  • Man, you are awsome with helicopters

  • its like a game in the cell phone.......... up and down and up and down like dodging the bricks

  • i love it nice vid man any how can you just walk int the gym whit out paying anything here we have to pay its bull shit

  • how much

  • hmmm... strangely familiar to venom ocean rescue in terms of everything included.

  • only one con. the lipo battery. the most dangerous battery in the world .just youtube lipo battery fire .fire marshel bill burns from inliving colour grabs the battery and says >>>let me show you somethin >>lol

  • I need your help with this ship.I bought the Walkera version of this and it has always worked fine until I had a misshap and while it was on the ground not moving I forgot to take of the small bunji cord that was secureing it to it's hanger and tried to fly it and the cord wrapped around the rotors for maybe one second before I saw it.Now it spins clockwise and won't take off at all.The only broken part I can see is the steering guide and I have replaced it and it does the same thing.

  • how in the heck do you get access to a gym??

  • Is this good for outdoor flights

  • question..... i Have the canadian model of this helicopter, worked fine for about four good flys then it stopped having the lift it used too. now even with a fully charged battery it can barely lift itself off the ground? bought new battery pack and still cant' get very high. just barely hover. whats up?

  • @4jona2than0

    Motor is out

  • IS THE NEW VERSION BETTER

  • i got it brand new and when i try to make it go up all it does is turn real fast in circles i does't go up plz help

  • you need to trim it in the opposite direction than it is turning have you tryed that ?

  • You make flying heli's seem so easy. You always inspire me to pursue this hobby, but i suck at it. Can u please make a tutorial on how to properly fly a heli? please do!

  • Before anything... thanks for your videos... they're GREAT!!! Please, help me to make a good choice.... this one (Exceed Blazing Star), teh BIG LAMA or a Esky Belt CPV2????? My level is beginner... my experience is only a 3ch heli. Which one will be better for me??? Oh... I don't want to make 3d acrobatic flights.... only a good and stable heli to have some FUN!!!! Thanks, BRAZIL.

  • I wound up putting a Spectrum AR6110 2.4Ghz Rx and E-Flite 3-in-1 from the Blade CX coaxial heli on this along with getting rid of the plastic tailboom and replacing it with a hand-built carbon fiber one. I also made a custom cockpit out of thin aluminum with a female pilot figure. I currently fly it on a 3 cell 910 mah battery from the Heli-max Axe cpv3. Great flyer now! My best coaxial by far!!

  • where can i find to sign up for the xhelicopter newsletter

  • hey dave!! love your videos and reviews. did you have problems with your blazing star top motor cutting out when you accellarated?? or was yours good right out the box? i have one on the way and didnt find out about this problem until i had already ordered it!! thanks dave!!!

  • Hahaha. It sounds exactly like a B52 on full thrust.

  • I have a lama v-4 and had this heli too. I sold this one because it is soooooo easy to fly for me and not as quick as the lama. It is a great beginners heli and super tough. I flew it into a rope hanging from the ceiling of my garage and it only broke a couple of blades and bent the flybar!

  • But it doesnt seems as stale as a lama, this has no giro,to stabillised the movement

  • Its such a waste to let such a Xtreme design be an cooaxial,co-axial are 4 beginners, but this design seeems to be easily broken off

  • make vid of the syma s006

  • Why dont you fly this B Star outside in

little or no wind I would rather fly it outside

The Walkera 400D is coaxial and much

    more realistic looking........

  • xxx

  • wats the price? you never mention..

  • I gutted the stock electronics and wound up mounting a CX2 3-in-1 on one side, CX2 2.4Ghz receiver on the other side and replaced the front canopy with one of my own design. It's my favorite of my coaxial helis now and comletely glitch free and smooth!

  • is the blazing star smooth or is it kind of rough when it flys

  • you know what im starting to learn alot about rc helicopters thanks alot to you

  • NOTE: The Walkera 53#1 has plastic parts while the Exceed Blazing Star has CNC Aluminum Parts.

  • The Blazing Star is Co-Axle and a clone of a Walkera 53#1, parts interchangeable.

