@vassilischr because it has a very stong oceanic influence, and if you see where it's located in the map, you'll notice it's almost where Sydney is, only a little more to the east, and there hasn't been any true snowfalls in there, so yeah.. Although in the Southern Island of New Zealand it does snow and frequently :P

this is because of the global warming, so the icebergs in south pole are melting,and that melting absorbs the heat, makes the nearby place colder.

@sbradderz Don't be such a sour puss! I'm from Southland, New Zealand, so I 'know what snow is' just like you. But I assure you, it doesn't have to be 2 feet deep to be fucking freezing and a pain in the arse. The snow in Dunedin (where I'm living) wasn't that deep, but it was the layer of ice underneath it that was proof of how cold it was, and also how dangerous.
