@modewr Nope. This glitch has been present since the arcade version. The 360 version is Arcade accurate, so I guess it retains this glitch. The DS version is arcade accurate as well, but this glitch is not present there.

Hey there whoever has this problem and watching this video, i tell you i had the same problem, i was using MAME plus plus 0.119, but I found a versión of MAME called: MAME plus extended 0.127 and the glitchy screen is gone!!

it's not because of the emulator it's because the emulatoin! on ultimate mortal kombat 3 on xbox 360 i unlocked the hidden characters and since then it just started doing that! sometime it doesn't do it! it's the emulatoin and there been glitches ed boon( the creator of mortal kombat) has been telling about glitches on the arcade of ultimate mortal kombat 3! so it will happen often! thank me for the info!

Its an old arcade glitch when all the characters were unlocked, however, it's been more common on MAME then the real deal

Yeah, never happened to me on the actual arcade game. Happened to me all the time in MAME.

Oh well, I know how to temporarily fix the problem. Just start the game as player 2.

You whether beat or lose the game and input the 3 Ultimate Kombat Kodes needed to unlock them.

Mileena: 22264-22264

Ermac: 12344-44321

Sub-Zero: 81835-81835

Input them codes quickly when prompted to unlock them.

You need to download the MK3 rom as well. Get both the MK3 and UMK3 roms, and then it should work.

I had this trouble too, cos i downloaded nv file so i can keep the secret characters. but everytime the game uploaded the screen got messy. But i downloaded an other nv file and voila no more screen glitches!

*Sigh* One of those Hidden Chars is a Beta, it messses everything up, sadly...

I'm not entirely for sure if it's a single character causing it, but I think the cause is all the 3 hidden characters combined. Perhaps they are all beta characters. However, ev0lution83 is right. If you start the game as player 2, the game will be fixed until you close the emulator. You can die as player 2 and then play as player 1 and it'll still be normal. It'll take a little while longer, but it's totally worth it.

All you have to do is start the game with player 2 and the glitch goes away.

The glitch in this game is quite normal actually. There's a glitch that causes the screen to become messed up when all the hidden characters are unlocked. It supposedly happened in the actual arcade as well, but I've never seen it. I'll see if I can find the article that explains this.

I got the same problem too. So only opened Ermac and sub-zero and leave Mileena unlocked to avoid that.

I found a solution to this glitchy problem. It's not a glitch fix, but I've been messing around the nvrams. I now have a nvram that has Ermac and Sub-Zero, and I have another one that has Ermac and Mileena, so technically I can use every character, but to do so, I must change the nvrams like a cartridge.

Or use savestates. Unlock sub-zero and ermac and save the state with Lshift-F7 to A. reset Umk3 to default factory settings. Unlock sub-zero and mileena and save the state with Lshift-F7 to B. Now if u want to play with Ermac press F7 A or with Mileena press F7 B.

Easy. Start the game as player 2 instead of player 1. :-)
