this is a long way to round to get system restore why not just go to system tools ,plus this way of get rid of a virus is ok as long as u can restore back to when you first got infected ,my restore point will only take me back to when i contacted the virus so this method wont work for me.

assuming you have a pretty bad virus, you wont even be able to use the run ability.

also it would be much easier to download malware bytes and use the scanner. rather than system restoring

For anybody who doesn't know this already, system restore will only undo any downloads or changes to your computer after the selected restore date. This has save my ***

many times in the past. But it might not work for all kinds. (or at least not the more advanced ones)

Today I clicked on something that said "learn how to do this here" and as soon as I clicked, my screen went dark and my graphic card settings went crazy. I got so scared and managed to get into system restore real quick and go back a day.

This is the second time my computer was saved with System Restore. I'm just so relieved. I almost had a heart attack and nervous breakdown all at once! lol

The first time my computer went "crazy", I thought it was a virus and managed to get to System Restore and it fixed the problem. So to answer your question, I think yes it does remove viruses.

I think what attacked my computer was a virus anyway, but I could be wrong. It could have been something more benign and easier to get rid of.

Mhm, a system restore gets rid of any and every change that has been made to your computer since the checkpoint.

Not the most complicated of tasks but I'm sure this was helpful to someone.

cited?, do u mean programs mentioned, but im not 100% sure but conficker does disable the antivirus when its on ur pc, but if u have an updated antivirus or updated MBAM then u should be able to block it before it infects ur pc. I got to say that norton is crappy in terms of crazy amount of CPU usage. Im not sure about norton 360 but i know the 2009 one is good.

conficker stops you from updating your computer and getting on antivirus sited, i think it also block you from recieving updates, also takes your personal information and downloads itself to any external memory devices you may have. nasty virus to have. personally i would just totally wipe my computer clean and start new if i ever got it. cant honesttly think of a better way to get rid of it, anyway gl with getting rid of it if you havent already