The look is up to the buyer. The The Blazing Star is 129.99 with the Walkera 53#1 at 109.99 but the shipping on the Walkera 53#1 is a crime at $40.00 so get the The Blazing Star with $14.00 Shipping.

The Blazing Star was my choice for looks and flew perfectly out of the box. Parts are cheap.

Overall it is the BEST1st time Heli ever produced - PERIOD!

  • is it a co axial?

  • why do men play with toys designed for teenagers?

  • whats the difference between a man and a boy?

  • i never said boy...

but since you want to know, a man has a penis about 4 times the size of a boy with facial hair and a great difference in height...

  • it was a joke.. have some humor for gods sake, jeez. No the difference is the price of their toys.

  • well i just don't understand why a man would be willing to do that.. i mean it doesnt cost much to get a REAL pilot's license... so yea........... as long as you're not color blind it's pretty easy to become a pilot..

  • where do you live? exactly!!! here in the states, you dont just walk in a plane and fly it.

If you do that within minutes you'll have couple military wings on ur tail ready to open fire.

  • im in california now, finishing college.. One of my proffesors got his pilot's license in a month... and then all u do is rent an airplane for an hour or so and fly... NOT CHEAP, but one of these childish helicopters cost $1,000 for sure... and i believe to fly an airplane(mini one) it costs like $400 per hour...

  • for sure? not really. you can get a fairly decent one for about 300.

  • well i never claimed i owned one so i wouldn't exactly know how much they cost.. but for 300 u can fly a real one for abotu 40 min!

  • They wont get everything setup, they wont rebuild it so you can start it up and shut it down a minute later.Due to FAA regulations, plane engines are required to be opened up and checked out by very close inspections before EVERY flight. They wont spent hours to take apart an engine for the inspection and couple grand to get it ready just so you can fly it for 40 minutes.

My boss from work was planning on buying a small plane but the costly inspections is the main reason why he changed his mind.

  • i dont't know maybe you're right.. but my proffesor doesn't own one, he rents it.. so it's "prechecked" i guess... he just orders it when he needs it.. and they show him where he is allowed to fly and what lines to to cross etc.. but w/e.. weird where this whole coversation has gone..

  • haha yeah, this is probably the most civilized conversation on youtube haha. I would love to fly a real plane though :)

  • dude, if you took all your planes/helicopters outside you'll be outside for hours....

  • Have you had any issues with the top rotor not turning with the bottom? I have heard some people say yes and some no. I checked everything I know to check. Just wondering if you have heard of anyone having the same issue.

  • I have one of these and it is jumpy as heck the 4 in1 I think is not adjusted correctly any suggestions on getting it right?

  • So does it work? Looks like this toy has a real swash plate with collective and cyclic controls. Am I right? And tail rotor is just for decoration?

  • Of course it works, did you not see it fly? Tail rotors on all Coaxials are for decoration.

  • Sorry, I wanted to say "how it works?" Question was about about cyclic control and swash plate. I found the answer on the web page. Also does it have the collective? I guess not, from what I've seen on the detailed pictures on the web site. Lift must be controlled just by the RPM.

  • It has cyclic head steering but no coaxials have collective pitch and your right about the lift and rpm.

  • kind of off topic, but i have had a walkera 22E and i have only ever flown it once as i am too scared to fly it.

To try and fix my fear i baught a cable (an Esky cable) for the controller of the 22e to plug it into my computer, i tryed it and it doesnt work! do you know what might be the problem with it?

    PS: i use FMS

    thanks in advance

  • Many cables do not work well with certain sims. It is kinda hit and miss. The best one that I use a lot is the ESKY sim (FMS) transmitter and cable. It costs $19.95 from Xheli and also works great with Clearview and is an even better sim.

  • ok thanks for your help !(again)

  • which should i get the Blazing Star or the Falcon 40 I am a Beginner at flying helicopters

  • Any coaxial will give you a fair chance before going into the single rotored helis. The BS, Hunter, lamas, etc are good but the MCX is also very good. After that HB MK3 is a good one too.

  • really good lookin heli.

  • Thank you sir.

  • i like all your videos so much do you have a vid on the e flite bladecx2 ?????????

