What the hell is going on here? I come onto this vid, scroll down and see a big bitchfest going on. Over what? After reading through the comments it appears to be arguing over OPINIONS as to what albums are good or not. I will say this though, nighthawk does come off as a very bitter and angry child because you can't defend yourself on subjects that you are wrong about. That doesn't mean the other guy doesn't look silly too, but I suspect that's part of just responding to an angry child.

In the year and a half dvd, metallica can be shown working on ES in october 1990 and a lyric sheet is shown. In addition, recording for that album wrapped on june 16, 1991, 3 weeks before GTH was released.

Reading the argument through now properly, I can say that yes, they did give Dave credit for the songs on Kill 'Em All (although he was listed last on all the songs despite him being the main writer with little to no help from Metallica), but on the other hand, he got no writing credit from the two songs on Ride the Lightning, Call of Ktulu and Ride the Lightning. @Tarkess If you check your ride the lightning album booklet, mustaine's name is stated as composing parts of those 2 songs on RTL. It's even known which parts he contributed. [the main 'slide' riff and his much ballyhooed 'spider' riff prior to and after the solo in RTL and the chord progression for CoK, which he later also used in hangar 18]

Peace Sells is so much more creative than Master Of Puppets, and Peace Sells actually has meaning. Just like all of Daves music, it talks about war and politics. It means something.

Its so nice to see that Megadeth is still going and that, even with age, they have stayed heavy as ever. When people used to compare Metallica to Megadeth and say Megadeth was better, I always disagreed. BEFORE I heard their music, but damn, they are good. They are way better than Metallica in the note that Metallica, with age, has gotten softer and easier, not as complicated and upbeat as they used to. But Megadeth has not only kept their sound perfect, they have made it better,unlike Metallica

What the hell is going on here? I come onto this vid, scroll down and see a big bitchfest going on. Over what? After reading through the comments it appears to be arguing over OPINIONS as to what albums are good or not. I will say this though, nighthawk does come off as a very bitter and angry child because you can't defend yourself on subjects that you are wrong about. That doesn't mean the other guy doesn't look silly too, but I suspect that's part of just responding to an angry child.

@xNITEHAWK54x Mustaine didn't contribute to the whole album. Hit the lights was even written before he joined the band. Mustaine got credit for the 4 song he contributed to kill em all [or wrote the majority of like horsemen] and the 2 songs he contributed to on ride the lightning.
In the year and a half dvd, metallica can be shown working on ES in october 1990 and a lyric sheet is shown. In addition, recording for that album wrapped on june 16, 1991, 3 weeks before GTH was released.

Second, Metallica did use Mustaines work on The Four Horseman.
And who spends a year on a song? Most bands take 2 years for a whole album.

@xNITEHAWK54x Hit the lights was written and recorded for the first time on brian slagel's first metal massacre compilation album. The original pressing features the original recording featuring guitarist lloyd grant playing lead. This was before mustaine joined.
Yes metallica used mustaine's work in TFH, which is one of the songs he received credit for.
I'm sure they didn't spend a whole year on it, but it proves beyond any logical argument that they did NOT attempt to copy go to hell.

Reading the argument through now properly, I can say that yes, they did give Dave credit for the songs on Kill 'Em All (although he was listed last on all the songs despite him being the main writer with little to no help from Metallica), but on the other hand, he got no writing credit from the two songs on Ride the Lightning, Call of Ktulu and Ride the Lightning. @Tarkess If you check your ride the lightning album booklet, mustaine's name is stated as composing parts of those 2 songs on RTL. It's even known which parts he contributed. [the main 'slide' riff and his much ballyhooed 'spider' riff prior to and after the solo in RTL and the chord progression for CoK, which he later also used in hangar 18]
I couldn't care less who's gotten over what, all I care about is the music from them. It just irks me when people try to debate based on falsehoods

Peace Sells is so much more creative than Master Of Puppets, and Peace Sells actually has meaning. Just like all of Daves music, it talks about war and politics. It means something.
And the albums part is gonna get no where, we obviously have different opinions so that is kind of a pointless argument.

Peace sells, while good, isn't better than puppets. #1 it suffers from a weak 2nd half featuring a BAD cover and #2 the lyrics sound like they were written by someone in the kentucky education system. The difference between dave's political rants and metallica's political inspired lyrics is that metallica's are much more ambiguous and creative.
So, how will you be changing your story AGAIN?

And Peace Sells, is just so much more creative. The guitar riffs are some of the best ever written, the lyrics actually have a purpose instead of talking about a bunch of puppets.
And Metallicas lyrics arent creative at all, everything up to MOP Is alright, after that they suck.

Peace sells is made up of a great first half and a bland 2nd half including an absolutely horrid cover. The fact that you NEED mustaine to be so elementary with his lyrics in order to understand them speaks volumes for your lack of intellect. You know what's sad? Even the lyrics on some parts of load are much deeper, ambiguous and complex than any megadeth lyrics

And its not what he "believes" its pretty much how it is right now. Take a closer look at the lyrics, and you can see how things really are, are pretty much what his lyrics say. Load lyrics are deeper? No, Not at all.

@jostopholees did you honestly just say bad omen and my last words were weak? how exactly is my last words weak? because it seems to be a predecessor to poison was the cure, i cant even comprehend how you could not like that song...bad omen isnt my favorite song on the album but its got a great hectic feel to it,plus the solo at 2:50 in bad omen is great with the rhythm pounding behind it, i aint superstitious is meh but thats it really

And he is a genius lyricist, hes one of the best.and a lot better than anyone in Metallica. and My Last Words and Bad Omen are great, There not a weak half, and I Ain't Superstitious, thats only a cover. Those arent Daves lyrics, or anything. You cant really down Peace Sells cuz of a cover, cuz its not by him.

Its so nice to see that Megadeth is still going and that, even with age, they have stayed heavy as ever. When people used to compare Metallica to Megadeth and say Megadeth was better, I always disagreed. BEFORE I heard their music, but damn, they are good. They are way better than Metallica in the note that Metallica, with age, has gotten softer and easier, not as complicated and upbeat as they used to. But Megadeth has not only kept their sound perfect, they have made it better,unlike Metallica
