  • This man is a genius.

  • Reminds me of a Canadian Christopher Walken

  • My StopMotions suck. You can look at them if you want to though. On my channel in the StopMotion playlist. The only technology i made them with was a 60 quid digital camera and windows movie maker.

  • Patrick, I'm sorry but the tecnology is really expensive for a lot of people. Your camera, here (Spain) costs like 2500-3000€. My dad earns 1100€/month and my partial job gives me 650€/month. That's 3 months of my mom or half a year with my payment (without eating). I love your videos., specially the Iron Baby, and the fight between Optimus and Bumblebee. Well done, I hope you get to the very top of animators.

  • @morphender his camera is top. you dont need a top camera to do it. hes saying there's technology out there you can use for cheap. get a cheap camera and it can do the same thing. the tools and technology is just an extension of the artist.

  • "PRATICK BOIVIN

    Autodidact Director/Animator/God"

  • what he say at 0:51..?the editing software I will not name because I " ???" sth? I didnt quite catch it.

  • @Devin1pm " . . . The editing software I will not name because I hate it!"

  • @Devin1pm hate it maybe

  • wow only 2,000 views, i thought there would be more cos this is a great video!

lol i never knew what he looked like, i thought he was like a superhero that liked to stay hidden lol

  • @kungfoolai - Thanks dude! Every once in a while super heroes come out to talk to the mortals among us - luckily I caught this stop-mo super hero on film :)

  • @CanadianAnimation lol, well done for the interview, was great! Hope u get more views on this dude! :)

    Peace!

  • Excellent video! If you watch my stop motion video, you will no doubt see that I learned every single thing from watching his "making of" videos! Very cool to watch an interview of him for the first time :)

  • @yozzup - Totally dude, I love your "Back from the Dead" stop motion animation :)

  • 552 views??!! what's the world coming to?

  • @namchild - I know namchild, I know! When I lucked out and Patrick agreed to do the interview about his animations at the Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival I thought everyone would look at this video and pass it on. Hopefully with time that's going to happen eventually. The guy's a genius and he's always coming out with work that is better and better every time, like "Black Widow Gone Wild".

  • @CanadianAnimation definitely!

well.. to be fair the views have suddenly gone up to 829 in the last 10 hours so the world must be changing their ways for the better. Great recording by the way : ) very interesting

  • @namchild - Yeah yea, it is exciting to finally see it start to receive some views now. I'm pretty sure it's the only english interview video that's available with Patrick at the moment, but no doubt that's going to change as more and more people discover his work :)

  • @CanadianAnimation definitely!

  • SHIT SHIT SHIT! That man is my hero. I love him. WHY COULDN'T I INTERVIEW THAT MAN?? WHYY?

  • @JamesHanksy - You'll just have to fly out to the next Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival for a vacation if Patrick comes out again. He took the time to talk to everybody that was there :)

  • @CanadianAnimation I may have to. I do love that man, he sounds a great person.

  • You really are lucky man! I`m a comic book drawer and it must of been a real miracle to meet with him!

  • @thawhiteballa - Yep, Patrick's pretty much my idol. He's succeeded in ways I'm striving to with my own animation so there's a lot I can learn from him. The thing that's amazing is that he's completely down to earth and easy going. Having a chance to meet and talk to both Patrick and Barry Purves at the Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival was the icing on the cake to an amazing event :)

  • NICE

  • @rcehoppe - Thanks man! I couldn't believe I actually got a chance to interview Patrick Boivin. As an indie stop-motion animator, the work he does is one of my biggest inspirations. I love that I'm getting a chance to share his work with other people through this site :)

  • @CanadianAnimation - i could tell that you were excited ( you had that special look in your eye ^_^) anyways if your up for it, i would like to sit down with you over tea some time soon.

  • @rcehoppe - Sure, sounds good. I'm in Toronto most of the time, but I could stop by in Kitchener in January when I'm on the way to visit my folks around the 17th if you're not in Toronto before then.

  • @CanadianAnimation hey there, i am down with that. Lets make it happen ^_^

    PS are you on FaceBook?

  • @rcehoppe - Yep, I sure am. I'm generally on there more often than I should be.