  • Thanks kindly. Yep, I have a couple in there somewhere on the cx2 and upgrading too.

  • Would you agree that if a real one was built like the BS no rational person would fly in it ... no matter how "perfectly" it worked? I know Sully wouldn't ... but his standard for "perfectly" is probably a little higher than yours.

  • Well, this heli has lots of metal, including the frame. The motors are stout. The only weak thing is the landing gear and tail boom. But again I have flown in real helicopters in Nam that were barely flying and have flown many models that were worse. This is no more delicate than a model airplane made from balsa. People trying to learn without instructors on real or models, always blame the MFG when they crash.

Sorry you blame this heli for your misfortune. Send it back.

  • I bought a Blazing Star based on this video with high hopes. After flying it for a couple of months and learning more about this sport I would now say that this heli is a piece of junk. I also have learned (again) that you get what you pay for. When you buy a Blazing Star (BS -- is perfect) you are paying for cheap plastic.

It might be an OK kids toy but if your are serious about fly RC helis don't waste your money on the BS!

  • Bummer. Mine still works perfectly. Of course if you crash it, it will break. So do real ones.

  • you should do a review on the art-tech falcon 3d its a very nice heli im waiting for mine in the mail

  • If I get one, I will. In the mean time, you can. Keep me posted.

  • Dave, rather than having the antenna hanging, can you tape it to the landing skids kinda like your do on the EDF Jets and still get a good signal?

  • See my antenna mod video for this. I never back the antenna over itself. This thing glitched till I made my whip antenna and now it is perfect. Thanks for the comments..

  • my ones not this good, hey whats the music what cd is it on ?

  • Make the antenna mods in my other video for improvements. The music is generated by me in my movie Software editor program. Magix Movie edit pro.

  • wow u have alot of cool stuff in your garage!

  • Thanks kindly.

  • I like the enthusiasm in your voice when I watch you unbox your new toys.

I recently bought a couple of cheap micro rc helis to practice with. They take quite a bit of getting used to, I'd like to have a bigger one but i'll have to wait until I learn how to control them or they will go bouncing off my walls :(

  • Thanks and good luck.

  • hey

    were are you get that

  • Xheli. See the link in the description box.

  • do you know if i can buy this from an australian store?

  • Ive only seen them at xheli.

  • Great tips and tricks as always !!!!

  • Thanks kindly, sir.

  • Is this good for a first Helicopter

  • I would say good for second heli. Get a Blade MCX first.

  • how much???

  • Check the link for todays price. I think when I got mine it was $149?

  • Do not buy this for x-heli !!! Mine was defective and they charged me a 15% restocking fee for a defective item !! and they didn't pay for the shipping either.

    They are crooks beware.

  • They would not have charged 15%, if you exchanged it, instead of telling them you didnt want it after breaking it.

Many companies that I have done business with charge that rate. Sorry you are so bitter. I must be really lucky with all my stuff, but Xheli sells all brands, and usually it is the Manufacturers fault, not the distributor. RC is a bitch cause everybody blames the helis and planes when they crash, and never themselves, Return people get testy cause most will never learn to fly. :-)

  • If you search youtube you will see that the blazing star has problems. I didn't break it because I don't know how to fly, it has a defect that causes one rotor not to spin resulting in the heli crashing.

I'll ask you what I asked them, how am I suppose to know if something is defective if I don't fly it ? And why would I want to PAY to have them ship me another one that might be defective too ? If they would have paid for the shipping as they should I would have exchanged it. Shiping isnt cheap

  • I've heard negs on all MFGs, not just xheli.

Heres what Xheli replied when I fwded your letter..

    Hi Dave

We do have a online support forum hosted by RCUniversecom for people who need help with their purchase. We always give our customer the benefit of the doubt so normally when a customer complains that his airplane does not fly, we allow a one-time exchange provided that they did not crash it. But alot of times, 90-95% of the time it is because the pilot has no experience with rc aircraft.

  • The LamaV4/ Blade Pro

  • Mr.Herbert,

Have you reviwed the LamwV4 (co-axial) and the Blade Pro ? If not, could you in the future make the reviews? Thanks.

