i know how she feels i cut my fenger 2 times not the little one but like hers but i didnt need to go to my dr i got lucky my mom new what to do lol lucky me.
Why do these stories always start with "it was a dark and stormy night..." or "one day during band practice..."? Honestly! Just kidding. Wow. There's been some damage done to my body like deep cuts and such (or breaking my head open when I was 4 because I jumped up and down on the couch, did a flip and came down headfirst on the TV table), so I can guess how you felt. Wow. Glad you still have your thumb.
It wasn't your finger that was asleep at the hospital; it was the doctor. They're not allowed to get the sleep that they need, to do a competent job, thus, he hurt your finger. When are w, as a society, going to put a stop to this endangering of patients with sleep deprived doctors? You were lucky; they hurt a lot of people much, much worst than they hurt you.
This reminds me of the time I cut my hand pretty badly while working on the inside of a computer. I went to the ER and the doctor told me "That's how you get a computer virus." (face palm)
@JohnBasedow1 Haha! It was WARRRM in my studio, John! I had the fan going the whole time and with the lights? O_o I didn't plan on having the blowing of the hair but I dig the added movement. It inspired other ideas, too. :) Can't wait to get my Spade costume made now! :D
oowwwieees! Pickle jars are evil, and so are the cans that don't open fully so then I go to open it with my fingers. Yikes!! I will be very cautious now <3
I suppose it would be a safe practice to wrap a towel around the jar being opened... Or, just use a hammer. 9) Glad you are okay, Blargal would be beside himself if you were not.
@zqueenbean I actually have either one of those rubber grip things, a gadget that releases the vacuum seal from jars (much like a bottle opener), or a towel! :)
Awe man, Im not eating pickles until they go to plastic jars! THATS IT!! (as if I liked pickles!) lol! I could send you some photos of my thumb, I broke my thumb off at the hammond bone and my coach promptly taped it up and sent me back into the game! lol! Not sure which is worse a snapped off thumb or a broken electric bass string sliver!!! OH the joy of pain! :o)
have had a few cuts like that some had stitches and some just butterfly stripped , both hands have had them , my left one has had big slices twice , one from cooking and the other one just shappening my knives getting them ready . I am alot better with the knives now to many scars and the docs all yell at me now to quit cooking or pay better attention .
All the pickles I have encountered in my life have been nice and tasty! Maybe this is like the Bermuda Triangle? Scary but rarely encountered. EAT MORE PICKLES!!
@JockoBarbone When the cut happened it literally felt like a papercut. I barely felt it. It was kinda eery the way it all went down. The sound of the glass slightly sliding on itself then liquid everywhere and blood... that was the scary part. Oh. That and when I rinsed of the cut I was able to lift my flesh. BLECH!!
A long time ago a friend told me how he was washing the inside of a glass cup with a regular sponge when the glass broke. It sliced his hand up badly. Blood everywhere. Since hearing that I only wash glass cups with a sponge on the end of a long handle. It was just a random thing. This video reminded me of that. I still have a scar on my thumb from when I fell backward into metal venetian blinds when I was a teenager. Not because I'm clumsey. I was pushed.
@sunsetlover The initial cut seriously just felt like a papercut. The blood and mess was scariest... until the butterfly bandage 5 hours after swelling. O_o
All you Had To Do Was To Put A Little Neosporin And Walk It Off. Ain't No Need For The ER!! LOL The Pictures Weren't That Bad. Not Graphic Enough For The Warning Actually LOL
@WuTangMan3699 It was more than a simple neosporin cut. My flesh was sliced... deeply. Doc said it was a good thing to come in and have it checked for glass and that they could do stitches to bring the flesh back together (about 3/4 of the "meat" was severed) but the slice was so clean a butterfly band would likely work. I don't think pics were bad at all... but some people can't even look at even a tiny cut. *covering bases* :D
It'll probably take years to get the full feeling back in your thumb. I cut a good chunk into my finger with a sword and the spot is still numb after 4 years.
@NathanDewey Don't think it'll ever be the same. :) I have feeling... just feels like my nerves were rearranged. haha! This happened about 5 yrs ago, actually. Found the pics and wanted to share! Thank you for watching, too!
I did the exact same thing to my right thumb in the exact same spot as yours! I still have the scar to prove it. For the stitches, the doctor had to kneel on my arm to stop me from moving because it hurt so bad giving the injections. That was probably one of the most painful things I ever felt. Getting the 5 shots of novacaine right in the gash. Ouch!
@annspade It was a jar of pickles! My jar had a hairline crack in it being held together by the label. I went to twist it and the jar came apart in 2 pieces and sliced my thumb right open. It was just nasty how when it stopped bleeding all the internal tissue was kinda swelling up and pushing out. Looked like the guts of my thumb sticking out. Don't worry. after about 8 months you will get the sensation back in your thumb. lol
