.... soup