  • Not yet. If I get one, I will.

  • Hey, I have a nine eagles swordfish Heli and im getting the hang of it, after a few crashes. When i have a flight, the trim starts off normally, but after a couple of minutes, it starts turning right, so i have to trim left, eventually this gets so bad that i have to constantly hold left on the transmitter. Do you know what to do?

  • Im not familiar with that heli, but in most cases, the heat kills it and weakens the Tail rotor motor speed. Low battery also causes this.

  • I am definitely going to get this heli since 1) I have seen many of your videos and trust that you certinly know what you're talking about, and 2)I need another real heli to fly as my big Double Horse S 3 channel has pretty much bit the dust and I have outflown the battery life on my much smaller Air Hog Havoc. I do have an excellent flgiht sim, but I need to fly for real again!

  • You will like this one, for sure. Good luck.

  • Dave, do you get any "glitches" with the Blazing Star? I have 2 of these and 2 of the Walkera 53. I had problems with all 4 of them. They get twitchy and unresponsive and sometimes just fall out of the air. I haven't took the time to sort out the problem, but it doesn't seem to be distance related. I've considered installing E-flite CX2 componets but doubt if the E-flite mixer will handle the larger motors.

  • I did in the beginning with the antenna all wrapped around. soon as I taped it to the tail, it was fine. Coiled antennas de-tune the radio. The motors are bigger on this, so do not know about the mixers. All you can do is try.

    Let me know.

  • hello,im a beginner end im 14 yearsold.

can you tell what a good easy copter is for a beginner.ik got 3 airplane(1 is 80 cm long)and i got 1 helicopter.can you tell me what a good and easy helicopter is?with not more then 120$?????

  • Any 4 ch Heli is good for learning on like coaxials. Blade MCX, Blade Cx2, Blazing stars, etc.

Next choice would be the Honeybee Fixed Pitch. Theyre cheaper & can fly nice circuits around and handle wind well. Then HB CP2, but this one has more parts to break if you crash. (see my honeybee videos)

Sim practice will help to learn controls and orientation, but real life is a whole different situation.

I appreciate your frustration in trying to find a good heli. Read my 9 heli tips for more.

  • Thanks for you quick response Dave. I have a few days off work so I'll try a few things. If I find the problem, I'll pass it on.

  • Okay, and good luck.

  • why does it have a tail?

  • So you can tell which is the back and to look like a real heli.

  • Does the Blazing star have good forward and backwards flight, and will it be easily outgrown. Thanks!!!

  • I like mine and it flies fine indoors in forward flight. No coaxials fly very fast, but this one does a fine job.

  • Hello MR. Dave, I just got my blazing star an i charge the battery up but when i put it in the heli the green light will not keep flashing .help me JImmy

  • It is only supposed to flash a few times then go solid. Also make sure your throttle is all the way down and the throttle trim switch too, and left switch down or off. Does the heli run?

  • I got my heli yesterday (1/6/09) the green light keeps flashing, it does not get solid and the heli will not run at all. My meter is saying the battery is fully charged but the battery does not get warm. Xheli says it could be the transmitter but I don't know. Please help!!!!!!!

    Thanks,

    Jimmy

  • Lipos do not get warm when charging, only when discharging. Are you talking about the green light on the TX, as I dont see any green light on my heli. Not sure of the problem.

  • the light on the heli just is flashing heli will nor do anything are even try to run

  • i got a blazing star it has a green light in it supose to flash for about 5 to 10 seconds but it just keep on flashing will not run are do anything

  • It must not be seeing the low throttle position. Are you sure throttle is down, trim is down and TX gets turned on first?

  • The BS has bigger motors and more power then the CX2. Its blades are also further apart, which reduces blade strikes which can happen easily with the Blades and the Lamas.

  • hi dave,

My name is Joe I live in Australia and i am new to rc helicopters. I am wandering what helicopter i should purchase. Because of the australian dollar at the moment it is quite hard to atain the $180 i need to purchase the Blazing star. Do you have any other good helicopter for beginners around 80-120 USD?

    Thanks.

