  • I'm wondering what that piece that's being played is called?

  • @MrPenfold84 the little spree. its a pibroch

  • Get that lass a shorter blowpipe!

  • i like dunbars

  • Brian Lamond ?

  • i will make sure my next set of pipes is from shephards

  • i had the reeds @ 1:54 for about a week or 2 and they were crap.. always cut out no matter how you set them up.. then i got Ezeedrone reeds and i havent looked back have them with years..couldnt be happer

  • No offence but i prefer Mc Callum Bagpipes

  • I´m playing an Sheperd S1 made about 2003 and i´m real happy with this set of pipes!

No Cracks till now, great sound wood looking very good!!!

Than i bought an Peter Henderson Set of Pipes made by Hardie 2008 on 2009 and i´m not feel that lucky with that set!

I never will buy again an set of pipes made by hardie, because i feld so unlucky, but may there is someting like an roulette to get a real good bagpipe of the great pipemakers?

  • I play on a Shepherd imitation ivory set in one band. It's 11 years old and its all chipped, tenor drones are cracked and the stocks have had to be replaced. I play a 30 year old half-mount Hardie in another band and its got no problems whatsoever.

    Both have SM90 Drone Reeds

Just have to be very careful with the Shepherd pipes...

  • Zarah needs a shorter blowpipe on that set.

  • You know what's ironic is that you're hearing a set of Naill bagpipes in the background...not a set of Shepherds.

(The background music is Jori Chisholm playing "The Little Spree").

  • Naills are awesome ;)

  • No arguments from me. Just wish they threaded their projecting mounts, ferrules, and caps. And I know tone is all subjective, but I prefer a beefier bass drone than is the standard Naill bass.

I personally play a MacLellan...which is a Henderson-bored instrument with slight modifications on the tenors.

  • hahahahaha incredible! :)

  • where is part 2?

  • where are father and son?father and daugther?

  • Right....is there a part 2?

  • Where's part 2?

  • Shephard is really a fantastic bagpipe producer. I must also say, there are a number of super bagpipe makers that really do a good job of making pipes. Mullinder is a good example!