@oconano Oh, eow!! Sounds like your injury was worse! Mine was a cleaner cut (thankfully) so though I did see a little flesh peeking out, it wasn't like entrails all mangled up! This was 5 yrs ago or so, btw. I found the pics the other day and wanted to vlog about it for a sort of PSA. (Truly!) Not a fun experience! For you, even worse!
@MissAkaPolly It happened a few years ago. I found the pics and decided to share. :) Thank you! My finger healed wonderfully. Just feels a little odd. :)
owie! my god glass is evil! the worst is you never realise you've been cut before you see the blood (or that's how it is with me)
hornestly, beware og kitchens... they are evil I swear! most of my worse accidents happens in our kitchen (like dropping 400 dl of hot candle wax over my hand without even touching the glass it was in)
@annspade Wouldn't it be so crazy if somehow the interpretation of nerve signals got totally mixed up in the brain? So chewing food felt like walking barefoot through grass, and taking a pee felt like combing your hair, etc. Lucky our brains usually get things right. I'm glad our eyes and ears get it right too, and that vision and sound doesn't get mixed up.
@P00P0STER0US That's actually the reason why experimental medicine is so careful with testing regrowth of severed nerves... actually it's most likely you'd experience pain first, as that's the most basic sensation. Last to go, first to come back. The brain seems to be able to rewire itself quite well though.
BTW, that was a helluva deep gash... "Death by pickle jar" would look pretty weird on a newspaper headline. *grin*
Holly molly....Frenemies...? that cut looked brutal,...ouch. I hate jars of stuff in general, i empty them into other containers, to save the havoc of opening them,...or throwing them against the wall. great video as always,....!!!
@deltabluesboy10 Frenemies are friends who are also enemies. They take away your trust and loyalty but stick around just enough to be nice and know you. haha! It was truly a brutal cut! Thank you for the compliment! :D
@BarryAldridge Barry, there is a cool gadget (inexpensive, too) that looks almost like a can opener but it releases the vacuum seal in jars so you can open them with ease. It's a GREAT investment (albeit very small one)! :D
Ann, mega-kudos on the editing! Two big (non-injured) thumbs up! I know how hard that was, and all the talent you have to have and time you had to put into it to make it that good.
@DaleATL2 YOU have always noticed my editing schtuff, Dale. I love, love, love that. So far only 3 or 4 comments regarded the editing (yours included). That took TIME! haha! Glad you're impressed! I know you know editing well so thanky!!! ♠♥u
@TheDasha92 Hopefully it served as a PSA (public service announcement to those who didn't realize what that meant) for people to be careful with glass... anything! :)
@iCrazybitchtv RIGHT?? I LOVE that I can do that now! I created the thumbnail before I edited the video. hahaha!! :D Now THAT'S the partnership stuff. Thanks, girly girl! ♠♥u
@annspade They have a cartoon pelican who does ads for Vlasic. He has a voice similar to Groucho, and sometimes holds a pickle in the same fashion in which Groucho used to hold a cigar. Come to think of it, he may be a stork instead of a pelican, with some vague connection to pregnant women craving pickles, and storks delivering babies. He says "That's the best tasting pickle I ever heard!" when someone crunches a Vlasic. He's responsible!
@millitaryjoe It really was a nasty cut! Freak accident for sure! I'm always pretty careful when I open jars and this broke WAY too easily. I barely used strength. (And thank you for the compliment.) :)
3/4 through the thumb. I hope you got another free pickle jar from that company. But 5 hours.... Man, that is like the local IHS here... (Indian Health Service)
@FriscoTheNavajo Haha! Yeah, it was a loooong time. Good thing is while in the ER more threatening cases were led in more timely. I'm okay with that. And yeah! 3/4 of thumb!! I didn't pursue anything with the company and chalked it up as a freak glass jar (or evil)! That's what happens with glass and couldv'e happened during shipping.
i cut my thumb once with a potato peeler, at works years ago i was a cook. not anywhere near as bad as yours but pretty bad, it was a nice clean cut, it took a chunk of my thumb off with the potato peel it didnt hurt at first. i looked at it and the corner of my thumb is just flat . you can see each laying of skin. the hole was about the size of this zero 0(the blood itself) it took a good chunk than it just started gushing everywhere. .but hey i never cut myself with a knife.
@scootsie119 Oh... ooooouch! That would hurt! One of my close friends worked in a deli way back and she was slicing lunch meat in one of those machines where you pull & push to slice both ways. She caught her pinky in the same fashion you caught yourself with the peeler. Her pinky looked flat and wouldn't stop bleeding for HOURS! It was open flat with no skin to fold over and blood wouldn't clot. O_o
What program did you use to draw that character?