    P.S Love your videos

  • The MCX is really a good one too for small areas and the controls work the same as the big ones. But this is an excellent choice too.

  • ok I will look that one up!

Umm have you ever tried the twister bell 47 because that heli looks good and i would love to hear what u think about it! Thanks

  • I dont have one, but from what I see they look good.

  • try the twister bell medevac , its co-axil and was the first chopper i flew ,im now on to the twister cp gold which is fully 3d

  • Hi Dave I really enjoy your videos, I really liked the one were you caught the fish, very cool. I have decided to purchase the Blazing Star and give this a go, this will be my first 4 channel machine, thanks for all the pointers.

  • Thanks kindly. I think you will like this one.

  • is a blazing star a good heli to start out with, i was told you should start out with a single blade heli.because it will mix you up on the controls. thank you Jimmy

  • The controls are the same on any 4 channel heli. The Blazing star is a good one.

  • shinny indeed! the tail boom reminds me of those copters off MASH

  • LOL. I love mash.

  • Have you seen one latly they have 4 channels on the control and it even says on the instruction note book.

  • This is 4 channels.

  • You should try a havoc heli. It is a nice indoors RC helicopter. It has 6mins of flight and it take 20min-30mins to charge (I wish it was faster at charging). It a wounderfull RC to try and Cheap for price (like 40$). If You got some friends over and they got one to. They all can fly at the same time because they have a 4way channel.

  • Your kidding right? I did a product review on the havocs and Picco Z's (idential) and even did mod videos on those elevator helicopters almost 2 years ago. And they do not have 4 channels they have 2.

  • beautiful helicopter!

but at the beginning i thought u said lazy star *lol*.

  • LOL.

  • Thanks. Kindly. LOL.

  • your welcome

    lol lazystar

  • they sell those at target

  • No, they don't sell these at Target.

  • hey dave im 13 years old would i be allowed to have 1 and fly it?and if i am how much does that 1 cost?

  • Of course your old enough to have one and fly. Xheli had them for $129.

  • wow pretty expensive. hey do u have an s001?

  • Nope. Not too expensive compared to my $800 Blue Ray.

  • Finally got this thing over the mail and found a few problems. First is a glitch that cuts out the motor in mid flight. This led to a broken tail boom and broken landing skids from a seven foot fall. I unwound the antenna some but tht didn't help.

I never learn ! I buy something over the internet and it turns out to be crap !!

If yours starts to get glitchy RETURN IT !! otherwise it will fall during flight and the thing will fall apart.

  • Sorry to hear that. Mine is working perfectly, so Calling everything crap is bs.

  • wanting new friends

    just moved new area r0

  • i going to get a new heli for me

  • Great.

  • Nice, and good to learn on, but I hate couter-rotating helis. Back in the day, I learned to fly on collective-pitch nitro machines like the .30 Hirobo SHUTTLE, and the .60-powered X-Cell. People today have it too easy. Plus, you can only fly it when there's no wind. Flies good though.

  • Nice video. I ordered a Blazing Star 2 days ago. First rc helo for me. Will use your tips when attempting my first flight.

  • Im sure you will like it as well as I like mine. Take your time. Good luck and happy flying.

  • erm may i ask coz i juz a child ermm i hav a diary helicopter but it sux like the hoverlite keep spinning i dunnoe y but cant control juz spin and mine fwen say if cant feel the spinning thingy at the back of the helicopter dunnoe how to say that he say if u feel no win cant control help pls anyway i MABY buying a wow wee dragonfly or dunnoe wat helicopter recoment pls

  • Those tail rotors have very weak motors, and hairs can cause them to not spin fast enough. Remember moving the stick to right makes nose go to the right, not tail, so make sure your going the right way. Maybe it is time for a new one. Good luck.

  • I do not know of any yet. Most people cant fly helis at all, so manufactures must figure they would not sell to many modules, but I like the idea. You can also rig a separate servo and use a 6 channel radio to make a nice release (wire through block) too, as we have done for years on airplanes.

