This logo was not used on Inglorious Basterds. The logo on that film said: A Universal Picture, indeed with the '70's globe, but without the byline 'an MCA company'. Look closer...
I haven't seen Land of the Lost, but I think that putting this version of the logo at the beginning was a pretty good idea. Nostalgic feelings to say the least...
I just saw Drag Me To Hell from Sam Raimi and the classic Universal Zooming Globe logo appeared except it said "A Universal Picture". Has anyone else seen that?
I saw it. Looked very nice!!! (and Drag Me To Hell was a very good flick, by the way!) Haven't seen the zooming globe on the big screen since An American Tail in 1986. Universal should seriously consider making it their current logo. A lot of fans of their older releases would definitely appreciate it!
@AlexDeLargeisHere Good question. I'm guessing because the original movie it was based on was made in the 70's/80's. Or maybe because Tarantino liked that one better.
This was one of my favorite Al Pacino's movies,Scarface used this Universal logo in widescreen and the movie's intro, very classic, 5 stars for this Scarface intro.
Taken from Scarface, love the music in the intro :)

@Jac2Mac It was also on "Inglourious Basterds".

@ForceMaximus84 Why did they use the logo from the '70s and '80s when Inglourious Basterds was situated in the '40s?
It would make more sense to use the '40s logo.
