89 Camaro IROC-Z 0-60

i just bought an iroc yesterday so far i like it. going to put a roll cage in and a 500hp patriot sbc in and get rid of the TPI. will put some before video of it tomorrow. my first car when i was 14 was a 78 trans am with a 455 olds in it with headers and double pumper holly i loved that car. this is my first 3rd gen. im 32 now this one is going to be bad ass though

Damn!! I didn't know those engines could rev to 7000. I have a 305 tbi, you think it'll rev that high?

lol this one is no where near 7K. the gauges are all wrong. The motor is really only spinning to 6k or less when the gauge read 7000 rpm. its kinda cool to see the needle swing all the way to 7 tho!

@pklisz I know that it will in neutral, but a stock one starts losing power at like 5k, and the trans would shift before then unless its standard

hi irocz11389, i have an 87 iroc of my own and i think they are amazing cars. however i have a question, how is it that my tired 305 in my iroc has a 6.3 sec 0-60 without revving past 4500 and it seems that urs is longer with a modded 350? i tested mine with a stopwatch about 10-15 times and got around the same result. i guess i was just wondering if you could post another video of u doing a 0-60 but in a straight line this time and go pedal to the floor.

Its a little bit challenging when you are trying to bang shift gears, hold a camera & steer at the same time. but i will get some vids of the car soon!

i believe a iroc z can beat a 350z witch takes 5.9 to 60 seconds with around 270 torque while the iroc has around 325 torque but thats only if the iroc has the 350 but if the iroc has the 305 than it will get waxed

Bull Shit !! it has everything i said. u try taking a video driving a manual, its pretty damn hard. The car is not that slow at all. It beat a 350Z by a car and i have a the video to prove it. I shifted slow and didn't get all the way into the gas.

it seems like he changed out his rear gearing, probly somthin like 4.11s idk. cause my iroc does 45 in first gear and ive got a 3.08. his first gear does 35

okay i watched the video, but still after seeing this 0-60 video i am NOT convinced your car is faster than this. Maybe you jumped the gun on that race with the 350? 0-60 fer a 350z is like 5.5, and well this iroc isnt doing 5.5 for 0-60

I have the same question... mine does the same! I have a 92 RS with the 305 TBI... reads twice as high as what it is really revving at.

Because the gauge cluster is from a V6 Camaro, so if u got the correct V8 cluster it would work fine.

i have the proper gauge cluster in my car. my car is a stock L03 car. everything is original except rear end and exhaust. something wears out in that gauge cluster. i have a sunpro mini tach which works just fine.