  • Hello Dave, Do you know of any R/C Heli that has a Aerial Drop Module like some of the hobby zone planes. I have a blast with those and was looking for a heli with one or a x-port to attach. thanks for your time

  • I just received this model. What are the two (2) silver switches for on the upper right and left top of the transmitter for? Mine don't do anything. Are they for a 3D transmitter?

  • I'm commenting on the r/c fishing video you have, I wanted to let you know you shouldn't throw the fish back into the water like that. It actually can be harmful to the fish.

    Thanks.

  • Why didn't you comment on the actual video? You just want to show everybody what you think you know on my popular video. Well I doubt it hurt the fish. We throw them back all the time. Never seen a death. Hooks in the mouth or it holding its breath, is way worse. I have seen many fish hit the water from jumps. If it makes you feel any better, you must know it did not die.

  • I didn't comment on that video page because comments are turned off. Proper fish handling techniques state to release the fish gently back into the water. Fish can be further stunned and traumatized by hurling them onto the water. I'm just passing the info on, not being a $%#@. I thought the video was very creative and a fun concept by the way.

  • Yes, your right. I can barely answer all my messages and PMS a day and that video had many many hits, I could not keep up, so shut them off. I wont hurt any more fish. Thanks. Dave

  • I have ordered this helicopter trusting your good review of it. I have a question: how high could a guy with your skill fly this thing, also what is the radius length from the controller that would still provide reliable control?

    MANY THANKS

  • Thanks. Yep, I fly them all. Sometimes it is a lot less stressful to fly something easier than my 3D stuff. You can fly it out of sight, and it would still work, but you would crash, because you could not see it, not because it ran out of range.

  • thanks for replying so quick. can you believe this: i got it, and it doesn't work. the upper rotor stops spinning at about 1/3 of a throttle, if i reverse the connection to the receiver than the bottom one stops at about 1/3 throttle. this means that both engines are fine. i've tried all the adjustments on the receiver and transmiter... servos are fine too. i know it is not your jurisdiction, nor do you have to spend ur time on this, but any idea what could it be? i am so frastrated. thank you

  • Try putting the battery in and not moving the heli for about 10 seconds so the gyro can settle. Make sure to unravel the antenna a bit and run it out the tail boom. Hopefully it will help. If not, Im afraid you will have to return it.

  • how much did you pay for this???

  • They are $129 at Xheli, and cheaper with coupons.

  • Might not want to display your license plate info. Just a suggestion.

  • Okay, I'll take it off so no one can see it. LOL

  • this seems to have a slightly larger gap between the sets of blades, how does that help? cause i've heard of people doing that to their lamas and blade CX's

  • Yes, well in full flight or big gusts of wind, or a very hard landing, the blades can crash into each other, so the further apart the less chance of that happening.

  • Does this thing have the same problem the micro 3 channel heli's have as in spinning around until you trim it ? I'm thinking about getting this one o the air tech Hughes MD 500 or the MXC that you have.

  • Not at all. Once trimmed it stays trimmed. Forget the Hughes. MCX is great and also full function.

  • I bought the blazing star. Now, I'm just waiting for it !!

  • Fantastic. You will love it.

  • agreed. lol. You have great videos to watch. Not to sound wierd, but I have watched all your videos that are RC realated. I enjoy watching videos made by someone who's info I can actually trust, because you have been flying for so long. Do you plan on putting up a new video soon?

  • Yes the new videos are coming slowly, with over 300 of these PMS a day, I have less and less time. I have a couple of new jets and a Blue Ray 3d heli video coming soon. Thanks for watching my vids and the kind words. I appreciate that.

  • Did you know that Xheli is using this video on there website?

  • Yes, I am honored.

  • does the exaust thing have a fan or is it just for looks??

  • Just for looks.

  • shiny, stable, awesome coaxial

    copter

  • Thanks. 'preciate it.

  • nice looking unit indeed, I flew a Graupner 47 G Jet Ranger (red and white body) for a couple of months, it is coaxial, has 2 servos and 2 engines 180 type. That was my first heli, bought it last year and learned a lot. Same possibilities as this one. Thx for the vid Dave !

  • Thanks very kindly. Yes they are pretty neat.

  • woooow thats like bling bling!!

    it shines !!!