deltabluesboy10 1 year ago
@deltabluesboy10 Frenemies are friends who are also enemies. They take away your trust and loyalty but stick around just enough to be nice and know you. haha! It was truly a brutal cut! Thank you for the compliment! :D

That is messed up with the pickle jar ooo that is a cut. I have trouble trying to open certain jars when they so done up tight.
BarryAldridge 1 year ago
@BarryAldridge Barry, there is a cool gadget (inexpensive, too) that looks almost like a can opener but it releases the vacuum seal in jars so you can open them with ease. It's a GREAT investment (albeit very small one)! :D

@annspade Thats brilliant, I may check it out.

Ann, mega-kudos on the editing! Two big (non-injured) thumbs up! I know how hard that was, and all the talent you have to have and time you had to put into it to make it that good.
Very, VERY impressive! :-D

@DaleATL2 YOU have always noticed my editing schtuff, Dale. I love, love, love that. So far only 3 or 4 comments regarded the editing (yours included). That took TIME! haha! Glad you're impressed! I know you know editing well so thanky!!! ♠♥u

TheDasha92 1 year ago
@TheDasha92 Hopefully it served as a PSA (public service announcement to those who didn't realize what that meant) for people to be careful with glass... anything! :)

I blame dat damn pelican who sounds like Groucho Marx!
nezpercenathan 1 year ago
@nezpercenathan ?? Well, wasn't that a random thing to say. haha!
annspade 1 year ago
@annspade They have a cartoon pelican who does ads for Vlasic. He has a voice similar to Groucho, and sometimes holds a pickle in the same fashion in which Groucho used to hold a cigar. Come to think of it, he may be a stork instead of a pelican, with some vague connection to pregnant women craving pickles, and storks delivering babies. He says "That's the best tasting pickle I ever heard!" when someone crunches a Vlasic. He's responsible!
nezpercenathan 1 year ago
@nezpercenathan OOOOH! That's right. Doy. My bad! I knew that! *slaps head* Only yes... I thought it was a stork, not a pelican. :)

I HATE PICKLES. This has no bearing on anything, it's just true. I'm glad their stupid juice saved you, though. :)

@Smush21 Haha!! "Stupid juice". I may write a song about that! :D You hate pickles?? Girrrrrrl... I heart them.

SANTA MARIA! thats an ugly cut and man... you are really beautful
millitaryjoe 1 year ago
@millitaryjoe It really was a nasty cut! Freak accident for sure! I'm always pretty careful when I open jars and this broke WAY too easily. I barely used strength. (And thank you for the compliment.) :)

With all of the grief that pickle jars - and pickles themselves have given me - I may never care to eat pickles again.
Unless I could get lucky and happen to find them in a can. ~_~
Sorry about your finger, Ann! :(

annspade 1 year ago
3/4 through the thumb. I hope you got another free pickle jar from that company. But 5 hours.... Man, that is like the local IHS here... (Indian Health Service)
FriscoTheNavajo 1 year ago
@FriscoTheNavajo Haha! Yeah, it was a loooong time. Good thing is while in the ER more threatening cases were led in more timely. I'm okay with that. And yeah! 3/4 of thumb!! I didn't pursue anything with the company and chalked it up as a freak glass jar (or evil)! That's what happens with glass and couldv'e happened during shipping.
annspade 1 year ago
i cut my thumb once with a potato peeler, at works years ago i was a cook. not anywhere near as bad as yours but pretty bad, it was a nice clean cut, it took a chunk of my thumb off with the potato peel it didnt hurt at first. i looked at it and the corner of my thumb is just flat . you can see each laying of skin. the hole was about the size of this zero 0(the blood itself) it took a good chunk than it just started gushing everywhere. .but hey i never cut myself with a knife.
scootsie119 1 year ago
@scootsie119 Oh... ooooouch! That would hurt! One of my close friends worked in a deli way back and she was slicing lunch meat in one of those machines where you pull & push to slice both ways. She caught her pinky in the same fashion you caught yourself with the peeler. Her pinky looked flat and wouldn't stop bleeding for HOURS! It was open flat with no skin to fold over and blood wouldn't clot. O_o
